    "The surroundings and overall atmosphere of the hotel is very good - but we feel that to justify the price of the rooms there areas which could be improved to make it feel like a truly top class experience. Access to spa treatments and views not enough." (108764432)

    Very friendly staff, very good room size, easy parking and access, spa area is lovely.

    The bar area is tired and uninspiring and doesn't meet the quality of the other facilities - the furnishing and atmosphere is out of date, the bar wasn't as well stocked and the staff didn't seem particularly interested or informed.

    Lovely room, lovely spa and breakfast, paper delivered,

    The barman seemed a little stressed and kept reiterating he was the only member of stafff in - consequently we had quite a wait for two drinks!

    Assistance with booking taxi to leave

    The hotel/room allocated bore little resemblence to the hotel shown in the publicity. The room was very dirty, the corridors were dirty. The food in the restaurant was very poor. We were booked on a romantic break weekend with flowers and chocolates to greet on arrival. This did not happen. Very disappointing.

    Well appointed, clean and convenient hotel with very friendly and efficient staff. Bar food excellent.

    No real ale in the bar and the restaurant menu was unappealing however others might like it.

    Reception Staff were absolutely brilliant! Nothing too much trouble. Love the location of the hotel, and the surroundings are fantastic. Food was good if not a little limited. Bar service at the residents bar was great and friendly too, a rareity! Breakfast waitress, was attentive without being intrusive - a credit to the hotel

    Spa cleanliness could be better, and service in the restaurant was average. I don't feel that the superior room would have been value for money, if I had paid full price, but on the Active Hotels rate it was more than adequate - although i don't think i'd book a 'Standard' room.

    Hotel Staff are really friendly. Excellent breakfast wow factor bacon mmm

    All meals in hotel bar were £5.00 and when asking for a small portion of mash potato and veg for a 1 year old being charged £5.00 seemed a bit excessive. Shower in bathroom wasn't very powerful and although the bathroom itself was clean the pumping unit behind the toilet didn't smell too pleasant.

    Spa really - Sauna not working, Steam room as effective as a kettle in a bathroon, massage was just a rub down, recliners tired, changing rooms not so clean

    Love the free access to the hot pool, sauna, and steam room. Very relaxing stay.

    The hotel itself (or Active Hotel) lost my reservation but luckily they had vacancies.

    Friendly, helpfull staff, food was very good, spa was excellent. Although this hotel is on a main road it was very quiet and relaxing. In fact we initially booked for one night but liked it so much we deceided to stay another night.

    "we arrived to check in a little early bout 1.30 and room was unavailable,came back at 4 and were told it still wasn't ready could we wait...after complaining we were given another room with a bottle of wine to compensate... we wanted a lazy sunday in spa but unfortunately sauna was broken."     the spa was nice apart from sauna not workin one day.food in restaurant was nice and good value

    the room though adequate in the sleeping area was poor in bathroom lookin tatty ,shower was all but a squirt of water

    room rather dated and dark; small window. View poor. Bed not a natural double but 2 singles put together and tv in strange location in room made it difficult to watch from bed.

    Particularly liked the room size and cleanliness. The whole hotel had a quality feel to it.

    Nothing serious, food could have been hotter on a couple of occasions.Pool area lacked a litter bin, with plastic cups lying about. Blinds in 'gazebo' reqire attention.

    Our room was nicely lite with a pleasant out look, the spar area was fantastic and gave my fiancee and I time to relax and enjoy the pleasant surroundings of the hotel

    due to the sheer amount of visitors over the valentine period We felt that the restaurant table service was not at its best. However the food was fantastic all five courses of our evening meal's were well prepared and presented, and top marks for the full english breakfast's

    "There were very few people staying there the night we stayed and consequently the dining room was just us and a sole business traveler. Not the hotel's fault that the dining room lacked atmosphere but didn't make for a great experience especially when next table being set out for breakfast. Food ok though and waitress very friendly."     Room was clean and functional but quite small. Bathroom was by contrast very roomy. Didn't use the spa but it looked ok. Menu covered all the bases and food was good.

The 'superior' room was excellent, very large, and tastefully decorated, with tea/coffee, trouser press, etc. indeed, everything you would expect from a Hotel charging much higher tariffs. The food was of the highest quality, served smoothly and efficiently. I have stayed at many Hotels over the years, both abroad, and in the U.K. This is definitely in my top 5." (97685833)

    The accommodation was very nice. The Spa pool, sauna and steam room were fantastic by allowing you to relax in a peaceful surrounding. The food and service in the restaurant was great, and our room was very nice.

    Hotel is in a lovely setting. Accommodation was clean and of a good size. Staff were friendly.

    Shelf on which kettle was placed was loose and kettle fell to floor when full of boiling water.
