    Hotel very clean, staff friendly and room excellent.

    Just one comment, bathroom in room 1 needing tlc. Black patches on wall and smelt a little damp.

    Lovely big room, helpful staff, and a cooked breakfast served at your table. Nothing too much trouble for them.

    A bit noisy outside hotel in evening, not too bad.

    "I like many people like to stay somewhere that i can at least walk on the carpet in the bedroom this hotel needs to have the carpets cleaned. I would not book into this hotel again." (108305519)

    The rooms was dirty and the carpets was very stained I would not walk on them with out my shoes on. Asked to be moved to a diffrent room we was but the carpets was just as dirty.

    Although a confirmed booking was made with a Email confimation, the Hotel phoned to say they did not have any rooms avaliable. I had to make alternative arrangments.

    Friendly and helpful staff. Meals were good and tasty.The bedroom was tastefully decorated and clean. A good array of toiletries was displayed.

    There were no bad points as such. However the net curtain in the room needed washing. It would have been better to have a more practical towel rail in the bathroom. There was no bath mat and in times of conservation it was unnecessary to change towels everyday.

    We had room 16, very nice, very clean. Very pleased with it. The waiter at breakfast was very polite. Very good value.

    Staff very friendly, welcoming and helpful.

    Dirty Carpet not hoovered, tap top in bathroom damaged, window latch broken and sitting outside on roof, toilet cleaning brush was sitting in a pool of very dirty water.

    staff very helpful and friendly if a bit slack.room clean and tidy.We booked the dining room downstairs for a family get-together and was well looked after and enjoyed the 2 bottles of free wine that the owner had supplied us with.

    dinner very late as chef forgot to put meat in oven, but we did see the funny side of it. We did kick up a fuss when outsiders fed before us,having waited 2 hours to eat. [ bed only pulled up not made.]

    Manager was helpful and friendly, Convenient for town.

    Staff could of done with better training, Also car parking not very good we had to park under elm trees which covered the car with sticky sap, and had to have the car cleaned before our journey home

    "Nice room and although there was only one armchair there were two large foot stools which could be pushed together. Hotel staff pleasant and was excellent value for the price. Felt very welcome and had a great week." (107750161)

    good location for town facilities. Well organised meal times and simple proceedures.

    Outdoor seating area was a bit basic and not very comfortable for smokers, but it was adequate.

    Excellent value breakfast/carvery. Very good town centre location. Very nice bathroom toiletries.

    No credit card facility during our stay because the service was not working, not a problem for us but could be for others. No lift. Our room was over the dining room and the loud piped music was intrusive. When I asked a member of staff "was this going to continue all night" she replied "yes probably" !! Only one bedside table and lamp. Nothing on the other side. General atmosphere was not particularly welcoming.

    "Overall as good as we expected having stayed with you before. However, the Gallery room we were allocated was not quite to our liking.The stairs proved difficult for my wife, (we are both 75) Being as it was rather wintery the downstairs remained cold, all the heat rose up, and the bedroom to hot.(Some people are never satisfied!)     Pictures on web-site & in brochure give false impression of the room conditions. Staff unhelpful, Cleanliness of public areas poor. Room not serviced properly, bed not made, hospitality tray not replenished, door Knob missing froom bedroom door, curtains would not close

    Clean bed

    First room allocated - bed un-made and alternative upgrade given. This room had not been cleaned adequately as you could write your name in the dust on the table and the carpet had not been hoovered. The entrance hall floor of quarry tiles was particularly dirty with muddy footprints. Carpet on the stairs had bits of confetti-type pieces relating to a previous function. 1 bathroom mirror light was not working.

    Minor niggles - The restaurant area carpet was filthy - e.g. food from the previous nights carvery trodden into the floor. The receptionist was helpful but could have been proactive in clearing up the mess which was right in front of him. Had hoped for a bath in the ensuite but were told it was not possible.

    Lovely room (10) . Quick check in.

    Carprt in poublic areas needing a clean. Got aske if we wanted breakfast evening before but when we got up in morning spent ten minutes lookinf for staff. Got fed up and went into town to eat

    On arrival at the hotel, the only member of reception staff had to take food orders and go to the kitchen to collect the food orders. This meant a wait of about 10 minutes before we could check in. Room was very basic, no drawers and the wardrobe was just a shell with coathangers. Only one wicker chair in the room. Rubbish bin was not emptied nor were the towels changed.
