  we didnt check in as it was very run down and smelt musty.The owner was away so the restaurant was shut!we didnt except the room and wouldnt bother going again.Needs some loving attention and alot of updating.

  Excellent breakfast.

  Noisy room with "interesting" decoration. Low water pressure in shower. Expensive for what it was.

  "The standard was that of a B&B, not an hotel" (108009805)

  room was spacious and breakfast good

  Shower did not work, decor was 'tired' and the hotel in need of some renovation. The proprietor was over worked as no other staff available, and standard of accomodation and overall experience did not warrant the high cost of stay (£110 per night)

  "This is a good hotel with mainly excellent staff and managers. Clean and comfortable and reasonably well equiped. I have put yes for staying agian but I would leave if the smell was still there and get my money back." (107123961)

  Delightful and helpful receptionist/assistant manageress. Helpful and friendly housekeeper and restaurant manager. Excellent breakfasts and a good dinner. Good sized room with high ceilings.

  Dreadful and sickmaking smell of diesel on the landing which was mentioned in a report I read dated April when the hotel management claimed they had fixed the problem. I did not dream it would still be there 4 months later. Hard plastic pillows. Poor shower. Hotels really should have pumped showers and non leaking enclosures. Sulky english waitress.

  "This is a top of the range hotel so price was high. Knowing that they had had a problem with the boiler which had seeped to the upper floor, it would have been a nice gesture to have reduced the price a fraction until it cleared. Other than this our stay was very enjoyable and the food was excellent. As the food was so good we would have liked to have had Sunday dinner, but one of the staff members told us about a good pub in Glastonbury called Who'd Have Thought it where the food was excellent."   The staff at Meare Manor were very cheerful & polite & gave very good service. We were able to really relax in the room with the tv & tea making facilities. We were also very impressed with the provision of port & brandy which were left in the room, a very nice addition for after dinner. The food was excellent - especially the evening meal - well worth popping in even if you are not staying there. The hotel was very clean and pleasant with ample parking.

  Work had been done on the boiler a short while before which had left a smell on the main landing,this I am sure will clear up very quickly. There was no evening meal on Sunday.

  The Manor is charming and the bed was quite comfortable.

  Getting the television to work with the Digital box was a bit tricky but it was fine once I figured it out (I think one of the remotes needed new batteries).

  pleasant staff

  rooms were tired and shoddy.(dado rail missing, paintwork needing updating) Would expect better for the price. Also, shower did not work well.
