    "Food excellent, only had breakfast but was well looked after by all the staff the whole presentation in the dinning room was excellent. The room was very clean and tidy also the size of the room allowed you to move about, I have been in some hotels where you could not swing a cat. My wife and I will book this hotel again when in the area." (97013563)

    "The Russell reception was closed when I arrived and a sign directed me to check-in with the hotel next door. The reception staff were very helpful and the process was quick and easy. When I told the staff I would be catching the ferry in the morning, they knew what time it was leaving (impressive!) and informed me I could get a (continental) breakfast at 5:30am courtesy of the night porter. When I got to the room, the radiator was full on and the room was extremely hot. I struggled to open the old sash window, but once opened the room cooled to an acceptable temperature. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. The shower caused me a few problems in the morning, but was really a minor irritation. To sum up, room was fair, staff were very good." (97632582)

    Friendly & Helpful Staff.

    Shower seemed somewhat lacking in pressure. Was a little like trying to wash under a leak. Window in room difficult to open and room far too hot on arrival.

    staff courteous, good breakfast

    cleanliness of hotel very poor, corridors quite grubby, not been 'bottomed' for a long time. Very disturbed sleep because of quite noisy bathroom extractor fans in other rooms.

    having a dish on display for gratuities in the recption and dinning room.Also giving money for a sponsered walk,I came for a holiday not to give money to charity.I give money to a charity at home.Lift breaking down.

    Food good and serving staff excellent

    Very poor parking facilities. The lift was very slow and did not inspire confidence in it's working capabilities.

    very small room had to carry cases up two flights of small stairs told we came second to week paying guest cold meals no entertainment room smellt of urine view from 4th floor window was brick wall facing beach

    "on the whole, things were very good, a lot of problems with parking although its advertised as having on site parking. when the room was cleaned, the staff left our room unlocked all day, until we returned to it, with all our posessions in it.we ended up with a room for disabled, the sink in the bathroom was so small, you hit your head on the tap every time you tried to clean your teeth, and there was no where to put your toiletries etc." (99998488)

    The hotel was ok for the few days i stayed for all the facilities worked and staff friendly.

    The only bad point was the room i stayed in was a small room when i went to the toilet or had a shower i constantly had to bend down, this room was ok for somebody of below 6ft but iam 6ft 4 inches and at times this become awkward.

    We were made very welcome from the moment we entered the building by your lovely staff,our room was ready on arrivial,the cleanliness of the room and bathroom was very good,The food was exellent,superb choice on the menu,staff were very freindly and accomadating.The evening entertainment also very good.

    Clean and comfortable

    Noisy shower-was catching an early ferry and was worried about disturbing the other guests. Also exractor fan in bathroom not working

    "This is a hotel for retired people. The entertainment and heating of the building reflected this and they are not set up for people arriving late on business." (99873840)

    The bathroom was generous, we had a sea view and breakfast was delivered to the table at a record time.

    It was boiling hot. Reception was closed and so we had to book in at the neighbouring hotel. Our bedroom was impossible to find and we had to trail back with our cases to ask for help. The lift was incredibly slow and when we went to check out a disembodied voice just kept repeating put the keys in the box which I thought rude.
