    Excellent service and wonderful food. Enjoyed the first partridge of the season, beautifully cooked. Fantastic to pass by the Harringworth viaduct on the way to the hotel - very impressive. All the villages in the locality are very pretty.

    Only slight niggle is that you can't check in between 3pm and 6pm, but this is a very minor point compared to all the good points.

    quiet, friendly, nice wee pub, barman remembered me from previous visit over a year ago. safe parking out back. very relaxing and rustic

    nothing to do outside the hotel as you are in the middle of nowhere (car a must), but thats not the hotels fault. TV rubbish. No wireless connection and very poor O2 reception from inside hotel.

    Extremley friendly welcome, excellent food, very reasonably priced and well presented.

    Slightley cramped in bathroom, but to be expected in accomodation of this type, everything else great.

    Lovely peaceful village setting. Staff were welcoming and friendly. The hotel was comfortable, clean and smart. The food was excellent.

    Room whilst small(it is an old building)was clean and welcoming. Staff were welcoming, polite and helpful. Food was good, though perhaps little pricey, but that may be the going rate locally.

    A lovely warm welcome, we were very well looked after, prompt table booking in restaurant and were even offered breakfast outside of the normal time or offered a tray in the room - great service.

    the pub was excellent value for money set in a lovely village, the views were spetacular especially of the nearby viaduct.a good base for touring. the owner/staff were excellent and the food very very good without being over priced. a good selection of guest beers and wines.i would stay here again and would recomend it.

    Lovely 16th century inn with quaint bedrooms in a beautiful village setting. The staff were friendly and it was extremely quiet at night ... and during the day.

    "The Staff were absolutely excellent. The lounge bar provides a very warm welcoming and friendly environment with plenty of friendly interaction with other guests, staff and locals alike.     "The staff were all very friendly and attentive and the three evening meals I had were all excellent. Breakfast which was included in the price was also very good and plentifull. I would have no hesitation in recomending this hotel and will most certainly use it again." (97507875)

    The room was clean and freshly decorated. The bed was very comfortable. The room was warm as these were cold evenings and mornings and although the central heating went off at around 10:00 pm the room had an electric radiator which proved very efficient. The ensuite was clean and well equipped.

    The building is very old and therefor the stairs to the bedrooms would prove impossable to anyone with a movement disability.

    "The pub/hotel has been run by the present owners for just a year. They have tastefully decorated the rooms, which are well maintained and clean although the ensuit bathroom was small. The pub is a charming 16th century building in a small, pretty village.The food is excellent, the staff and owners very friendly and welcoming. There is good parking and it is easy to find.     The pub/hotel was small, staff very friendly and welcoming, room was tastefully decorated.

    Nothing, except the bathroom was very small but considering the pub was 16th century it wasn't surprising!

    "The hotel is the village pub and the location is delightful but not far from the road network. Dinner was an Italian themed evening for the public clientele. The food was excellent, but it was difficult to get a table. Food was very good indeed, but there was no morning paper offered or an early call and it was disconcerting to have to go into the bar to check in." (97251870)

    A very good experience. Friendly staff, great breakfast, very comfortable accomodation. Nice location too. I had to drive around 30 miles to get there but it was well worth it.
