    Clean, friendly

    showers abit weak and scaled, bar service slow as shared with reception.

    "We had a wonderful stay, it was lovely break and we would visit again and recommend the hotel to people we know. It's not perfect, but I'd rather stay here than a beige room in a Travelbox type hotel" (108703224)

    The location of the hotel and view from the room (room 201). The staff who were all polite and courteous, nothing was too much trouble for them. The "character" of the hotel. The cooked breakfast, which is massive!

    The bed was very higgledy piggledy and the mattress is in desperate need of replacement; if you have a bad back (like me) you'll wake up in pain - if you get to sleep in the first place. Not enough parking. Stair carpet was threadbare and smelt of old cigarette smoke. There is no lift.

    The hotel is in an ideal location - I strongly advise requesting a room overlooking the river as the rooms are basic and the view is what makes it! The breakfast and service was excellent, clean and well looked after hotel. Lovely weekend overall.

    Lack of staff and could have been a little more welcoming.

    lovely suite with view over river

    bed a bit soft, pathetic shower, witnessed member of cleaning staff tipping ash tray from terrace into the river while having breakfast, no one on reception to mention this to or check us out

    You have a great hotel with a lovely view. The bar staff were very helpful too!

    i think the corridor needs a bit of freshening up - it smells a bit stale.

    Good position in the centre of town. Good bar and terraced area by river. The character of an old coaching Inn. Friendly staff.

    No chef on the night, Monday,that I stayed.

    Room was ok, could do with up dating.More toiletries and towels. Breakfast was lovely.

    Breakfast could be earlier and later. Nobody on the desk on Sunday at 7-30am.

    Town centre location with good parking provision. Excellent value for money - facilities as good (if not better) than can be found in much more expensive establishments. Beautiful view out over the river. Good breakfast with plenty of choice.

    "I thoroughly enjoyed my brief stay, I just wish I had realised how good it was and made arrangements to stay longer. " (107655942)

    The staff are incredibly good; nothing was too much trouble. The setting and views are superb, even on a wet October evening! Food is an interesting mix of English and Mediterranean - something for everyone - very well cooked and presented.

    Not really a bad point but guests must bear in mind that this is an old (18th century?) property tastefully kept up to date but is far from the 'plastic palace' that so many people expect nowadays. I liked it very much but some may not.

    First rate position in the town, super breakfast with helpful friendly staff. Very clean.

    Freezing cold room - heating didn't come on till 5 o'clock but it was a winter break and radiator inadequate for size of the room.

    The food was very good, the room was very comfortable with plenty of space. The staff were excellent.

    TV didn't work very well, cold water system was noisy.

    "We had a great time, enjoyed speaking with the staff and the owner and made good use of the bar. Generally a very 'chilled out' place, no fuss, no bother just great service. We didn't get a chance to try the restaurant but we'll probably give it a try next time we're passing through. Breakfast was good and plentiful with a healthy selection of fresh fruits and cereals to balance the very full English breakfast. None of the flavourless catering sauages here!" (108022852)

    Good hot water supply for such a large hotel. Excellent views from rooms and the outside decking areas

    Refurbishment has taken place recently but some of the seating is ready for replacement or re-covering.

    Good location

    Website said there was parking but only eight spaces and these were all taken therefore I had to park on road side and move my car by 9am the next morning - very poor considering the size of hotel.

    it was ideal location for imunities

    the doors were not very secure and we wernt given keys had there been a burglar in the same hotel it would have been happy days for him...

    It was a good clean Hotel. Breakfast was included and it was waiter service and not buffet style which was excellent.

    Our room was very cold on our arrival although we were given two fan heaters to heat the room.

    "We would like to have known that the car parking was limited, because it was disappointing to have to park the car on the street and then move it in the morning to avoid parking fines, particularly as we'd rung up beforehand to check about the parking. Also access was difficult during the day because there was a street market outside the hotel and the road was closed off. The hotel could have let us know this is advance. But overall, we really liked the hotel and would go back. The girl on reception was really pleasant and efficient." (97287182)

    Great location. Friendly atmosphere, comfortable lounge. The rooms that have been refurbished are lovely.

    One of our rooms, 206, was gloomy: it was cold and the TV didn't work properly. Service was a bit slow sometimes, in the bar and restaurant.

    Ideal location,pleasant staff,lovely spacious room overlooking the river.Breakfast good standard

    The car park was across the road and not easy to access as permanently locked - having to keep going for the key and returning it was a bit of a pain especially in the pouring rain!

    "This is an excellent Hotel in a prime site in a great town handy for all sights and right on the River Dee." (99027991)

    The Hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff were very attentive and efficient

    The Hotel did not have an outside smoking area attached to the Bar (although they look as if they are making plans to build one) and the having you use a key to open the car park across and up the street was a bit of a pain (? combination lock so we do not have to return key to reception)

    Very clean and well presented - a very pleasant experience opening the door and seeing a lovely big room with good facilities.

    Quite close to a busy road, a few noisy revellers early Sunday morning woke us up.

    Very nice room. Just excellent... Hotel in general was very nice, with a really nice lounge/bar with a good view over the river.

    The shower wasn't working fully. Had to struggle a bit with the switch to make the water come out the shower instead of in the bath tub, and the hose was falling apart. Also I missed some power outlets by the office desk for laptops etc.
