    despite checking in after 4 our room was not ready. We were told we could go to the bar for a drink, but we were not even offered this as "on the house" - the room was not ready until after 5pm

    "We had a local event at the SECC and needed somewhere central just for the one night. No frills, no fancy bar/restuarant, no spa/sauna/jacuzzi/swimming pool - just a cheap room in the city centre and this was perfect. For all I knew the guest house/hotel could have had the above facilities, but it didn't matter. Ok the curtains were abit dated but whoopydoo, they had curtains and they were thick good ones. I wasnt exacting tea and coffee but we got some. Overall it was a good guest house in a good central location and it was great value for money, (having searched on may comparison sites for a great deal I had noticed that alot of places had bumped their proces up on the nights of events - the Agnus/Argyll didn't) " (107450479)

    Simple layout, good central location, everything was in working order, the staff were polite and helpful. You get exactly what you pay for.

    For the purpose of my stay, there were no bad points. The only thing I would suggest is to be becareful if you are a lone female in that area.

    on suit bathroom. free veiw tv. clean towels.

    pillows were too lumpy and uncofortable. and the room was cold considering the time of year there were no teaspoons in the room.

    "I found the stay at the hotel to be exactly as I imagined it would be for a guest house and price paid. I did not expect the height of luxury but found it very comfortable , quiet and extremely convenient for city centre taxis and the kelvingrove art gallery made trip worthwhile on its own."     "Apart from the smallness of the room everything else was satisfactory and the staff were helpful and friendly. It would perhaps be useful to know that the reception is accross the street in the Argyll Hotel and the Angus is not staffed, though there is CCT in operation" (97862016)

    Very clean, spacious room

    I am a light sleeper and the room was facing the main road therefore I had trouble sleeping due to the noise of traffic and people during the night. A room facing away from the road would have suited me better if there is such a thing.

    "Overall it met all my needs, at a very good price. Room was small-ish, but fine. Bed was comfortable, everything was clean and well-presented. Checking in across the road was a minor hassle, but not a big deal. Entrance slightly confusing, as it states Argyll over the door rather than Angus, with Angus on a separate sign nearer the street corner. Digital TV (Freeview or Freesat) would have been nice, but not a big deal." (97288973)

    "The hotel was clean and well-positioned for exploring the city. The room was a good size with a full bathtub in the ensuite. Furnishings were adequate but unremarkable. The staff was as helpful as necessary, but not overly friendly and didn't offer any assistance such as recommendations of places to see even though they are a block from some major museums, art gallery. Staff in the restaurant largely ignored you unless spoken to. The food was overcooked and full of grit. Although the outside door is secured with a key and they advertise camera security, I did not feel safe in a ground floor room facing onto the street with a simple bathroom type doorknob lock and no extra chains or bolts. You have to cross a busy road to check in and to use the restaurant in the main hotel across the street." (99103205)

    Very convenient to city center, museums etc.

    No safety features--single simple lock on door; no bolt chain or deadlock. On ground floor with windows facing street. Insufficient security and curtaining on windows.

    Nice, spacious room. Clean and simple in a relly good location, Great value for money.

    No car parking available, had to park pn street and car must be moved every three hours during weekday days.

    "Before booking i would have liked to know the situation about having to cross a busy road at peak times for breakfast, and after eventually getting accross realising that they finished serving at 9, and missed out by 15 mins." (99339337)

    quick check inn and friendly staff.

    the bed and pillows were extremely uncomfortable, the nights sleep was awful.also having to cross the road for breakfast was a bit off and they could do with serving breakfast till half 9, as we missed out on it by 15 mins.

    The accomodation was a good price and it was near the places I wanted to go. The shower was excellent! Nice rooms.

    The cleaner stomping arond outside my room early in the morning. Also found hair on my bed.

    "We would like to have known the exact position of the Hotel as Sauchiehall street is a very long street and we were unable to obtain this so we incurred a very long walk to after parking in Argle Street. parking at the Hotel would be good. I would not stay in this Angus Hotel again.Also " (99947224)

    The toilets facilities were good and the cleanleness of the room was good.

    An unusual thing the toilet lights and main room light went out for 8 hours. Not much fun trying to find your way to the toilet in the middle of the night.We were in the basement and outsiders could stand and look in not very private.
