    "A good location to York centre/tucked away from main road so quiete. Nothing was too much trouble for the lady who waited on us at breakfast. She always smiled and asked about our day ahead. Very nice room/clean and enough storage space. Definately go to York it's beautiful" (108488851)

    Room could have been a little warmer. We were in Rm 8 located downstairs at the front, the front hotel signage light shone into room/being light sleeper meant I needed to by an eye mask

    Natalie and co were very welcoming, friendly and most helpful. Even though the B and B was going through some renovation work they were limited and were very easily sidestepped.

    Friendly, helpful and well-organised host, quiet and comfortable room, good breakfast.

    None, although anyone who has difficulty with stairs might want to ask about a room at ground-floor level.

    The hosts were excellent and breakfasts were fantastic.

    Water pressure in the shower was the only quibble.

    A good welcome, clean, fresh accomdation. Within walking reach of the city centre.

    Room was cramped - an obstacle course to manouver around!! A bit of a quart fitted into a pint pot! Steep staircase. No help offered with suitcases.

    Pleasant friendly people and clean facilities - good location for city centre. Excellent breakfast.

    Room far too small and cramped for a double bed - and mattress/pillows of poor quality.

    "I thought it was a great location and a nice place to stay while you are seeing the sites in York." (107268526)

    Very cute guest house with all the modern ammenities. It is a short walk from all the attractions in York, but is far enough off the main road that you don't hear the street noise. Breakfast was excellent and we found the room very comfortable: flat screen tv, brand new bathroom fixtures, nice linens.

    Honestly I wouldn't bother booking a room here through this website. I discovered that if you book directly with the guest house, the rates are much cheaper. So just call them directly. That was the most frustrating part of our stay. Also one morning was garbage day which started very early and was quite loud. The next morning we slept in without disturbance.

    "we were celebrating our Golden Wedding and we enjoyed the break enormously. We looked around the beautiful Minster and attended a prayer service there.We also visited Goatland "Heartbeat Country"had a meal in the "Aidensfield Arms" " (97383689)

    quiet road comfy bed Excellent and substantial breakfast Very friendly and helpful staff who told us the quickest ways to go, short cuts etc

    It seemed a long walk to Railway Station and Cathedral we were told of a quicker way but found the flood barriers were up because the river was very high because of the very heavy and prolonged rain.

    A wonderful establishment. Clean, friendly, very good food. Quite possibly the best guest house that I've stayed in while in York, and I come to York frequently!

    I cannot fault this establishment at all! Objectively speaking, some guests might find the walk into the city centre a little too long, but personally, I think this hotel is beautifully situated and the walk an enjoyable one.

    The guest house was centrally located and clean.

    The room was very small and the fact that the shower was not in a separate room should have been mentioned at the time of booking.

    "The accomodation was very clean. This included the cleanliness of the rooms and bathrooms and restaurant. The staff were very friendly and were available for advice. The rooms had everything i needed for my short stay and the accomodation was only a short stroll away from the city centre.     "Booked the room over the internet for a susprrise Valentines Night away in York. I could not of found a better hotel, the facilities, room, staff and food were all fantastic. I will definetly be using the hotel again in future and would recommend it t any one. Situated just outside the city walls means its in a quiet area with only a short walk into the city itself. I recommend this hotel to anyone!!!" (97687483)

    The warmest welcome possible, the staff couldn't do more and were full of local knowledge. The rooms were beautifully decorated with a personal touch.

    "The accommodation is relatively close to all places of interest and the owners helpful in local knowledge. Although this hotel is classed as 4 star, I would term it just a very pleasing, warm bed and breakfast run by two rather lovely people." (97322105)

    Beautifully clean, towels changed and beds made every day. Breakfast cheerful and friendful service each morning.

    Rooms wre really nice, beds were comfortable, breakfast was tasty, staff/owners were extremely helpful and pleasant. Overall, an extremely enjoyable stay

    Walls were slightly thin and first room was quite small but oweners were happy to move us to a larger room when requested

    "The hotel was over priced for what it was. It capitalised on the fact that it was quite reasonably positioned for access to the town centre. What was on offer at breakfast was of poor quality and limited in choice. The full English breakfast was swimming in fat and the toast was so thin it was like a cream cracker. The breakfast cereal I ate one morning was stale. The muesli was of poor quality, cheap. The coffee was filter coffee apparently poured into a pot and consequently was not hot. No proper VAT receipts available." (97613647)

    Reasonable distance away from the centre of town. We liked the ladies who ran the place.

    Although the room was clean and fresh, it was too small and cramped. It made the tea making facilities dangerous so we didn't use them.The rooms were on top of each other and this meant that privacy was reduced. The guests next door walking on the creaking floorboards in their room woke us up. The shower door leaked quite badly and we were worried the water would cause damage below so we only used it once. We didn't like the amount of clutter on the walls and everywhere else, it made the place seem even smaller than it actually was.
