Absolutely excellent! I would recommend Shave Farm to anyone. The rooms were clean, comfortable and furnished to a very high standard. Owner was warm and welcoming. The cooked breakfast was obsolutely delicious. We will definately be returning.

Welcome realy good, tea offered and rooms pointed out. breakfast well cooked, food of a high standard. Room very comfortable - best nights sleep for weeks. Homely, clean and comfortable, what you would expect on a working farm, but rarely get.Much better than some of the highly starred hotels we have recently stayed in. Good luck to the Ladds, I feel it will only get better.

"We had an excellent experience at Shave Farm - from easy booking, good directions, a warm welcome (including a much needed cup of tea!) and excellent facilities i.e. the shower. "Was made tea on arrival after long journey and made to feel "at home".Wonderful opportunity to see cows being milked. Will definitely return when next in the area. One night not long enough to enjoy hospiality and comfort of this B & B. Don't bother with 5* hotels, Shave Farm beats them in all areas." (97351178)

"The Farm was lovely plenty of animals to see. The bedroom was absolutely outstanding, a gorgeous kingsize bed. Spotelss bed linen and towels a wonderful comforatble bed, and lovely really big lovely soft towels to dry yourselves after a beautiful power shower. The outlook from our bedroom overlooked the farm and it was lovely to watch the cows going into be milked and see the sheep running round the other fields. The breakfast was gorgeous well cooked and presented, there were several choices to start your breakfast and as much tea coffee and juice. We will definitely go to Shave Farm again and the next time it will be for a longer time, this time it was just an overnight stay. Many thanks for such a wonderful friendly stay in your beautiful home, nothing was too much trouble." (97933265)

I booked Shave Farm as a surprise for the friends traveling with my husband and I. The farm is just as the brochure states but in no way gives any clue to the warm welcome of our hosts, this couple were delightful nothing was to much trouble. I hope they have guests from abroad some time so they can see what real British hospitality is all about.
It was all first class

"Kate and James are an extremely likeable couple, who happily answered all the many questions we had, about life on a dairy farm. I was fortunate to be able to bottle feed a calf and milk two cows, what an experience. I only wished I had taken more than one pair of jeans with me, as I didnt expect the hands-on experience. which was brilliant. fresh eggs for breakfast from their free range chickens. I can go on a on about the pleasures of staying at this farm.thank you Kate and James." (97073114)
we were welcomed by Kate, who immediately asked if we would like a warm drink. we sat in the guest lounge and Kate brought the refreshments to us, together with biscuits. the room was extremely clean and welcoming with the extra comfort of an armchair.
not really a dislike but the room temperature was inconsistent. on the day of our arrival, the room was very warm but in the morning was cold and it did not seem to warm up for the rest of the day. having said that, there was an electric heater to be used.

"The accommodation is on a working farm and the last 50 yards approaching the farm is a muddy track - anyone with a sensitivity to their car (my brother-in-law springs to mind) would be aghast at the prospect of getting a muddy wing or two. The rooms are basic, but perfectly adequate for sleeping purposes. There was no desk in our room and that may be a slight problem for some guests. The huge guest lounge is fantastic and, given there are only two or three rooms, there is little chance of being disturbed should you wish to relax there. I'm trying to think of another reason to visit the area just to stay at Shave Farm again. Next time, we'll take the children as they would love it there." (97769158)
Fantastic genuine farm house (with real cows to boot); superb guest lounge with open wood fire; kingsize bed (always a bonus); well decorated room; extremely friendly and helpful owners; excellent breakfast; could have spentr all day in the shower.
WC was a dodgy colour.

Generally excellent - minor comment about the breakfast belwo.
Breakfast was very good but could have been more healthy with fruit and muesli rather than tarditional cereals and a fry up.

Lovely views out the window of the countryside and the farm animals; eggs straight from the hens; very nice to have a very big room with an equally large and comfortable bed, welcoming tea in the lounge. Easy to find as well. Large kettle easy to fill.
