    Excellent facillities in a wonderful location. We were upgraded and got more for our money than we'd expected. The hotel is in a fine position. An excellent cluster of buidlings with some fine features. A well stocked bar. Responsive staff who sought to meet customers needs. Food quality good.

    A small point - surprising portion control limitations at breakfast time. I've stayed in less expensive places where there was greater choice and flexibility.

    Comfortable and food was good.

    Noisy re-fill of toilet cistern. No heating in the romm even though evenings were cold in our marvellous July weather.

    Hotel very clean, helpful friendly staff

    Evening meals overpriced, meal on 2nd night was a disaster not as nice as 1st night. sweets definitely overpriced.

    Made very welcome on arrival. Room was cleanand a good size. Nice restaurant and lounge area. Good location

    "This was a truly excellent experience and we look forward to coming again. It is a small and friendly hotel - with the welcome smiles off the proprieters we knew immediately that our stay would be enjoyable and comfortable. This was confirmed with the friendly,quiet and unobstrusive attention of the staff at dinner. The quality of the food was excellent. We were looking for accomodation in Llandudno but this was the nearest suitable accomodation we could find at that late stage. In the future, this will certainly be our first port of call if we need accomodation in this area." (97684440)

    "Mutton dressed as lamb! I was told food was excellent, but prawn cocktail only basic and thought fillet was more sirloin! Apple pie home baked-- did not think so. I do not like being called mate etc.!" (97487150)

    "Overall it is in a lovely location and suited our needs, I noted that we seemed to be putting the owner out by staying in the bar late (10pm on one night), which was disappointing. " (97341781)

    The Hotel is very pleasant and the rooms were very clean.

    We were a large group that literally took over the place, when we arrived we were told the kitchen was closing at 7.30pm!!! The a la carte menu is pricey not worth the money, their set menu is more value for money, although don't expect gourmet dining. We also requested pack lunches which were also very expensive.

    The inn keeper was extra-ordinarily friendly and welcoming.

    Too expensive for the room and services. The meals were adequate but not outstanding.

    Extremely clean. Lovely.

    The sofa bed for one of my children. I like them in beds and I unhappy that I had to make the sofa bed up on the first day (especially as I had put on the booking form the number of adults and children).

    Having read previous reviews concerning the poor outside appearance of the hotel we were pleasantly surprised on arrival and thought that the previous comments were a little unfair. It is true that the frontage is not striking but by no means tatty or uninviting. Once you sample the delights of this hotel the old saying that you must never judge a good book by its cover comes to mind. We were welcomed by the owner who showed us to our accommadation (family suite)and who could not do enough to make us feel at home instantly. The room was impressive and large enough to allow our two playful boys plenty of space! The room like the rest of the hotel was imaculately clean. All the staff were pleasant and like the owners could not do enough for us. We ate evening meal twice at the hotel choosing the bar meal menu available up to 7 pm. We were not going to eat at the hotel the second night but it was so good on the first night that we could not resist it again. The food was gorgeous, well presented and piping hot. Our young 4 yr old was catered for and able to have a half portion from the main menu as an alternative from the normal childrens menu which for people with children is a great bonus. The hotel is well situated and all the North Wales attractions are only a short drive away. All in all a fabulous break and we will certainly be back.

    Freindly staff. The room was independant of hotel which was more private. Breakfast was good.

    Strong smell of cats in bathroom,which was small and the sink was in the bedroom.The bedroom was of a low budget hotel and did not reflect the price of the room.

    "This hotel is superbly located for the main attractions of North Wales being fairly equally split between Conwy and Betws y coed. The first impressions of the hotel let it down considerably with tatty flags and bad chalk boards detailing the food available. The hotel itself is clean and the owners go out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The bedrooms were a delight and we sincerely hope they will adopt the same approach to the front of house decor. The young male chef was/is a find - one of us is a very fussy eater being intolerant to dairy products and a veggie to boot. He came up with some super choices and all food was freshly cooked to order. Overall not a honeymooner destination or even something special, but it wouldn't take much to make it so, but very good value for money and a pleasant stay is almost guarranteed." (3304870394)

    The bedrooms were lovely bright and fresh. The change of linen over 3 nights and the daily fresh towels were most welcome. It is a little sad that the front of house part of the hotel looks dated even though it is clean. Overall on first arrival it is not impressive and looks more like a seaside hotel.

    "The food was excellent, the welcome received from the resident proprietors was first class, and they are clearly taking steps to renew and refurbish the hotel to a good standard. The hotel is a good example of its type, but we would perhaps have preferred to have known in advance that the bedrooms were separate from the main building. Nevertheless we would re visit in the knowledge that the owners are doing all they can to upgrade and improve the facilities, and because of the location, food and welcome that guests will undoubtedly receive."     The situation was in a quiet relaxing location yet near to local attractions and Conwy town. The rooms are situated in a bungalow type location reached from a central lobby and lounge and have all necessary facilities

    No significant comment but the rooms open out on to a covered but open verandha which may be off putting to some people. This also leads to increased noise although we did not experience any substantiial problems.

    The hotel is set in quiet and peacefull location with stunning views. The room was larger than average and had a selection of videos to keep the children happy. The owners were very welcoming and the breakfast was very good.

    "I can recommend the hotel to any one who wants a home from home atmosphere. Unlike larger hotels were there is an impersonal approach, the staff made you feel at home upon arrival. At the lodge you feel like you are staying with friends who provided the best food and accommodation, the surrounding views and beautiful countryside are some of the best in Wales, yet you are only minutes away from local towns and cities.     "From the moment Chris and I arrived at the hotel we were greated in a lovely warm and sincere way by the owner Neil and his wife Denise, they have a teenage family who also were equally as friendly and hard working,nothing was too much trouble, in fact we were even helped to our room with all the baggage, we were treated very very well and i commented to Neil that we felt quite spoilt, it was great for us to get away even for one night, the hotel was situated in a rather 'tranquil' area of the country side, the decor was excellent and had a real comfortable feel it to, during our stay we booked the evening meal, well another story, the food was absolutely excellent, we have eaten out many many times but the standards here at the Lodge were second to none, we were very impressed, the presentation was lovely the portions very generous, and nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff, the prices were more than reasonable, in fact i really expected to pay more than we did! I'm sure you will agree you can't put a proce on quality or service, i would recommend you visit the Lodge and share in the experience, we are glad we did!     The hotel was nicely set out, with a very warm atmosphere, very family focused in fact we felt positively spoilt during our stay!

    We did not really have any dislikes and were quite impressed by the whole experience, it was a much needed break away, however we both agreed that as the accommodation was styled around individual lodges (hense the hotel name)the room was a little on the cold side (the weather not being great)the heating did come on twice a day but we found the room a little chilly in between, i would definitely be happy to stay again but it would be even more enjoyable in the summer months, the bed and decor were excellent, and all the facilities were lovely and in excellent working order.
