    Excellent leisure facilities, breakfast very good

    Laying new carpets in communal reception area. Banging could be heard throughout the hotel, no problem except they were doing it through the night!!! and kept us awake

    The food was excellent adn the staff were very efficient,friendly and attentive.

    Whilst I appreciate the hotel is an old building,the toilet and shower equipment was close to unusable due to its condition.The room was a tad grubby and the window outside my room door (Room 340)could not be closed and made under the door draughty and the door rattled all night.The bathroom window also could not be closed and the bathroom door open and shut all night.The restauarant chairs at breakfast still had the crumbs from last night's dinner guests on them on two succesive mornings.

    The friendliness of staff was good despite having numerous foreign employees. The leisure fcilities were excellent and could no be faulted. The food was excellent.

    It is not a bad point but w waited for almost an hour for our table in the brasserie only to complete the whole eating experience in less than 1/2 hour. We felt rushed.

    The room had recently been refurbished to a high standard and was a good size,The bathroom was also of a high standard with an exultant shower and plenty of hot water.

    Our room on our last night was of a fantastic standard and was worth upgrading ( only ten pound more!. Our 1st and 2nd rooms were dissapointing and were very old fashioned and in desperate need of upgrading.

    The room, restaurant, bar and bistro area and the leisure facilities were all excellent. The food was superb as was the service in the bar area.

    The walpaper and pictures in the public (corridor) areas. It seemed at odds with the rest of the hotel, hopefully will be modernised as the other areas mentioned.. The fact that the advertising picture from the front of the hotel makes it seem that it is in its own grounds. The picture taken from the other side of the busy road...in a public park. The GREEN of the hotel is ????? green!

    "The staff of the hotel are very helpful and friendly. The food in the evenening, whilst slightly on the expensive side was, never the less, very good. Though a slight disappointment was the fact the bar does not serve food in the evenings - an alternative to the restuarant menu would have been appreciated. The buffet breakfast was very good."     The room, while not very large, was very well decorated and very clean.

    "The staff were particularly good with us as we had our 22 month old son with us and when he wakes up he likes his warm milk. Within 3 mins of calling room service the milk would be with us. The spa facilities are really well done, do not be put off by the fact that the pool is in a conservatory as you really would not know. Finally good location and ample parking." (97803412)

    The staff at the hotel could not help enough. We found them all to be friendly and helpful... even when we stayed during their staff christmas party they all remained professional and happy to help us enjoy our stay. The food is also very good, and the swimming facilities are good too.

    Our only issue was the heat in the room, it was really just too warm and we slept with two windows open in January.

    "Only stayed for one night whilst away on business, I found the staff friendly and helpful and the check-in/out was quick and painless. The food in the main restaurant was excellent and well worth a visit just for that. On arrival I was given a complimentary upgrade on the room I had booked (from a single to a twin) which was great. The twin room that I was upgraded to was a bit on the small side for what it would have cost though. The bed wasn't particularly comfortable and I would have liked to have had a duvet rather than blankets but other than these points the room was clean and comfortable." (99684737)

    "we found it very pleasant to stay here but we could of done with air condistioning as it was so hot. we expected this for the price of the room. the rooms were lovely and clean but there were holes in the sheets. I did report this but nothing was said. If they had special offers on and it wasnt so pricey we would stay again." (3305007189)

    "Good parking facilities and hotel very easy to find in the centre of the town. Hotel staff very friendly. Restaurant food absolutely excellent and worth the trip alone.     "No mention was made at time of booking that the hotel was undergoing renovations - it was a tip! A note to say so would have been helpful. Parking at the hotel is not that self evident. Although there is a large car park to the rear, it is not signposted or clear to the new arrival, who arrives at the front entrance and that entrance is on the main road." (3304913006)

    Restaurant - the food quality was superb, and well presented. The Service was outstanding.

    No hot water, stifling hot and no working fan, trouser press not working, shower head so loose it wouldn't aim into the bath without being held.
