    heating didn't work. food was poor. music playing at 5.30am outside of my room. taxi booked by hotel overcharged me by £10

    From the minute we walked into the hotel, to the moment we booked out, we had not one complaint to make - the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was spotless and equipped with everything we needed, the bar staff efficient, the breakfast a wonderful experience - a first class hotel!

    Decor, cleanliness, and atmosphere was great.

    The bed was too firm (hard). Restaurant needed more lighting at breakfast before the sun came up.

    lovrly decor, lovely room, great food, absolutely loved the shower, delicious continental breakfast in bed

    the restaurant was a bit dark people were asking to be moved under the few lights there were

    "Will be a good location when redevelopment work is done - looks and feels like a hotel in a building site at the moment. Our room looked towards Liver Building though which was a treat. There would be nothing to redeem the view at the back of the hotel though. Rooms are lovely - whole experience let down by poorly trained, poorly managed staff though." (108059724)

    Stylish room, well furnished with great bathroom - lovely big bath and walk in shower.

    Luxurious hotel with very romantic atmosphere. Check in quick and easy. Staff friendly. Loctaion central.

    One member of restaurant staff very distracted when taking orders and left us waiting half an hour for dessert menus. However rest of staff very good. Some of the hotel decor had not been mainitained very well, e.g. chipped/marked paintwork and stain on sofa in bar which did not expect from a newish four star hotel. Also, the food in the restaurant, some was very good but some was not quite up to the mark.

    Very friendly, chatty staff. Modern, trendy room without over-doing it.

    no room service before 11am on Sunday morning, i.e. we could not order a sandwhich at 10am.

    "Quite simply excellent. The Hotel is stylish and contemporary, in a great area and is just a little out of the ordinary. The decor is divine, the room was spacious and the little things, such as the shower gel and moisturiser etc was lovely. The bathroom / wet room was really well designed too. The room service was great (burgers are immense!) I would definitely recommend this hotel. I cant wait to stay there again. " (107418149)

    The Malmaison Hotel was excellent and shall make a point of staying at any of the hotels in the chain if they are in the city I am going to.

    The staff were friendly and certainly helpful. The room we stayed in were cosy and equipped with the basic necessities and essentials. All in all, it was worth the trip.

    "ONly problem was locating the hotel from the tom tom, the post code doesn't recognise the location. It hasn't been registered yet as its a new development. Town centre is a few minutes walk, and parking is available in the building opposite." (97289811)

    Great location and comfortable rooms. Recent development and they have maintained the quality.

    This hotel is stylish and defo has the wow factor luxury at its best, we stayed for new years eve and on new years day we booked to stay in the one in manchester, the smellies are gorgeous and they tell you to take them home with you. the staff are really friendly the nicest hotel staff i have ever encountered, although we did wait a while to be served in the bar.

    There was nothing we disliked about this hotel. apart from i want to live there.

    Ultra modern, chic and refreshingly different from the hotel'norm'. The complimentary shampoo, conditioner and mosturiser were fare better than anything I've been given at other hotels. Egyptian cotton sheets, lots of pillows and really thick towels. I didn't really want to leave the room

    The lights in the bedroom, bar and restaurant were too low for reading

    "Malmaison is always very stylish, making every visit special. We tried the restaurant for the first time and found this to be excellent and fairly priced too. The only negative is that our room - 209 - was smaller and more cramped than others we have staid in at the same hotel." (97152178)

    "We were both very pleased with the quality of the decor and fittings in the room. The room was of a reasonable size. The bathroom was very good with an excellent standard of fittings. The hotel is well situated in terms of the view etc. As the dockside development matures the hotel will feel more central." (99879981)

    "A truly new & very indulgent experience. A sense of being wrapped up inside a bar of Cadburys dairy milk! Makes Crowne Plaza seem like travel inn! I quite like my deco and arty fartsy stuff so this place has inspired me to do my bedroom at home like a malmaison, so may be a 'mal - boudoir'! If you want to take a partner away and make them feel special, take them to a Malmaison. Oh and check out the hand dryers " (99772678)

    Really different, relaxing, novel approach with sense of humour, great rooms, very luxuriuos and superb hand dryers!!!!!!!
