    "I had a nice welcome from the owner and it was a very relaxed atmosphere. The breakfast was very good and there was no problem with having a vegetarian option. Very clean all round. Very close to train station and local shops/canalside." (108604909)

    Friendly welcome. Nice room with good facilities, tv, tea/coffee/kettle. Very clean. Also good shower facilities. Very good breakfast

    Manager/owner very accommodating and friendly. Very comfortable bed!! Reasonably quiet. Excellent breakfast.

    I must say the only bad point was someone slamming door on floor below which woke me with a jolt!

    Friendly Welcome.

    Parking availability could be clearer. Spent money on local rip-off carpark, when I could have parked for free in the street after 6:30 pm

    "Place is okay, staff friendly. From website I thought I'd booked a pretty good double room but on arrival found it was actually a fair but well priced family room, so we had 2 extra beds we didn't need!" (108038253)

    Room clean, comfortable, food reasonable.

    TV pretty useless, appalling reception; not a problem for us but could be for others. Mirror in bathroom set too low for most men to use for shaving despite socket above it. Sink & shelf above sink both angled slightly downwards so toiletries were always falling into the sink!

    Quick, easy, no fuss and Martin? was very friendly.

    The hotel was unheated and it was a chilly night and morning. The "full" English breakfast was one fried egg and two small rashers of bacon. I was disgusted that the small individual pots of jam and marmalade had been used and it was not just my table. Either use small clean dishes with a portion of marmalade and a portion of jam, or provide new pots each and every time. Yuk!

    Abbey Hotel very nice people

    Advertised free parking opposite the hotel, there was none. Apparently you have to park on the left hand side of the road, but when I arrived after 7 hours of travelling there were no parking spaces!! I went for a drive and then came back to find a parking space there was one parking space so I parked the car and put the parking slip which was given to me by Abbey Hotel. Next day had a parking fine slapped on my car of 25 pounds! Parked in zone B instead of zone A, but this was the only parking space available. Abbey Hotel charged me for one nights stay instead of two, but it's a major downer on the Hotel, with no parking and the fiasco I had to endure after 7 hours driving, you just want to park up and relax. I have had to pay the fine, but at least the Hotel saw my point, with no fuss. Otherwise a nice stay, with a great breakfast!!

    "The hotel is very close to the station ,and has parking very nearby.I stayed as an overnight stop.I found the staff to be very considerate and polite.I was allowed to check in late with no problems.I booked a single room for the night.It was compact,yet very adequate,and amazingly clean.Room had tv and coffee making facilities.The cooked breakfast in the morning was very good and they mad a great pot of tea.The whole hotel was very comfotable and nice and warm.Would not hesitate to reccomend to anyone who is looking for accomodation on a budget.£29 for a single room bed and breakfast."     This is a good all round budget hotel.Pleasant staff willing to help.Compact single room,very clean and comfortable with tea and coffe facilities.A nice cooked breakfast and a lovely pot of tea.One to reccomend !!!!

    "I arrived after dark, having never visited Norwich before and the Abbey was exactly as advertised. It provided me with everything I required (except a hairdryer). The following morning, it was a short walk to Norwich City FC where I was spending the day. It was also very convenient for the railway station." (99226080)

    The room was a good size (I had only booked a single but this was a double). It was warm with fresh clean bed linen and towels.

    Breakfast is available from 07.30, which gave a good early start to the day. The hotel is just 5 mins from the railway station going along the roads and even less if you use the shortcut going down the side of the station.

    Extremely clean!

    Would have been nice if they could have turned the heating on a little earlier in the evening...it was a cold day outside...although the people were so friendly that i'm sure they would have had i bothered to ask!
