    "Overall my stay there made me never want to come back again." (108396719)

    Helpful, friendly staff.

    Allocated room was not fit to sleep in, full of building materials and no lock on door. 2nd room given had no heating, no hot water and had not been cleaned prior to my moving into it.

    no do not disturb signs, door snib wouldnt work ,lot of noise from outside especially at night,water trook to long to heat up, thought as guests you should get some sort of discount when dining in hotel

    Hotel centrally located.

    No lift or hand rail on stairs. On arrival reported light in bathroom ceiling not working this was still not sorted on our departure.

    "I suspect this will become a very good hotel when all the refurbishments are complete. However, during my stay there was constant building work being carried out on the stairways and every trip up or down stairs meant negotiating ones way around builders and building materials. Neverthless I enjoyed my stay. The hotel is conveniently situated just opposite the train and bus stations and a few minutes walk from the city centre. The room was comfortable and well decorated, if little noisy being at the front of the hotel overlooking the street. The breakfast was good and the staff were very helpful. The price was reasonable, by Aberdonian standards at least. But beware the small print in the booking conditions, in particular the draconian cancellation policy. Bookings of 3 nights or more must be cancelled at least 7 days in advance or the complete cost will be charged. This was not a problem for me but I imagine it could catch some people out."     Comfortable bed, well decorated and refurbished room, close to city centre and train station.

    Major refurbishment of stairways in progress causing difficulties in negotiating stairs. Early morning street noise.

    Good breakfast, comfortable beds, spacious & clean room.

    Had to buy earplugs on the second day, as the outside noise was too loud to sleep without them. Couldn't shut the window since the room was too warm and could not turn the radiator off.

    Very central to Aberdeen City centre. Friedly and helpful Reception staff. Very nice room with nice decor. Good service in breakfast room.

    High standard decor in rooms, bathrooms refurbished to high standard and very clean, reasonable price, staff were accommodating when I needed to check in early.

    There were no Do Not Disturb signs for the rooms. Public area was being refloored - but this wasn't a big problem. Restaurant wasn't available until 12noon on a Saturday but nowhere very nearby to find breakfast.

    This historic hotel and restaurant were gems. Not only were the prices for food and wine very reasonable, the quality was excellent and there was live entertainment besides. Kyle was a fantastic receptionist and helped us so much. He was a very nice young man and went out of his way to make us comfortable. When traveling out of one's native country it is always nice to receive such friendly service. Kyle is a valuable ambassador for this hotel in the heart of Aberdeen.

    "My daughter and I stayed overnight whilst attending a wedding in Aberdeen. The initial entrance into the hotel didn't bode well as it was very dated, however our room was excellent having been recently renovated and the Receptionist explained that the entrance and corridors are next on the list for being refurbished. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic and the bistro/wine bar attached to the hotel was very good. The staff were very friendly. We will definitely use this hotel again when in Aberdeen."     The receptionist was friendly and helpful

    The hotel was so bad that we decided to check out, not stay the night and booked another hotel. The room had no wardrobe and a condom in the bedside drawer. My colleague's duvet cover had a stain on it. I had to ask for a hairdryer and coathangers. For £95 a night this is appalling. We then reserved rooms at Malmaison for the same price and the difference was amazing. My taxi driver from the airport warned me and said he would not wish his wife to stay there. It was also in a bad part of town, near the docks. The hotel was undergoing refurbishment and the walls were unpapered with patches of plaster all over them. They should have closed it completely for refurbishment.

    No heating in the room, To turn the light of you have to get out of bed, The HD televison did not work. Building work in the hotel, was like a building site. Told work would finish at 5 i asked for it to be stopped at 9.45 pm

    The desk attendant was very helpful. He personally arrived early to make sure there were continental breakfast items available to us before we had to leave to catch our flight. The rooms were nice, modern, and clean.

    Full breakfast started at 7, which was not early enough to eat before catching our flight. Our room had no alarm clock or telephone so we had to go ask the desk clerk for a wake-up "knock". The room was hot, regardless of leaving the window open. No parking available at the hotel.

    Lovely accomodation, very nice staff.

