    Staff cheerful & helpful, breakfast excellent, bed comfortable

    Decor of room tired, especially carpets. No shower rail & curtain. No residents lounge, it would have been awkward had the weather been dreadful

    "Good hotel on the whole. (Went to Alnwick Castle next day - expensive and little really to do but look at rich peoples possessions and dull collections of old pots and military junk!)Much better castles around." (108950667)

    Nice big bedrooms, pleasant location. Good breakfasts.

    None really, although the Pizza in the restaurant was very tough - we asked for a steak knife and this made little difference!

    This hotel was excellent value for money, I was really impressed with the size and quality of the room. breakfast was also really good. My only feedback for improvement is that the pillow were not very good, They were really flat and uncomfortable.

    Very clean room. Food in the restaurant was good if a bit pricey. Nice and quiet.

    Bar bill price. Like most hotels its a complete rip-off, especially the wine. Bedroom needed a comfortable chair. Net curtains on the windows would be a good idea so that the main curtains could be opened without letting people see in.

    Really friendly staff. Restaurant was excellent.

    Bath in my parents room broke and couldn't be fixed while we were there, but the hotel did write a letter of appology while we were there.

    "For two nights it was adequate for our purpose. There was some confusion on check in as I had a print-out indicating that there was a party of four, in two rooms whereas the hotel had been notified of only three guests in two rooms. Breakfast, though plentiful, was overcooked with very tough bacon and black pudding." (107144543)

    Very helpful staff serving at the bar and breakfast. Cleanliness of the room Lounge facilities where we could sit in an evening and, if desired, play cards

    Room overlooked building site. A pity in such a beautiful part of the country. Extractor fan from kitchen was very audible For same price friends had a better view. A duvet without sheet is inflexible. It is either all or nothing.

    "Unusual in layout, on the ground floor where you check in is a well furnished bar, on the 1st floor is the superb Italia Plus resturant serving excellent food and the top floor are the large well furnished bedrooms.     Comfortable beds, clean rooms, helpful staff, nicely decorated.

    The room was over the kitchen and banging doors in the kitchen kept us awake. Also cooking smells permeated the room.

    It was not clear where hotel reception was located.We mentioned this to the proprietor and he took appropriatre action. The hotel had no lifts, even though reception was on the first floor and our room waas on the second floor.This was not mentioned in the description on the website and my medical condition makes it difficult for me to climb stairs.
