    Easy access from motorway Comfortable well furnished rooms Coffee / tea and biscuits / chocolates

    Limited chairs to sit if staying in room for period of time Poor choice of TV channels - i.e. no freeview

    Friendly, efficient and helpful management and staff. Attention to detail in design of hotel interior. Excellent food both at breakfast and in restaurant for dinner

    Cigarette smoke from adjacent bedroom drifted through. Customer obviously shouldn't have been smoking, but obviously not something the management could account for in the middle of the night.

    hotel was great and lived up to expectations. Also very close to the venue we were visting. Breakfast was vv good and our evening measl was delicious however , and this is not a negative comment , the portions are quite substantial so if your not a great trencherman beware.

    The hotel itself looked excellent. We had lunch which was also fine. The staff were extremely helpful.

    Active Hotels is the bad point!! No booking had ever been received by the hotel despite being book 1 full year in advance and reconfirmed 3 weeks earlier!! Upon phoning Avtive hotels from the hotel we were told we would get a call right back. 5 days later we STILL haven't had a response!!

    A beautifully converted and decorated Inn, with not a chintz curtain or frilly valace in sight! Room was very comfortable, with a huge bed and homely touches making it especially welcoming. Food was lovely, and staff were genuinely friendly, my stay was a delight!

    Unfortunately poor sound-proofing, take your ear plugs!!

    "We like this type of hotel - rooms individually furnished to a very high standard, and service that could not be faulted. They even found us a table for dinner at short notice on a busy pre-Christmas evening when they were already fully booked. The Orleton would be worth visiting for the food alone, the choice was excellent, the quality first class, and the price exceptionally reasonable. Strongly recommend the smoked halibut starter."     Outstanding service throughout our stay. Hotel furnished and decorated impeccably. Food first class and very good value.

    A good reading light in the room would have been appreciated. also, a teapot, do not like using teabags in cups

    It was very clean and new. Plus ultra modern. All the facilities you could ask for. The chocolate in the room was a nice touch. Cable TV also good.

    "We arrived at the hotel at around 5:30 p.m. the hotel was locked with an instruction to ring the out of hours number. The owner was on site within 2 mins so not a major problem. The reception consists of a little alcove which was a little worrying to start with, we usually stay at hotels with big receptions and staffed at all times. The whole hotel is beautifully decorated and very clean. When we entered our room we were very pleasantly surprised to find a fourposter bed. We had dinner in the Brasserie and the food and service was excellent at very reasonable prices. Breakfast was included in the price and was varied and plentiful. Top marks for actually having camomile on the selection of teas! A really lovely little hotel with charming friendly staff." (99036728)

    The room was beautifully appointed. Contemporary style. Four poster bed which was unexpected. Lovely view from the room. complimentary fruit and chocolate an added pleasure. The bed was extremely comfortable. Bathroom was equally well appointed and clean.

    "The particular room we were allocated suffered from a lot of traffic noise, especially at night. More hooks and shelving in the bathroom would have been useful." (99662701)

    "Very nice atmosphere - cosy but also lively with diners in the evening. Good food in restaurant (and for breakfast !). Nicely presented rooms, although we couldn't make our own tea/coffee, this was made up for a bit with the nice chocolate and biscuits ! Car parking can be tight in the evening when the restaurant is busy, so check in early if poss. Hosts are very accommodating and friendly. Hotel is right next to a fairly busy road, but at night you don't notice it too much." (99430327)
