    Very friendly and efficient reception staff! Room was wonderful and the kitchen facilities and cutlery range impressive.

    Hot shower failed to work last few days.

    Very central location.

    Hard to justify the cost of the room given the facilities provided. The word 'appartment' is not appropriate. Two small beds in a room not much bigger. Slight doggie smell to the room. Squeeky floorboards everywhere, which is odd for a modern building. Hostel style accommodation should come with hostel style room rates. For what you pay here you would expect the operation to be a little more professional, and maybe a TV thrown in. Hiring a TV for the night would put the room rate in the same bracket as a proper hotel. Not justifiable.

    Central location. Space and clenliness were excellent.

    There were no bad points this was perfect accommodation if all you are looking for is a clean bed in central edinburgh without any frills.

    "We enjoyed reliving our student days in the only accommodation we could afford at festival time. Rooms were very basic and shared toilets often didnt have working hot water. " (97446658)

    Clean and comfortable. All that is needed for staying overnight.

    The noise from the courtyard / car parking area echoed and seemed very loud.

    We liked the convenience of the kitchen/sitting areas (which we had to ourselves) and the location so close to town. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the security good. Also good was a parking space.

    The early morning street sweeper made it impossible to have the window open. The door closers were vicious and constant banging of the doors an irritant - the closers are adjustable!! The pillows are too thin and the en suite bathroom facilities were not.

    "This accommodation was booked for 4 friends attending a college reunion.We would have liked to have had a self contained flat for 4. Is that a possibility? Although we were told the entire building was non smoking there was a strong smell of smoke everywhere. The noise from the Three Sisters was LOUD and after a brief pause boilers or something fired up at 6.15am. Not the most restful nightI had ever spent! The staff were friendly and helpful I feel for the price, the whole experience was fine. It suited our needs. Thank you" (99300186)

    "A great place to stay in Edinburgh - right downtown, close the old city and all the attractions, but also in walking distance of grocery stores. The facilites were good. Only downside was that internet was not available at the hostel." (99831339)

    Having a kitchen was great, as well as a common room. Also, the location is great - right downtown.

    No elevator :-P and no internet at the hostel.

    I liked the fact that I could receive calls direct while staying in the room.

    The stairs up to the check in section! As I had to carry everything myself (I was travelling alone) it was a bit of a haul.
