    Food excellent staff friendly

    No remote control for tv and no bottle opener for mini bar

    "Enjoyed the stay - worries beforehand that it might be noisy (as it is situated outside the railway station) proved groundless" (108033519)

    Hotel was very clean, staff were very helpful and friendly; food was well presentd and cooked with good choice on the menu

    "Overall, the hotel was lovely and I thoroughly enjoyed the stay. it was a real pity about the room though as it was meant to be a special occasion." (99048580)

    Facilities in terms of bar/restaurant etc were excellent. Staff very friendly. Great breakfast. very reasonable bar prices

    Booked 2 executive rooms which should have been either king size or four poster. Specificied that one of the rooms was to be for a Birthday treat and if poss could we have a 4 poster. Other couple were allocated a king size room but ours was just a very basic double. No 4 poster and no king size. I didn't complain at the time as I didn't want to spoil the weekend but I was disappointed at the standard of the room. It bore no resemblance to the advertised photos or decriptions.

    Cleanliness and brightness of the room and friendliness of the staff.

    The partioning wall between the two bedrooms was not sufficent to keep out all the noise from the adjoining bedroom

    clean and fresh, good breakfast setup, catered for children, made to feel welcome by staff, ideal parking.

    we could not find any faults at all.

    "That the hotel was so near the station was an important factor in booking The Station Hotel, Dumfries. It was also easy to walk to town which was very helpful as we were visiting the birthplace of our relations." (97574404)

    Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the hotel was very clean, including the public areas.

    Hotel in Splendid position. Beautiful building. excellent service, good size clean and comfortable room. I would recommend this room to any traveller and will personally go back again for a further visit

    Breakfast was a poor as they had continually run out of food and juice at the self service i believe due to staff shortage
