    Very good location if looking for a base to go into the Lake District. Adequate, clean hotel with good basic food.

    Excellent Restaurant with a good choice and opportunity to sample local dishes everything tasted as it ought to not simply bland food spiced up with a sauce. The bar was homely and welcoming with a good choice of drinks.

    It was nice to stay in a hotel that offered the business person the amenities needed when working away from & the office. A wider wirless coverage would be usfull & a benifit.

    Excellent value for money. For management and staff nothing is too much trouble and always done with a smile. Food is superb. Ample parking. Highly recommended.

    "Excellent location for local flower show at Showground. As its just off M6 motorway, would consider as meal break or an overnight stopover to/from Scotland in future. Would highly recommend for base for visiting Lancashire or Cumbria short break." (108083878)

    Very welcoming hotel, cosy bar, friendly staff at all times. Very comfortable accommodation and plenty of breakfast choices and freshly cooked to order (not mass produced).

    Bathroom taps need attention - everything else in room in good order.

    Staff very friendly and efficient. Very accommodating. Excellent value for money on B & B basis.

    Not exactly a bad point, but the restaurant was a little expensive in comparison to hotel rates, having said that the food and menu was excellent.

    attitude of what appears to be a well trained staff was excellent as was food preparation and presentation.

    allocated room although very well presented did not have a hairdryer which can be important to lady guests. this would be the only real bad point. the installation of minibar may also be an asset

    "excellent hotel. we stayed three nights, we had a superior double room, it was clean and comfortble with every amenity needed, and at a reasonable price. restaurant was excellent, so much variety on the menu and the food was first class. staff were friendly and efficient. overall experience was excellent. would highly recommend, we will definately stay there again in future. only a short drive into the heart of the Lakes for walking the fells."     "We would have liked more details regarding the rooms - more photographs of the residential accommodation would be useful. Although the hotel is clean and comfortable it somehow lacks the wow factor that would bring us back. We ate in the restaurant and regrettably the food was suprisingly ordinary." (97004156)

    the room was clean and tidy, huge bed!

    It was very functional yet lacking in atmosphere. In fact the whole place felt like a conference centre.

    "It was nice to get a courtesy call prior to arrival asking if we wanted a table for dinner, unfortunately we expected to arrive late after the restaurant closed and were not offered even a light snack in our room after arriving. As we were visiting family we didn't get the chance to sample the restaurant during our stay, however the breakfast was excellent It is easy to find, close to the motorway, with adequate parking."     The room was clean and comfortable

    Our room was a little noisy as other guests were leaving/settling for the night. Some channels which should have been available on TV were not.

    "We were only booked in for 1 night to break our journey from Weymouth to Scotland. I was impressed when the hotel phoned a few days prior to our trip as we had mentioned we'd like an evening meal. They were getting busy in the restaurant that evening and wanted to make sure our request was met, so we were able to book a time. The food is fantastic both at dinner and breakfast and all the staff so friendly and helpful. The hotel is also very easy to find from the M6. We cannot recommend this hotel enough!!" (97147494)

    "This is one of the best hotels we have used. It was very easy to find in a pleasant area. On arriving we found it was over the road from the Lancaster Canal, a piece of information worth mentioning on the advert, as we enjoy canal walking and I'm sure many other people do as well. The hotel had plenty of comfortable areas apart from your room that you could sit and read or talk without being in a crowd. The staff were always helpful and available." (97313982)

    All food was cooked fresh on order. The menu had a huge range of meals to suit all types of diet and preferences.
