"A perfectly comfortable hotel in a great location in a lovely village. Way too expensive though." (107358219)

Excellent location in the heart of the town, right near gardens and the castle. Parking directly outside although it is NOT part of the hotel, it's public parking, so you need to be lucky, otherwise just park a little further up the town. Breakfast very nice, staff helpful and polite.

The room was cold when we arrived, it appeared that the heating system was on a timer as it came on about two hours later. The decor can be described as "quaint". Magnolia walls with flowery borders. This is not a modern hotel. Breakfast is nice, but served in a restaurant about 30 yards away from the hotel, so you have to go outside and walk along the road. It's not a really bad thing...........just odd. Lastly, the cost. This hotel is fine and comfortable, but it is in no way worth £100 a night for a double room. In fact, just about everything in Dunster is expensive. Food, drink, shops are all nothing far short of a rip off. If you don't care about that, the place is very beautiful and a perfect country retreat.

Finding suitable parking space was tricky

    "very good.Nice friendly staff." (97808260)

    Very comfortable and clean .

The part of the hotel were my room was situated felt a bit impersonal as it was separate from the reception etc. When i came to check out there was no one around I wasn't sure whether i'd actually paid on booking over the internet etc. Someone came immediately and helped very efficiently but it wasn't quite the same as having a proper reception area.

It was very basic and the web site did not inform people that the accomadation was in an annex with very poor quality furniture and fittings did not work properley. one electrical fitting was sparking when used.

"I would not stay at, or eat in this hotel again." (99048370)

    The Central position in Dunster

The food was of a poor standard. The bathroom smelt of urine.

"In fairness we enjoyed our stay at the Hotel. I was just a little taken aback at the size of the dinningroom as it most certainly could not accommodate all the hotel guests. We had to wait for a table - again not a problem but it took the staff a little while to sort it out and I feel that they were a little overwhelmed with the number of guests arriving in all at once. It would also be nice to have bath towels." (99385607)

The accommodation was clean and pleasant, The room was large as was the bathroom.

In this day and age it would make more sense to have a shower and therfore the bathroom floor should preferably be tiled.

"We enjoyed our stay. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was good. We particularly liked the additional room in the suite - ideal for families with older children." (99532997)

We were staying with our 19 year old son and were pleased with the amount of space in the two room suite

"We had a very pleasant time, and it was good to see that there are on-going plans for further development of the facility. The use of the hotel for the whole community was also good to see. Pity we aren't close enough to get involved with your musical activities. Lots of potential. We'll be back!" (99226064)

Good, friendly service, comfortable room, ideally suited for our purpose. Good view from the room, overlooking the High Street, Yarn Market. The whole complex still retains some of its character as part of Dunster's history.

Car parking was difficult (does that count?). Interesting geography.

"The food was not really good vaule for money. I have tea in the hotel as i had just been on the train for 7 hours and didnt really want to go out. I had a 3 course meal for around " (99788159)

The staff were really friendly and helpful and i felt like i could go to them with any problems that i had

The room was pretty cold, it warmed up after a while but i dont think the windows were double glazing and it could be noisy at times.

"Yarn Market hotel has plenty of character, it was nice and quiet in January, it is central to Dunster and close to coast and Exmoor. Staff were very friendly and helpfull, some improvements were ongoing (during quieter period) but it did not detract from our visit. Parling outside good for us but may be difficult during high season, big car park within 5 mins walk." (99082346)

    Quiet and central to dunster.

Absence of bar but other pubs within walking distance.

"Generally good but disappointed with no bar or room to relax away from the bedroom, had to go and find bar at another place. Parking difficult, had to park in car park away from the hotel and wait for a space late in the day." (3305148575)

    Bright and cheerful room

No bar and seemed odd that there was no full time receptionist.
