food in dining room very poor and service poor. I did not eat my meal and the waiter did not ask me why until my husband had finshed eating.

Clean, technical equipment excellent, staff friendly and competent, restaurant excellent
One of the inner windows could not be locked, road in front of the hotel very busy (therefore, windows have to be shut during the night)

Double room that we had was very nice. The bedding very comfortable and all other requirements met.
The food in the restaurant and bar area was very disappointing considering the price of it! very poor quality and presentation! If staying again would consider eating somewhere else.

Beautiful place, friendly and efficient staff and an EXCELLENT Breakfast!!!!!
Rooms require modernisation however we were informed that this will be taking place soon

"Although on the main A4 the hotel was not subject to any noise. Room was spacious with good facilities. Water in the bathroom ran a little slow. Bar food was excellent as was the choice of beers on offer. All staff extremeley pleasant. Excellent cooked breakfast." (97700455)

The atmosphere and service in the bar/restaurant areas was excellent. The staff were very helpful and obliging.
The ensuite bathroom was a little 'tired'. Needed an overhaul, new grouting, etc. The taps in the bath ran quite slowly.

"A very pleasant and comfortable hotel with excellent food and very helpful and friendly staff. The bar menu and atmosphere was so good that I never felt the need to eat in the restaurant, and at least some items on the restaurant menu are also available in the bar anyway. The biggest bugbear was that it was not a bit nearer to Reading, so I had to rush breakfast (which is served from 7am) to get out in time to get to work by 7.30am. I didn't ask, so don't know if I could have had breakfast earlier, but I didn't really want to get up earlier anyway. The Wi-Fi from my room wasn't too great, either - but it was free." (97361876)
Comfortable bed; excellent food and ale; pleasant decor; friendly and helpful staff.
Shower a bit quirky, but OK once I got used to how it worked.

"This hotel has a good bar and restaurant, staff are friendly, breakfast was very good, only thing thats not 100% are the room's its a little like a motel, the rooms are clean and warm but slow hot water and in general need of a freshen up. I would and will be staying again." (97368094)

very friendly helpful staff readily available to help. room more than adequate with generous supply of tea/coffee/cookies [nice touch]
room had sky light, ie no window and the sky light was positioned over a roof where the kitchen fans were placed so it was a noisy room until the kitchen activities stopped. also room was directly above the bar/dining room so also noisy until closing time. room 7 brochure had suggested all room were centered around a courtyard!!!!
