    "Poor value for money" (108679253)

    Receptionist was very pleasant and did attempt to deal with our complaint in as best a manner as was possible and a replacement room was found. (Room initially offerred was unacceptable.)

    A shame our replacement room was dingy and had an unsupportive bed. The receptionists thought the bed was a year old. It felt like 5 years old. 2nd sitting - Breakfast was not a happy experience, waiting for service, food barely acceptable and other tables left uncleared and floor around tables dirty.

    "Very pleasant stay, but we do like hotels with a little more going on so for this reason would not choose this hotel for a future week end break. However if we were in the area for a particular occasion or reason where we needed somewhere to stay we would have no qualms about booking here again." (108585501)

    Quaint and homely. Hotel had a nice feel to it. Parking was very good.

    It lacked some of the features that you come to expect with larger hotels.

    Room was very stylish and surroundings very nice.

    Room was very small and more suited to single occupancy. Breakfast was very poor, not what I would have expected in a four star hotel.

    Beautiful inn, high standard of room, set in pretty village with pubs close by! Clean and bright! Quiet and relaxing

    English Breakfast was very poor, asked for baked beans and got a teaspoon full! Poached egg was very hard! Dining Room/Breakfast room too cramped, too many tables for the space, had to move people to get past, not good! Staff were difficult to understand, because of their foreign accent

    "Would definitely stay there again, right in the centre of the old town with access to lots of bars and restuarants. We booked through active hotels which had a discount. Would say the normal rate of £140 for a newer room is too much for what you get." (97623935)

    Good location, good parking, reasonable facilities, pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff.

    room lighting not great, difficult to access wardrobe (room 5) reported lamp out in bathroom but not fixed. Generally the hotel was having problems with the room key cards.

    "We arrived well before the check-in time. The reception staff immediately contacted the room service staff to ensure our room was made available as soon as possible. We were served coffee whilst we waited. Within 20 mins we were in our room probably 5 hours before check-in. Excellent customer service which continued throughout our short stay. Excellent parking and although the hotel serves only breakfast there are many good restaurants within a few minutes walk." (97764541)

    nothing - the outside of the building is great. Inside is a crime. Do not go here under any circumstances

    Everything. Who could have destroyed such a beautiful hotel - I've stayed before 7 years ago before Zola destroyed it with this MFI refit.

    "Had a very enjoyable stay, the room was spacious with old world charm of ceiling beams mixed with modern fittings of an open plan bathroom tastfully decorated. The hotel had excellant parking facilities and we were not disturbed by the potential noise element from the bar which seemed to attract a younger element. A very pleasent stay." (97562152)

    We stayed in suite 1 and the room was very clean and spacious.

    The air bath didn't work and the room was very cold with just the one radiator to heat a huge room.

    "Room wasn't ready when we arrived, despite phoning ahead to make sure we could check in. Room not great despite it being a deluxe suite & not as clean as I would have expected. Room was facing the road so noisy in the morning & breakfast was quite chaotic with not enough staff available to deal with the influx of people.     our room was full of character,the bed was comfortable, the bathtub was big enough to relax in

    oposite the kitchen - we had changed rooms to be at the back where it was quieter away from the road, but were woken by the kitchen staff preparing breakfast. We returned to the room at midday and the room had still not been serviced.

    Musty smell on ground floor despite a new build in a barn. Too hot even though only 18c, and windows would only open 1/2inch reason given to stop smokers leaning out of window.

    It was very clean and exceptionally well decorated. We had an incredibly comfortable stay and in general the staff were helpful and friendly.

    The hotel was busy, so the restaurant was rather cramped at breakfast time!

    "Although the restaurants in the local area were exceptional it is strange to find a hotel especially 4 star that does not have a restaurant (other than for breakfast). The room arrangement and facilites were good but lacked some of the extras that are expected from a 4 star hotel." (99401899)

    The Character, very old world and quaint, perfect for the location

    For a 4 star hotel I was disappointed that there was no mini bar in the room, or at least a complimentary bottle of water. Both of these are essential in my opinion especially when the hotel does not have room service
