    Food was excellent but would like wider choice

    Promissed the bar was open all night but could not get a drink at 1am. Dinning room was very open and bare looking.

    "Excellent value booking over the internet. Pleasantly surprised with hotel and Faringdon town. Town very walkable and especially being able to walk in from hotel. Very helpful staff and breakfast was of a very high standard. " (107145517)

    Lady on reception was exceptional with local knowledge and directions and generally very friendly and interested.

    "The hotel room gave the impression that refurbishment was needed. The staff tried to be pleasnat but seemed to find smiling an effort. From a value from money perspective the overall rating would be very poor." (97768567)

    The prov ision was adequate

    Room door entry system was erratic - sometimes the door jams. Thsiwas the same room we used last year and the same rpoblem was reported. NO action had been taken. The room had not beee aired for a number of days. As a smoking room it is particularly important that the windows are opened and fresh air is circulating. The room was neither particularly clean nor attractive. The room location was a day out and a packed lunch from reception. The ladies on reception were both quite glum and seemed unsure how the equipment worked.

    Location, parking, quiet room, decor, and evening meal

    No apology given for false fire alarm in the early hours Check out very slow, and reception staff not very curtious

    Friendly helpful staff.

    Rooms a bit 'tired' and poorly lit. Breakfast on both days was 'a bit long in the tooth' despite the fact we were in the dining room 30 minutes before end of serving.

    "As I have said in my above comments that we were more than sattisfied with our stay and would certainly rebook again if we wamted a place to stay I think that the £60 per room was excelent value. thank you for making our stay with you special as we had traveled from South Wales to visit my sister and her husband who unfortunately has suffered a very severe stroke and knowing that we could return to Faringdon and be comfortable for our two night stay was great we were orriginaly from Eynsham and moved to South Wales four years ago so yes we will be using the hotel again."     The staff were great the peace and tranquility of the surroundings the food was exelent with a great choice and the rooms were very comfortable and clean

    There was nothing to dislike about it

    "The hotel represented very good value for money compared with, for example, Travelodge. The room was very quiet, comfortable and pleasant. The staff were friendly, particularly the bar staff. Breakfast offered many selections, but the cooked section was a little dry and an improvement would be if it was cooked to order. Overall a very enjoyable experience." (97174347)

    Friendly staff, very quiet situation. Pleasant and comfortable.

    Breakfast was a bit dry- cooked and kept warm.

    "The hotel stops serving breakfast at 9.45am on the weekends, which is too early for people on weekend leisure breaks. Whilst this information is given in the information holder, it would have been helpful to have had this pointed out on arrival. I raised this with Reception at the time and was offered no explanation - the receptionist was merely intent on completing payment for the full amount and check-out as quickly as possible."     "Indian restaurant down the road was of a very high standard (chose this option because of the Christmas party in the dining room - would have liked to have been told about this beforehand). My suggestion would be for the receptionist to have additional sachets of tea/coffee at hand (for use in the room). The weather was miserable on the occasion we stayed in Faringdon, but the bonus was seeing the Christmas lights switched on in the town square." (97312656)

    Well located hotel with good parking facilities. Room and main hotel areas were well decorated and pleasant. Room was spacious and well equipped and was not noisy (even though there was a Christmas party taking place!)

    Bed was OK, but I have had much better. As I suffer from back problems I notice the next day if the bed is poor.

    "The room was perfectly adequate but detail was missed - a broken light bulb and trouser press not working. Dinner was rather good with friendly, if inexpert, service. Breakfast was poor - a buffet that was very tired and with no-one about to offer any service, including a hot drink." (99460992)

    The chairs in the conference room are uncomfortable; in particular the arm rests are hard on elbows.
