    Makkelijk te vinden en zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel.

    behulpzaam personeel

    bedden zijn klein en oud. dunne kamerwanden waardoor het erg luidruchtig is als er andere gasten aariveren of vertrekken. laat ontbijt, mag wel wat eerder dan 07.30h achterstallig onderhoud van het hotel. luidruchtige mensen op het terras op de binnenplaats tot laat bierdrinkend.

    "probably the worst place we have stayed" (108382969)

    not a good check in,room very dated and not clean,as this was the exspensive four poster room it was very noisy from the air con ? units outside,set out of the room did not work,toilet was very hard to flush,towels were stained,carpet in a bathroom?. entrance to the resturant from the courtyard was very dirty dead flies on window sill, being vegitarian i asked for an extra egg instead of the meat for breakfast i did not get this,the breakfast was not very hot

    Excellent staff service, friendly and accommodating. Will be going back again soon and each time visiting that area will try and book there. Management only too willing to assist with all requests.

    very friendly staff in front, bar. Very pretty building.

    room was very VERY dusty. Carpet was not hoovered and even the tea cups had a thick layer of dust. At 11 cleaner barged into room when I was half dressed and took ages to leave, apologising, with door wide open!

    Excellent breakfast. Good ents in bar, but could have been very intrusive if an early night was required. Finished at 11pm. Room was right over bar

    Shower drain appeared blocked. Toilet cistern constantly dripping appears ball valve rubber was ineffective. Light in hall way of room constantly trying to turn itself on appears the starter was faulty but there was no light switch to silence it. TV reception poor.

    Room presentation and cleanliness Good to have wireless internet although had to stand in corridor to get a signal at times.

    Couldn't open window and weather was vey hot - although appreciatated fan being provided. Thought Coldplay was an unusual choice of music for the restaurant and it was played every breakfast.

    THE FIRST ROOM i WAS SHOWN TOO WAS APPALLING AND AS THE POLICY is to charge you on your credit card 48 hrs. before arrival you have no choice.

    "OK but certainly would not stay there again unless we were promised that standards had been significantly improved. It will be interesting to see if anyone form the hotel/company reads this Review and offers to do anything to rectify the poor impression we got from this stay." (107663953)

    Food was good and staff were friendly and helpful but lacked any initiative. Room was cosy but felt a bit dated. All the staff seemed to smoke.

    One radiator did not work in our room. Some of the ceiling lights did not work. On Sunday when we arrived for breakfast none of the tables had been laid so we had to wait. We had to get more soap and toliet paper because the staff had not left enough. Breakfast on both days was a bit "hit and miss". There were cigarette butts everywhere even outside our room.

    The staff accepted my cancellation without fuss.

    The reason for the poor review is that the place was freezing and the room stank of grease from the kitchen below. The dining room was equally freezing the next morning.

    Hotel needs a lot of money spent on it to bring it up to standard.It should be an exelent hotel it has the position and should be able to attract overseas visitors, but not as it is at the moment

    The staff was really nice and tried their best to be serviceminded.

    It was terribly cold in the room. The heating in the bathroom didn't work at all. A few of the power outlets didn't work. There were electrical cords from the towel heater hanging loose -and the towel heater didn't work. It was dirty in the room and in the bathroom.

    This was a traditional and quirky inn - so much better than the more sterile modern hotels

    The staff were polite but I had to ask a lot of basic questions such as how to get back into the hotel once the bar was shutand where breakfast was served.

    Staff were friendly and pub had good feel to it

    Cramped room, nowhere to put anything in bathroom.Breakfast let the whole place down, not cooked well, should have a menu, not presented well. Worse still -staff late for breakfast on first morning and guests waiting 20mins at least. Breakfast dining room could be cleaner (cig ends and leaves blown in at door from night before drinkers for example).

    "This could be an hotel full of character but it is so neglected and badly in need of repair and a really good clean, it seems to be a health hazard waiting to happen. The staff were very helpful as we left something in the room and they posted it back immediately. Feel sure they would like it cleaner but perhaps there are not enough of them to do it. £60 was too much." (97964330)

    Situation of the hotel. Staff very helpful.

    Needs a big clean up and stair carpet frayed and dangerous and only access to rooms. Food exposed in the kitchen-meat uncovered for a long time, visible because the door was open to the alleyway. TV hardly visible picture. Lights not working, very noisy.

    "The bar was said to be 'lively' and it certainly was, however it was probably more suited to the younger age group. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We changed our room twice and could have done so again if we wanted to. The place had lots of olde worlde charm but we thought it had 'seen better days' - rather like ourselves! We noticed that it was the only pub in town with any life - so it would be good for youngsters and would recommend it for the younger traveller, but perhaps not for the mature age group. However it did not stop us enjoying our stay, mainly due to the very nice staff." (97700281)

    Easy Access, adequate parking spaces, good bathroom facilities and plenty of coffee, tea,hot chocolate and biscuits. Staff were very helpful and cooked breakfasts were really good.

    Mainly the noise coming from the front bar on the first night and the disco beneath us on the 2nd night.Also the smoking area was beneath our room. The noise usually stopped around midnight.

    "We had a warm welcome. We enjoyed an evening meal in the bar served with generous helpings and a big smile from the staff. There was a huge log fire which added to our comfort. The hotel has a very olde worldy feel about it, as you would expect from a pub of this age. We enjoyed a good English breakfast. Plenty of choice and good coffee. All in all a happy stay."     A clean comfortable bed. Plenty of towels, shampoo etc. A good supply of tea, coffee & and biscuits. Good lights to read by.

    The central heating was swithed off, and although there was a small oil filled radiator the room was very cold. We had to buy a hot water bottle from the local chemist.

    Convenient location not far from Cheltenham on night before Cheltenham Gold Cup fixture. Also, less expensive than hotels in Cheltenham area.

    Accommodation was fairly basic. It was adequate for 1 night stay.

    "Nice place to stay. The breakfast was excellent (Full English with all the trimmings). Bar has a nice atmosphere and the food (bar) was tasty, substantial and good value. Appart from lacking the obvious shower gel / soap and spare toilet rolls I would have rated the stay as Good / Excellent however as it stands it was Adequate." (97168663)

    Friendly and comfortable

    One toilet roll that was nearly finished (Not spares), no soap or shower gels. If we had known about this we would have brough our own!

    "Easy to park nearby. Cosy room. We had a very enjoyable stay, the pub is excellent and in the morning our host was fantastic. She sorted us out with breakfast before the baptism despite the fact that we were running late. Excellent! Thanks very much!" (97330208)

    Perfect location in the centre of Faringdon.

    Would be noisy if I was wanting an early night but was fine for us.

    "Room was very basic with old, tatty furniture although the bathroom was clean. Decor needed updating and freshening up. Outside couryard which the rooms overlooked was dirty and very noisy at night. As far as we could see there was only 1 person trying to do everything but he was very efficient and helpful."
