  "We had really looked forward to a retreat from the world, with a bit of romance thrown in. The setting of the hotel, and the grounds promised much. Unfortunately, the actuality was much more prosaic. It's a grand base from which to explore the countryside, but it isn't the refuge from the world we had wanted." (107348333)

  Lovely setting, very pleasant staff, great gym. It seemed to be very child-friendly.

  It all felt a bit industrial: brash lighting in the bar that was a corridor to bedrooms; huge, badly laid out dining room... It didn't feel like there was a quiet, private place to sit. The food was very ordinary, very average hotel food. It didn't really feel like the treat we had looked for. For the amount we paid, we would have been able to stay somewhere much more comfortable and luxurious.

  "I would dearly like to go back here and spend a few days with my wife simply absobing the calm and serenity both of the hotel and the countryside. The staff are warm, friendly and welcoming. As soon as I arrived I was asked to sign the prepopulated guest form and directed to my room with the offer to help with luggage. I can highly recommend for business or pleasure." (97664500)

  This hotel is an oasis of calm. Delightfully situated overlooking a small lake in the middle of the Midland country side the hotel offers great value for money. It has a delighful dining room and the bar food is excellent both in quantity and quality. It has a well equipped and spacioius gym and swimimg pool.

  In keeping with so many other establishments they have teapots that leave nearly as much on the saucer as in the cup!

  Room was very nice. As we were staying there on our 1st wedding anniversary, I asked them in advance was there anything special they could do for us. They upgraded us to a suite. There was a lovely walk along the lake side close to the Hotel. The breakfast was lovely.

  You had to go through the bar to get to our room. There was a very big wedding there at the time and it was a bit awkward with bags.

  The staff

  The shower head was loose and the fire alarm went off at 4am

  "Our room contained a four poster bed, a sofa coffee table and two arm chairs.A bowl of fruit and a decanter of port(small amount) was left for us.The Hotel was in an excellent site adjacent to a lake. The Staff were most welcoming, although the Bar staff were a little slow. The choice of food was very good.we will return again to this lovely hotel." (99599299)

  very spacious room. nice view of a lake.excellent food.Employees in general verry helpful.

  "i would recomend this hotel to anybody. the food was very good and staff could not do enought to help you. did not get a chance to try the leisure complex but will be trying them on my next visit" (99091972)

  the staff were very helpfull and the 24hour service was perfect

  could not get broadband in the bedrooms

  "This has the potential to be the best hotel in Ireland but there were shortcomings in the restuarant and the general state of the hotel." (99466210)

  Superb location.

  "Generally good. The only real negative point was that reception had no information available on restaurant menu (at 5pm)and made no offer to get it." (3305147033)

  Good quality, clean room and provisions (towels, bed linen etc). Bar food OK and reasonable value.

  Some untidiness in bar area - carpet didn't seem to have been vacuumed for a couple of days.

  "Would book again, would avoid breakfast." (3304787152)

  Location, view, size of room.

  Cooked breakfast had been under grill for ages, very dry and not pleasent at all and the service was very slow.
