    it was a beutiful hotel but the staff let themselves down by being hard to find!

    The breakfast set up was left untidy for a while and when we went to leave there was no one there to say bye or that we were going. Plates were not cleared away and then you sat there trying to have a nice cup of tea and you were surrounded by cold food. Vegetarian breaksfast could do with some sort of sausages as well.

    Staff very accomodating to our needs as we were attending a cycling event locally. We needed to store our bikes and also to leave early on the Sunday. The bikes were stored adequately and the owner came in at 7 (an hour early)to provide a full breakfast before our departure. The bistro restaurant has a very good menu and provided attentive service.

    Nothing relating to facilities or running of the guest house. It is located at the centre of the town at the junction of the A470 and the A44 so there is some external noise from traffic and passers by but this does not persist too late.

    The room was clean

    It was like walking into a building site. The hall & stairs was filthy and no one was on reception to greet people. There were work tools all over the floor. Breakfast is served next door at the bistro owned by the hotel. This was not made clear at the time of booking.

    "We really loved the place despite all the bad points. The hotel was in a lovely part of Rhayader, the "Welcome Book" had lots of information for tourists, which was very helpful. It's a pity the refurbishment was going on at that time, otherwise the stay would have been close to perfect. We'd definitely come back again - if only for the homemade cakes!!!" (107657449)

    Homemade cakes with teasmaid was a lovely touch. Room was beautiful, very comfy. Breakfasts were delicious with a lot to choose from, offers on local restaurants when your room key was shown. "Welcome Book" had lots of information

    On check-in, staff didn't know we had booked a room, couldn't find the book, then took us to the wrong room. Refurbishment was going on in the building but we weren't warned about this, so there was dust everywhere which upset my asthma a bit. No hot water on first day. No bath mat or toilet mat on first day. Owner seemed a bit arrogant, not as friendly as the website made out. "Customer Parking" turned out to be a little gravel patch in a very difficult-to-get-to location around the side of the building, with an industrial bin stuck in the middle of it. The car park didn't have any signposts to say this was indeed the car parking for the hotel, so when we tried to come back out, we had scratched our car on the industrial bin and had to park further up the road.

    Friendly service. Central location for restaurants and shops.

    Lack of parking on site (This may be resolved when the building work to the adjoining property is finished). Nowhere to hang wet bathroom towels (Easily resolved by putting a free standing towel rail in the room). Noise from traffic as the room overlooked a busy road.

    Excellent accomodation - until the power went whilst I was in the shower (all electric).

    Lost power in the morning (whilst I was in the shower) therefore lots of soap and no breakfast. If the electricity is on (I assume it normally is) it's a very good place to stay.

    Lovely Decor in the room, very clean and a nice tough with the home made cakes left in the room for us. Excellent breakfast and the meal with 10% discount next door was great too

    The central heating wasn't on when we first entered the room and given that it was about -1 outside the room was very cold

    WHOLE PROCESS OF BOOKING, CHECKING IN AND STAYING AT THE HOTEL WAS EASY AND VERY EFFICIENT. HOTEL STYLISH AND VERY PRACTICAL. WOULD DEFINATELY RECCOMMEND TO FRIENDS & FAMILY.

    This was an excellent bed and breakfast. The room was very spacious, although low ceiling in places, and beautifully decorated. I stayed on a very cold night and the room was as warm as toast. It was excellent value for money.

    The entrance to the rear parking was narrow.

    Overall everything met or exceeded my expectations.

    Parking is not available on the premises. Public parking is available but some distance away and in this day and age cannot be guaranteed as secure.

    Staff were very obliging and friendly and delivered a first class service. Location of hotel good, bistro evening meal and breakfast excellent. Room nicely furnished and laid out,good bathroom/shower.

    Awkward to park although did manage to have a parking spot in hotel grounds(rather tight).Room looked a bit tired and needed a decoration freshen up carpets in hallway and stairs and landing area desperately needed cleaning. taps in bathroom loose needed tightening to basin

    Nice, large room with modern decor and big leather sofa to sit in to watch television.

    No parking immediately adjacent, but there was parking on a nearby side road. Also I couldn't get my wifi lap top to connect via the modem to the internet but I am uncertain whether the fault is with my technology or that of the guest house.

    It was very clean,the staff were friendly,The food in the Bistro was also very good and reasonably priced.

    The person who had the room above snored all night. ( not the hotels fault)

    A very modern room which was so unexpected. Absolutely superb accomadation. Attached Bistro was first class. Staff very helpful. Delicious breakfast. everything of a high standard. Thank you.

    "This was a really nice b&b. The room was very comfortable and nicely decorated and furnished. The en suite was especially nice, although we had a little trouble with the hot water - sometimes scalding hot, sometimes almost cold. Breakfast was quite nice, although a bit more choice would be nice eg yoghurts (on menu but not available), muesli,bagels/muffins etc for those of us who have difficulty eating a cooked breakfast first thing!     Excellent supply of tea and coffee. Much better than Premier Travel Inns

    The low attic beams/ceilings. My partner is blind and we feel they could have been highlighted with a bright coloured tape or suchlike.

    "I liked Rhayader and the surrounding area is truly beautiful. The staff offered good advice on places to visit and were full of knowledge when we returned and chatted about what we had seen. Breakfast is included and there is a good range to suit everyone. I really liked the accomodation, my only issue was to do with noise from the public house across the street - this is something I am not used to and I did find it disturbed my sleep." (97362822)

    The Elan Suite was very nicely decorated with abundant original features. It has a small kitchen area for tea/coffee with a fridge. It has Sky TV and a DVD player. The Bistro and Sandwich Shop prove very good value. The fresh cakes left in the room each day are also lovely!

    Rhayader is a nice market town however it can become rather noisy on a Friday and Saturday night.

    "On arrival we were warmly welcomed and given an instant room upgrade. The room was newly decorated and in addition to a kingsize bed there was a comfortable leather sofa and new TV/DVD. The shower room was clean and bright and the electic shower worked with ease - no fiddling around to get a good shower. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful and the Bistro new door (also owned by the proprietor) served a varied menu throughout the day. We ate in the Bistro on both evenings of our stay and the food was again delicious and very good value for money. We will certainly stay here again if in the area." (99375075)
