    "Can't ask for more. Did exactly what we wanted it to do. On our way to N.Wales this provided a very comfortable stopover enroute.It delivered all the things lots of hotels promise to do but don't. Would recommend." (108101437)

    We were amazed at the standard of the room, the staff were very pleasant, helpful and friendly. Breakfast was also excellent. Could not fault this hotel whatsoever.

    Didn't stay for longer or get there early enough to use facilities.

    "Overall a very nice Hotel, good facilities, friendly and very helpful staff, wonderful character main building...and lovely front garden with mature trees and a fountain, the only negative for me was the standard of maintenance to the room (annexed from the main building). It was below my expectations at the price I paid and more akin to a budget hotel. However I Would return again no problem at all though." (107494944)

    Very clean room and a nice hotel. Let down by poor / botched maintenance inside room.

    Water damage and lifting ceiling tape evident from room above. Fixtures and fittings of wardrobes poorly botched repairs, (sharp srew-tips protruding 10mm or so through carcass of wardrobe...holding the door on!) bathroom sealant mouldy and unsightly, room entry door tricky to lock from inside.

    minor niggles - bit of a mither getting kettle etc out of cupboard. had to find where tv plugged so we could switch it off as the standby light was rather bright.

    worth paying the extra for the larger room was lovely 4 poster we had!

    hotel has a strange layout, up and down all over the place easy to get confused

    Meal in restaurant on evening excellent standard, served by friendly waitress

    arrived for breakfast first morning and forgot to bring our tea, then they only brought 1 breakfast, so had to wait for 2nd. had to ask for our toast as well. overall our breakfast was cold and disjointed. they delivered the toast to the table next to us way before their breakfast arrived and the table the other side got the wrong items on their breakfast. no order, they seemed to be just randomly placing food on everyone table. i worked in the industry and no one was overseeing the breakfast service, just young girls. very disappointing

    made to walk outside in the rain to get to the bar because 'I am not allowed to walk through the restuarant while people are eating' to visit the hotel bar. Quite strange to be made to walk outside for a pre dinner drink.

    Staff were flexable and helpful and the checking in process was easy.

    Confusion over first night booking resulted in member of the party having no room this problem was resolved by 2 people agreeing to share other than this just minor problems.

    The hotel provided an enjoyable experience with smart, efficient and helpful staff. Meals were freshly prepared and in the main enjoyable.

    Difficult to find (lightening the sign would assist) and some of the choices with regard to meals were interesting. Some form of guest service information in the rooms would be useful.

    the room was ok and the dining room.

    the breakfast was dry and had been standing for a while in alot of grease, not enough choice too. i was ill for most of the day so i don't think iwould have the breakfast again unless it was fresh! the room was ok the heating didn't really work and the heated towel rail did'nt work either. i don't think there should be an extra charge just to have your breakfast in your room it should just be a choice!

    "The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble for them. We requested a room change (noisy over the pool ventilator, room 8) which was sorted straight away and our room was pleasant and very clean though little details needed checking - TV remote and fridge weren't working.     "The staff were friendly and helpful. We had booked three rooms and all were very well presented and clean. First impressions were good and we were not disappointed. The food (we had dinner in the restaurant as well as breakfast) was well cooked and presented. We felt the stay was outstanding value for money. We really enjoyed having the pool facility for my year old grandson. There was a large fridge in the rooms which was very useful for keeping the baby food and drink in. We also made use of the tea and coffee facilities in the rooms." (97120985)

    We were in the cottages at the back of hotel nice and quiet. When we we there it was carnival day and although it was further along the main street there was no noise filtering through. There was also a wedding whilst we were there but again there was no noise disturbance.

    Used the Butlers Restaurant on 1st evening we were there. Food was ok but really nothing startling. Noticed that the menu seemed to be the same the following night (according to the one in the room) so was fairly limiting really. Breakfast was good though, serve yourself on the weekend which made it less formal. Instructions for getting there by road could be a bit better as there are 2 railway bridges in the town, had to ask someone where the hotel was.

    It was a romantic valentine weekend and the room was decorated with rose petals and there were night lights around the bath and in the bathroom but no matches so we had to borrow a lighter. The room was large and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was excellent with a good flow of water.

    Staff were extremely friendly and polite, nothing was too much trouble especially the restaurant staff. Room was cosy and comfortable,Plenty of parking spaces.

    Nothing really except maybe hotel was a bit on the warm side. although I would have complained if it had been cold. View from window not very eyecatching.

    Quiet room and good facilities in the hotel.

    Had to go outside to get to anywhere (garden cottage room) - not far, but would be a pain in bad weather needing a coat for dinner!
