    "Pleasant stay for our purpose of attending the Thursford show,probably would be be better in summer with more happening to bring hotel to life." (107377988)

    Pleasant staff, comfortable beds.

    Although bedroom warm many areas very cold.Being December weather very cold, for evening meal we were seated in raised area next to bar,no heating at all visable so by the end of our meal we were extremely cold!

    "Vey pleasant environment both inside and outside." (108417041)

    Very clean, power shower, excellent value for money, friendly staff and perfectly cooked breakfast on Saturday Morning.

    Extractor Fan switched off in the bathroom so got very misty after shower. Once we discovered the switch and turned it on everything was fine. Breakfast on Sunday took a while and did not meet the excellent standard set on our first night.

    Suited our location needs

    Difficult to find. Slightly run down and unloved feel. Empty on the night we stayed which was a Saturday. Over priced for the accommodation standard.

    Faulty kettle quickly replaced. Good breakfast, with slow service - a buffet would be better (no sign of the promised fruit & yogurt).

    Room small with small soft bed. Resturant menu in evening very basic with a noisy bar next door - we went elsewhere.

    easy to find,friendly staff,food good,brilliant shower.

    The room could have been bigger,onsite parking was lacking somewhat.

    "If you get to choose your room then definately go with one featuring the oak ceiling beams and a skylight window instead of river view which was alot smaller. There is a gorgeous Restaurant called Qs Coffee Shop and Bistro about 5 minutes walk from Hotel - food was delicious and staff extremely helpful - really good value for money " (107267680)

    "For an overnight it was perfect. Being on my own the room was very comfortable but a little too small if my husband and been travelling with me." (107105843)

    Excellent service from the staff. Clean and comfortable room. Breakfast was tasty.

    TV remote not working and TV signal wasnt very good. Radio alarm wasn't working properly.

    Only critiscism when we went for an evening meal cleaning materials left on an adjoining table. Also service on the Sunday breakfast was slow - not enough staff on for the number of guests

    "The building looks impressive from the outside however on entering the reception the inside appeared dated and unwelcoming. The bedroom was described as a small double and was very small and the river view included an industrial estate and Superbowl. The local clientelle in the bar were roudy and foul mouthed later in the evening." (97862299)

    Very powerful shower and nice clean, white bedding and towels. The breakfast was generous and of good quality

    Over priced in comparison with other local accomodation, seemed very short staffed. Bed was uncomfortable. Breakfast not available before 8.30am at weekends

    "We were given the impression this was a hotel - it turned out to bea pub with accommodation which immediately gave us a very negative impression. Our room was described as small which we accepted as it had a river view, but didn't realise that the bed was also small. Entering the hotel through the pool room also created a negative impression. The fact that both windows were stuck shut didn't help, and in the summer I would imagine the noise from the smoking area would be unbearable." (97207498)

    "Very dissapointing over night stay. The room was awful, the bed was uncomfortable. The smell from the kitchen downstairs impregnated the room. The was not even a proper reception it was a desk by the bar. When we arrived I was just shocked at customers heavily drinking whilst i was standing there to check in with my bags. The bathroon was like a sauna despite sub zero temperatues and smelt of gas, I assume from the kitchen below - the bedroom window had to be left open all night (-7 outside!). No toilet paper in the room etc etc etc" (97444156)

    The breakfast was delicious, but dining area was freezing and coat was needed. Waitress at breakfast was also very helpful.

    The location was ideal for our requirements, close to both the racecourse and town centre.

    Could hear noises from adjoining rooms, tv and snoring especially.

    I cannot praise the Staff of the WENSUM enough.Everyone was more than helpful and friendly during the whole of my stay.Thoroughly enjoyable.It is close to walk to town and the racecourse

    "A nice pleasant reasonably priced Hotel with easy access to the town and surrounding area, better suited to short breaks." (97599409)

    Ideally located in Fakenham, pubs and restaurants accessible internet access was a plus point.

    Looks dated and needs a makeover, the breakfast was excellent however no proper coffee only sachets and hot water!

    "A shame that no-one ate in the restaurant. The food was excellent and the house wine was also excellent. Good value for money. Breakfast was good although the first morning the staff thought everyone had already been down for breakfast. Not a problem though, it was soon sorted out. Felt that the bar was a little tired looking. Didn't really like people who had conference that day coming in whilst I was still eating my breakfast." (97005053)

    Location

    We were put in a smoking room when we had asked for non-smoking. Limited choice of evening meals, so we ate elswhere.
