    "Very positive - we would happily stay here again and recommend it to others. Just a small suggestion - a coffee table would be good in the sitting room, I was worried I might spill my coffee on the (new) carpet. " (108204551)

    Easily accessible location with ample parking. The rooms were warm, very clean and newly decorated. Excellent meal in the evening & for breakfast. Staff helpful & friendly. Really very good value for money. Maybe because of the season.

    Water in shower not quite hot enough, bathroom a bit chilly. But it was an extremely cold spell in December.

    This hotel is undergoing some refurbishment and our room was all very new.Very comfortable beds. Central position in Moffat but very quiet.Excellent value for money.

    "We found the hotel ideal for our purpose whichwas to break the journey from the South to a funeral in Callendar." (108102287)

    Extremely pleasant , friendly and efficient staff. Good food thougheverything had potato with it, however as I don't eat potato I was given side salad instead.

    Bedroom and beds very comfortable. Plenty of hot water to shower.

    Staff not over friendly. We were told that we could have dinner at hotel but not informed we would have an hours wait. Resturant very popular and very busy. Found somewhere else to eat.

    "Had a great time. The town itself is a lovely place. The room was comfortable and clean, and had plenty tea and coffee supplies and here were also plenty supplies in the bathroom." (107300516)

    The food was excellent. It is obviously a popular place to go to as the evening was very busy.

    We had the room that was above the fish and chip shop, and an adjoining door there thended to bvang quite regularly. Glad they closed at 10pm.

    We initially booked a double room but were upgraded to the cottage accomodation, at no added cost, as this was not booked out that evening.This consisted of 2 bedrooms and a living area downstairs so we were very pleased. The staff were very friendly and the food served in the bar was lovely.The overall accomodation was clean, cosy and good value for money.

    The kitchen area in the accomodation could do with a general touch up eg cupboard doors re-hung etc. and the carpet on the stairway within the cottage was quite slippy with the stairs being quite steep, so this accomodation may not suit everyone. Also there was no blind on the bathroom window in the roof, which is overlooked by other windows...which I didn't realise straight away!!!!

    We were made to feel very welcome by the friendly staff. Nothing seemed too much trouble. The food was very good and "homely". Our room was clean and adequate with nice comfy beds and generous with toiletries and towels.

    Obviously an old coaching inn, a little bit 'tired', but we think this added to the character and charm. Not a bad point really.

    when we arrived there was a problem with the room due to the heavy rain. but we were promptly moved and upgraded to a two bedroom cottage to the rear of the hotel, for the same cost of the room.

    Quality of linen and cleanliness was excellent

    Not elderly/disabled friendly especially the stairs up to the bedrooms [at the bend a hand rail would have been very useful] in the cottage, we noticed particulaly the landing area at night when visiting the bathroom was hazardous due to the proximity of the stairs [a gate may alleviate this problem]

    Hotel was nice, quaint and rooms were cosy. Breakfast was excellent and very filling. Would definately come back.

    There were no bad points but I did see the waitress in the morning at breakfast filling up the orange juice jug with small bottles of orange from the bar, the type you would get as a mixer for your drink, we thought this would work out expensive for the hotel rather than use cartons bought at cash and carry so would save the hotel some money. Otherwise no bad points at all.

    Far to many beds in our room with not much room to move around room was nice and clean although the staircase was in need of some paint and also very cold as the front door is left open all the time to let people into the bar

    Good location, quiet, but only a mile from the M6. Very good value for money. Reception open until 11pm, so it was useful for a stopover on the way south after spending an evening in Glasgow.

    Staff & meals where very good

    The only bad point was the bedroom door couldn't be opened from inside room without difficulty. Which could have been a fire risk. But as it had been redecorated and new fixtures staff said they would sort it out. So I assume they did so.

    Good position in town , clean and tidy. Very good breakfast.

    Teenagers outside in Square until 2 a.m! Not troublesome or rowdy just chatting but as the room was at the front of the hotel you could not help hearing them.

    Excellent Food - we had an evening meal in the bar and breakfast and we enjoyed all the meals. The staff were very helpful and quick and found us a table very quicky. This is the second year we have used this hotel, and will definitely use it again next year

    Good comfortable room with pub food - all that was required for an over night stay

    Being on the road - noisey in the evening with young people and traffic - no double glazing
