    food was excellent though very rich.

    room was small with only one chair and one bedside light. the shower did not work well if used at a busy time in the morning.

    The food was excellent, all of the staff were friendly and efficient, the Hotel looked good and had a nice feel about it

    The room was too hot for us and we found the pillows a bit hard for our liking

    Rooms well maintained, good quality and quantity of full English breakfast, staff very helpful and friendly, adequate car parking for all guests.

    Rooms are heated but not air conditioned, but this is a general fault with most of the hotels we stayed at, causing some issues on warmer nights

    Very hospitable and caring hosts; hotel very clean and warm, comfortable bed; food was of exceptional: interesting menu, freshly cooked, tasty. We are not used to eating a full English breakfast so only had cereal and poached eggs. We had as many cups of tea as we wanted both at breakfast and during the day when sitting in the lounge chatting to our son whom we had gone to visit.

    both the staff and service were excellent. all very polite. breakfast was really nice. room was really clean and kept nice.

    werent really any but there could have been more choice on restaurant menu.

    Bed was large and very comfortable and meals were very good.

    Room could have been made more hospitable -a couple of chairs to sit and watch tV in -there was room for this. Bathroom very small and temp in shower difficult to control. Didn't like all the rules - reminiscent of a seaside landlady.

    Opened Restaurant on Sunday evening just for us. Changed menu to accommodate food intolerances. Very friendly staff who were always happy to help.

    "Although only a short stay,thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The staff were first class - friendly,efficient and well presented,the room was everything we required, and the food in the restaurant was second to none and excellent value for money with breakfast a real treat.     Room was excellent,clean and well appointed Service from staff was first class Food in the restaurant was superb and represented exceptional value for money( the fillet beef was the finest I've ever experienced - bar none !

    None - except I originally had a two night reservation but due to work commitments was only able to stay one night.

    the staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to accommodate our 8 month old daughter. nigel's food was outstanding

    the slop bucket outside the dining hall. The chef obviously cares about his food and creates fantastic dishes. This is spoilt however by viewing others leftovers scraped in a plastic tub on a tray directly outside the entrance to the dining hall. Rather offputting and is surely something that should be done in the kitchen

    "If you stay here make sure you can eat in the restaurant as the food is wonderful local food cooked to prefection. The room I had - large double at the front was calm restful and very comfortable. The couple who run the hotel are to be commended on their friendliness and welcome to all guests. I cannot wait to stay here again, it is a small local guesthouse with lovely features" (97219789)

    "Warm welcome, room & bathroom were airy & kept very clean, all facilities were provided, very good food from a selective menu & service prompt with a smile. Adequate safe parking which is a big consideration. Good all round value for money. Only one minor dislike & that was the the lounge which could do with a facelift but the owners already have that in hand." (97225156)

    It was warm and comfortable and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was delicious.

    Still some upgrade work being done on the bedroom. But, we looked at this as a positive step as what can be seen as part of a program to upgrade the facilities with the minimum amount of disruption.

    "This is the second time we have stayed here. The food is always good and the owners are welcoming. The staff did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. There are quite strict rules about keeping the hotel in its pristine condition but we are grateful that others left the rooms in the condition that we liked to find them." (97881438)

    The accommodation was very clean , everything you needed was in the room, with clear instructions for use and also instructionsfor all eventualities. The bathroom was of a high standard ,fully equipped and spotlessly clean. The owners were most accommodating as nothing was too much trouble.

    There was nothing to dislike!
