    "I liked the hotel, it is a bit run down but has a bit of charm, parking was easy and its a short walk to broad street and the city centre." (108263157)

    Staff are friendly, room is decent size and warm, bathroom was very nice. Had a great nights sleep.

    None really, the room was quite dark even with the lights on and the rooms are quite a walk from reception.

    "We arrived at about 16.00 hrs, and just needed to have a hot drink and a shower! We had problems trying to get the kettle to work and could only get cold water from the shower." (108731636)

    Staff were friendly. Room was spacious. Beds were comfortable. Beautiful building and grounds. Very convenient for the Oratory just across the road.

    Kettle caused a loss of electricity several times until it was discovered that there was a faulty powerpoint in the wall. We used the powerpoint which was located near the trouser press. There was no hot water to have a shower around 6.00pm. Room No 6 was on Ground Level but could only be reached by climbing stairs to the first floor and then walking along corridors, going through several doors before one could descend to ground level a considerable distance from reception. Not suitable for people who have problems climbing stairs or walking. The breakfast seemed to have been prepared long before we ordered it.

    Long trek from reception to rooms. Corridor decor tired. Hair drier in room 104 needs sonme attention.

    very good price. staff at reception very helpful and smiley late on a hot day which always makes you feel welcome. room was lovely temparature and well maintained. loved sitting in the bath after a long day,

    2 people in the room but only 2 tea bags and 4 milk. not enough to keep us going. kettle equipment no where near a plug. which made it difficult. all good tho

    BATHROOM WAS IN POOR STATE WITH NO HOT WATER IN SHOWER. THE FLOORS AND WALLS ARE WAFER THIN YOU CAN HEAR ALL THAT IS HAPPENING ON OTHER FLOORS PARTICULARY OF A MORNING WHEN THE MAID IS HOOVERING IN THE ROOM ABOVE YOUR BED!

    Convenient location for the Chamber of Commerce. Good parking faciities. Very polite and lovely bar staff.

    The hotel had a good atmosphere, but is in need of some updating. Especially the new wing! I was also rather surprised that I was given a single room, as I had booked a double room. I always have done, and always will do, even when travelling alone. My surprise was even greater when I was subsequently told that I had to pay the same!! Not good practice, I my opinion.

    size of the room and table to work at

    the bathroom stank of cigarette smoke, which I identified to be the towels. It was quite overwhelming and I did not want to use them when washing but had no alternatives. As a non-smoker it was unpleasant but also considering the smoking ban it was incredulous that this occurred. Other than that - very pleasant.

    1. Television very old, poor picture, no digital, malfunctioning control.]2. Woken by fire alarm at 11pm, got dressed, opened door to leave and alarm ceased. No apologiy or explanation next day.

    Location

    Whilst room was adequate, the double glazed windows had internal condensation. Expect long walk to bedrooms after circumnavigating some six narrow fire doors and poor directions. If one has heavy luggage this can prove extremely awkward. Cooked breakfast had appearance and taste of having been sitting on hot plate for too long - Blackpudding was dry and overcooked

    "Although it was a nice room it could have been cleaner. The mattress cover had tea stains on and their were peanuts and crisps under the beds which obviously are not cleaned after every visit. Also the remote control for the tv was missing, the pelmet light did not work and the cover was missing leaving bare wires.The pat testing for the electrical items was 5 months out of date, which i would class as a safety issue. The bathroom was kept clean. This could be a nice place to stay with better maintenance and and if cleaned properly." (97046965)

    The hotel was in a good location for local bars and restaurants with ample parking.
