    "A nice alternative stopover place when visiting the City as the Metro service gets you cheaply and quickly to where you need to get to in the area." (108628195)

    The bedroom and bathroom were in very good condition especially the bathroom facilities which were top notch. At £45 for the night including a very good / varied breakfast menu, it was excellent value.

    The check in staff were surly and unco-operative. A smile doesn't cost anything

    "On the whole I would recommend this hotel as it was very friendly and the staff were more than helpful. Good location and Whitley Bay was a treat as a first time visitor. Must say that although it did not bother me and my wife, anyone looking for a quiet weekend break should look elsewhere as the partying outside went on almost all night. Which is fine if you are drinkers yourselves but I wouldn't have taken my mum and dad (or kids) for example. But then if you do your research into the area you would know that!" (108272135)

    The hotel had a very friendly atmosphere and the staff had great customer service skills. Spacious and clean rooms.

    The lift was jerky and noisy, looked in need of updating. Rooms were hot (although staff kindly provided a fan on request perhaps they should be placed in all rooms in the summer). Breakfast could have been bigger!

    The service was excellent and the breakfast was very well cooked and presented. Staff were pleasant and very accomodating. The room and bathroom were spotless.

    The only bad point was that the lift was out of order for two days which I struggled with because of poor mobility.

    Accomodation, service and food were good

    Roudy rugby team all night allowed to stay against hotel policy. I have not received a response to my letter of complaint written over 2 weeks ago.

    "In a town of some very third rate establishments, this hotel was nice; very comfortable, staff friendly, clean & excellent value for money. SO glad we didn't book anywhere else, really suitable for families, established couples etc. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend." (107580272)

    Comfortable, if smallish room. Very, very clean with excellent facilities. Really good breakfast included. Bit surprised we had to pay up front but that's not the end of the world - all chains expect it these days.

    Walls seemed a bit thin & other guests walking past woke me up.

    Hotel had been modernised recently, good standard of decor, staff helpful and very pleasant. We ate breakfast and one evening meeal in the hotel - all good. Secure carpark.

    Had we known this was capital for stag/hen parties we would not have come, especially as Windsor Hotel is in the main street area. Loud music until late in the evening, road blocked off so had to drive round back to get into carpark.

    "Used to stay at this hotel quite a lot until I retired 4 years ago, last visit was three years ago, decent value for money, but don't think we'll stay again. People have to smoke at front door, OK but nowhere to put cigarette butts, and not swepped up on sat or sunday, a plastic fork outside front entrance for two days. " (107671285)

    Still a decent hotel in a great location, decent room rates.

    The Bazil Brasserie has gone down the pan, big time. This restaurant used to have a fabulous menu (3 years ago since last visit)now no better than average. The staff at breakfast time didn't have a clue, on the sunday morning knowone took our breakfast order for ten minutes, then three different staff came to the table in about two minutes, the breakfast was cold.

    Good position, very clean room, comfortable bed had a very good nights sleep. The breakfast was nicely cooked and presented, the staff were friendly and helpful.

    All good, no complaints. Lovely bathroom, great breakfast, good atmosphere in bar. Really enjoyed our stay.

    Had to wait too long to get served in bar (but it was busy so not really complaining!)

    Despite arriving by car I was not offered the use of the hotel carpark. Despite pointing it out there was no remote control for the television.

    Good sized room, whcih was clen & confortable. The bathroom had a shower & bath - with requisite loo & sink. Towels were changed on regular basis & bathroom was very clear, as was the spacious room.

    Mouldy toast at breakfast topped the welcome by reception, who told us our reservaion has been cancelled. Not that either of the young ladies involved seemed that concerned. The resturnt staff seemed more concerned to get the inconvient customers out of the way. Food was OK, but more adequate that good.

    We enjoyed the hotel and facilities it was very central and not at all noisy, although it was a very quiet weekend. The barman was very friendly and also the reception staff were polite.

    On Sunday morning we arrived for breakfast at exactly 9.45am and were told very brusquely that no more breakfast was being served. We looked out our watch and pointed out that it was 9.45p.m the waitress said that by their clock it was one minute after. My partner was very upset and refused to eat anything. I then requested tea and toast and some time later I was brought a pot of coffee there was no butter. The waitress ignored us I retrieved some butter myself. Two tables were served their full english breakfasts. I couldn't be bothered to upset myself and ask the waitress for tea instead of coffee and just left the restaurant. I thought the waitress was very rude and it left us feeling resentful and unhappy. I realise there is a cut off point for breakfast however, I would have thought that 9.45am would allow for 15mins for late comers.

    Everything went like clockwork from booking on the internet to actually checking in. Staff very polite, rooms clean and tidy, beds comfortable.

    Shower not very warm.

    "This is a very nice hotel but customer care is not always evident. If booking it's important to be aware of the following: 1. We were given a smoking room, yet had not been asked whether we smoked - we don't. I didn't even realise it was legal to have smoking rooms. The room therefore had a very unpleasant smoky smell. 2. The website indicates that large single sex groups are not booked in - this was the main reason why we chose this hotel. A large group of young males kept us awake for most of Saturday night. When we mentioned this we were told it's diffcult to prevent groups of this kind booking rooms! 3. We reported all this as we left and the receptionist gave as her excuse that she'd not been there all weekend.....!!" (97668413)

    Lovely room overlooking the sea & St Mary's lighthouse. Very helpful and friendly staff.

    Noise from drinkers in clubs over the road. Were disturbed by two people having an argument in the corridor outside our room at 4 am, and a separate incident when teo people were talking and smoking in the corridor.

    overall i found the staff very good,polite and helpfull the hotel was good clean and comfortable good safe parking the food was of a very good standard i would book again tomorow if needed

    i think some rooms could benifit from some soundproofing from the bar accross the road

    Clean and comfortable bed .Staff very friendly.

    When booking on line you think you have paid upfront . There should be notification this is a holding booking not payment. Not enough secure parking and because that area is very busy and noisy especially on a Sat night we were concerned as to the saftey of the car.

    Our room was large and clean with a good sized bathroom. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice also the bar meals which we sampled were excellent. Fairly secure parking at rear of hotel away from main street.

    Main street was very lively in the evenings so would not like to be in a room at front of hotel also some guests were a bit noisy when coming in late at night, although not bad enough to complain to the management about.

    Although there were hundreds of party goers outside on the streets the hotel was quiet and free from revellers. We were very impressed. Also very happy with the car park being at the back of the hotel and secure.

    A charming old fashioned hotel with class, which i was looking for. The restaraunt and food was excellent and we both found it very romantic. All the staff at the hotel was excellent and look forward to staying here again.

    To be honest i could not find any bad points as we had an up-grade to the junior suit and it was a beautiful elegant room. Still trying to think of some bad points, sorry can not think of any.

    Liked the convenient location and excellant car park. Phil the barman was excellant company very pleasant and chatty.

    Did not enjoy being informed at 9.45 that I could not have breakfast as the chef was just about to leave on the sunday and there were lots of complaints from otherresidents, just had toast, not very good.

    "We liked the size of the room, but the outside area of the hotel was dirty with dog 'poo' on the pavements, broken glass and generally not very nice. The standard of the breakfast was poor and the waiter wasn't attentive. Overall it could have been better." (97561577)

    The room was large and clean.

    The breakfast (full english) was poor. Everything was 'flash fried' and there wasn't enough of it. The 2nd morning we tried omelettes and they were served half burnt and half raw. Very disappointing.
