  "I went for two nights, the directions on the web need to be refined and the warning as stated above regarding driving conditions etc. The room was clean, tidy and pleasant, the hotel itself is very welcoming and friendly. I thought it was a little overpriced and if they wish to fill it more then they need to look at their pricing. Also no work carried during what should have been a peaceful breakfast. " (107662365)

  Very welcoming the owner was very hospitable and the staff kind friendly - the room was quiet and overlooked th gardens it was very peaceful

  Building work going on have the dining room and made for a noisy breakfast, it would have been good they they start hammering after 10am when breakfast was over. I felt there should have been tea and coffee making facilities in the room, i was constantly thirsty. Also it would be an idea that if people are driving at night to be made very aware that they are driving over the brecons.....with no white lines, fences or lights. This was very difficult even for an experienced driver like myself. At one point I was the only one in the hotel, my suggestion would be to lower the costs of midweek stay and do an all inclusive. I was a little disappointed with the spa, they could not do my nails when I required and as I was the only one there felt a bit put out, but again staff very friendly and accomodating.

  Beautiful suroundings, brand new poop and spa complex, very friendly staff, lots of clean towels and a spacious room

  Not child friendly at all. Booked the hotel for the pool and found out on the first day that children are only allowed in for one hour a day between 4 and 5 pm! No suitable food for children, catering solely for the adult guests. Reception area looked rather tied with thread bare carpets. Two dogs sitting on pouch mat which left a rather 'doggy smell' in the air which can put people off.

  "Superb location and leisure facilities. Very friendly and attentive staff. Although booked a suite it was quite small and bathroom poor - carpet on floor and totally inadequate shower above the bath. It was in the eaves of the roof and the shower curtain gave no room to shower without getting caught up in it. It needs a glass panel on the bath. Food was good, although I thought very expensive. All in all a great hotel although for special occassions only." (97085981)

  Quiet and excellent facilities. Wonderful staff

  Carpets in bathroom, shower above bath was crowded and impossible to shower properly without getting stuck to the curtain.

  "The suite was large and well equipped. We were able to go on long walks along the river and woods. The swimming pool and spa were also excellent. There was plenty of facilities to use if the wheather was warmer e.g. tennis court, golf.The evening meal gave us plenty of choice and was well presented, as was breakfast the next day. Staff were pleasant and polite, they even cleaned the ice off customers windscreens after a frosty night! Perhaps some people would think the evening meal and wine expensive." (97980651)

  The hotel was in beautiful grounds with fantastic views from our bedroom windows.

  "This was more country house than a hotel. the swimming pool etc was brilliant.The sauna was ok but they should have been more coals over the elements and a wooden spoon not metal to put on water. Expect to pay London prices for the food and dont expect large portions BUT the flavour and presentation was second to none. It did seem that some people had room service with a slightly lighter alternative. So do ask about facilities and where dining room etc is as there are no labels on doors etc to give the idea of a country house. We would highly recomend this hotel.They do serve a tea for children but I wouldn't think children under 12 to 14 would enjoy the atmosphere but they would love the grounds and tennis court etc." (97742575)

  We had an upgrade to a suite which was superb. the thickest towels we have had in a hotel for a long while