    The bath took over a hour to drain away, also there was no ice available on Sunday and no drinks as the bar was closed.

    very pleasant staff, lovely clean room, nice breakfast. Staff also allowed us to leave our bags with them all day as our train home was not until the evening - very handy!

    no shower in bathroom only a bath - just a minor point but an overbath shower would have made it easier for me to wash my hair!

    The room was lovely decorated

    Shower cubicle a bit small, i am heavily pregnant and found it a struggle getting in and out of the shower. The room had unfinished decorating in it.

    The rooms were large, modern and very clean. The location was good as it was a minute off union street. Breakfast was good with a choice of hot foods, fruit, yoghurt and cereal.

    There was building work going on over the road which started at 9am on a Sunday morning. Also breakfast is only served until 9.30am and as it was a Sunday I thought it could have been a little later.

    Staff were very friendly and pleasant, the hotel was just a five minute walk from the train station, There was a lot of entertainment near the hotel, the room was clean but it did have an unplesant smell, the bed was comfortable

    the room was far too hot even with the window open from when we arrived till we left, it was a smoking room and it had an unplesant smell i think one of those plug in air fresheners and a fresh layer of paint more often. BEWARE - Hidden signs speak of 100 pound charge for bringing in Take Away food!!!

    Hotel was nice, in a good location, overall satisfaction was good

    Even though the rooms were clean and nice, the hallways were full of laundry sacks etc all the time. In check-in the person did not ask how many rooms we had booked and so when we had made the reservation via web all together and gave just one name when we came in, we only got one room first. When we asked did we not have another room, we had to make another check in for the other room. Due to this our credit card was charged twice and we had to pay the service charge to the credit company twice. Very confusing.. The person over the counter could have checked that there were 4 people checking in and the room she first gave was only a twin room, this should've raised some bells and made her ask if we had reserved another room aswell...

    Exactly as described on website. Very local to both bus and train stations which was not made clear enough in the advert and should be a selling point. also within easy walking distance of shopping centre

    Could do with a 'digibox' in room. Would imagine parking would be difficult especially with work going on in area

    Young man in charge of checking us in (and most other things too) was excellent - friendly, helpful and efficient. the Bar/Restaurant staff were also excellent. Decor in Sopranos restaurant was funky and chic - very modern ? and food was very good. Room decor was decent too. Great breakfast.

    Not a great area, carpet in hallways and stairs very worn but apparently there are a lot of renovations going on. Should be really lovely when finished.

    As I was travelling by public transport, excellent to have no distance to go to hotel. Young gent on reception was a credit to the hotel and exceedingly helpful and polite. Very good breakfast and overall service. Room warm and comfy.

    None of any consequence. My room was on top floor but still within easy access.

    Central location, nice hotel, rooms lovely, breakfast very nice, staff very helpful.

    Rooms suffer from lots of outside noise, cars lorries etc and also very near to pubs so lots of noise from people too. Not enough staff on at breakfast, the poor person was run ragged! Also massive developmant right across road - more noise! Hotel also undergoing development but didn't hear anything.

    Very nice hotel and staff. Perfeck locatet for shopping. Clean and nice room for an ok price.

    "The hotel is undergoing renovation and promises to be quite nice when finished. Until then, guests should expect an unfinished appearance to parts of the hotel and understand that this is why rates are much lower than at other Aberdeen hotels. Similarly, the area in which it is located--by the docks and train station--is undergoing gentrification and may become the place to be in the future, but currently it is a tad shoddy and some of its denizens are sketchy. However, we did not feel unsafe. Union Street and downtown Aberdeen are only a block away." (97977381)

    Location close to the train station.

    Location close to the harbour. Shower would not drain - staff gave us another room quickly.

    Close to town.

    When we first arrived the door did not close very well in our room. We had to ask for extra towels (only 1 set available for 2 of us). Breakfast -scrambled eggs not cooked very well. Having to always drop your key off every time you went out. Window would not open very well; we had to prop it open.

    The staff was extremely helpful and accomodating. Our room was small, but quaint. As the hotel continues to undergo its renovation, I can only hope it keeps its unique feel. Also, the location is excellent. It's right off the main shopping district, close to museums and restaurants, and adjacent to the bus and train stations. We also enjoyed overlooking the harbor while having breakfast.

    The renovations were only a very minor inconvenience.
