    Stairways smelt somewhat 'old'. Hotel is in need of a spruce up.

    "Very pleasant. We were attending a local festival so left the hotel immediately after breakfast and didn't get back till late at night. Thanks are due to the manager who had to get out of bed to let us in (and did so without any complaint) after I failed to realise our key fitted the front door lock (my fault not his!)." (108183886)

    Very good breakfast (apart from the coffee, which was a bit weak). Plenty of choice and wel1 presented. Served very quickly. Pleasant staff. It was a nice surprise to have clean towels each day. Overall experience was not quite 'excellent' but better than 'good'!

    No mirror in bathroom (we didn't mention it as it wasn't a major point and it was Bank Holiday weekend so not much could have been done while we were there)

    booking was easy, quick, checkin quick, hotel close to station, TV was good too.

    no double glazed windows, and being in a busy area, you hear a lot of noise. Bed not confartable, toilet seat was broken, and water taps of sink made no sense, because the cold and hot taps were seperate taps, and you cant mix water flowing out like you do with a normal mixer. I was in room 25 if i remember well.

    Staff pleasant enough, but that's about as far as it goes. Won't be using this hotel again.

    No deduicated reception - had to use bar of pub. No-one on reception at departure. No receipt given until I returned later to ask for one. No bath, although room description said there was one. No working space.

    When we arrived the hotel had no record of our booking and insisted we pay again. They delayed us by 1 hour when we were checking out trying to get a confirmation from yourselves printed. It was not a pleasant experience. I hope they sort this problem with yourselves. Feedback would be good.

    Helpful & pleasant staff. Breakfast Excelent.

    Shower extension left on - I got soaked with cold water. It really woke me up. Curtain in the bathroom fell down, I think that these were all down to me for not checking.

    "Could be a good hotel; facilities were generally fine. Clearly no staff training on creating a welcoming atmosphere. Not the dearest rates by any means but that doesn't excuse a lack of interest, eye contact or general effort. Only a genuine apology and offer of compensation would get me to go again or recommend to anyone else.     hotel is nicely presented and the decor is inviting bathroom was clean and the large walk in shower was a plus. Bed & TV in room good. Close to town centre.

    Some crockery was dirty. Poor service. We weren't asked if we needed help with luggage, just told the room was on the next floow, perhaps the second room along (it wasn't). Receptionist said (Sunday) breakfast was 7.30 to 9.30. We were told in the morning it was 7-9 and it was clearly too much trouble for breakfast to be (partly) provided. Chambermaid then told us to hurry up as checkout was in 5 minutes. No rapport attempted by staff. On check out, no conversation from staff, no questions about how things were.

    My room and its overall facilities were very good. The lady in charge of the breakfast service was very friendly and efficient. Hotel in convenient location.

    There wasn't enough hot water for the shower and the sink unit was too close to the toilet. Hotel reception arrangements could be improved, with more separation from the bar area.

    very easy to find

    No parking - web site very misleading The room was far to hot - the water pipes run around the room at floor level and the main windows did not open due to the fire exit on the other side of the window.

    Noise from a disco that went on until 5am in the morning, Parking is a problem depending on what day you stay on can cost you around ten pound a day extra.

    "The location is excellent, and reasonably comfortable for an overnight stay. But they really need to pay attention to the issues I raise above. Staff attitude was very variable. The chap in the bar who checked me in was friendly enough. However with the exception of the woman who gave me breakfast the other staff were not particularly friendly. " (97388982)

    Comfortable but small room

    The waste bin had not been emptied and there was a dirty cup and saucer in the room. The shower was very dangerous - I stepped out onto a wet floor slipped up, ripped my hand open, bruised my thigh. I was not told if or when breakfast was served, and there was no notice in the room consequently I went down to breakfast at 9 a.m. to find it all being cleared away. However the person serving was kind enough to give me breakfast anyway.

    stayed in room 22, it was only partially decorated, single glazed windows therefore traffic noise horrendous, staff were unaware that the NCP car park close by only charged £6 for 24 hours parking until I told them, obscure beers on sale and food only OK.

    The staff were friendly and the food was basic but very satisfying. The bar / resteraunt area looked like it had recently been refurbished and was nice.

    The blind in the bathroom was beyond a joke - hence lower scores for cleanliness - mouldy and revolting. Generally all else ok if a bit tired looking. Hate not being able to have free reange eggs or brown toast for breakfast and real coffee would be good.

    The bar area was very nice, they had an unsual round pool table and a nice flat screen TV in the room. Breakfast was very good.

    You will need to park at the local NCP car park across the road, an extra £6. The room was grubby. The hotel is on a main road so not very quiet.
