    Clean linen. Comfortable bed.

    Unable to lock room or bathroom doors from inside.Basin taps very hard to operate. Noise from pub below meant sleeping before 12am impossible.

    Value for mony and location was excellent

    Rock band played downstairs untill 1am, This was explained to us on arrival but after a long day it was also a late night. maybe this could be explained when booking

    the main point was the hotel was clean the staff was very nice

    no meals been catered for if not a cooked breakfast a continental breakfast would of been lovly even if you had to eat this in your room a good start to the day

    "Hotel not worth 50 pound per couple, would not go back at that price. Rooms however were modern and clean enough." (107352760)

    Nice fresh clean rooms. Good area, very close to shields town centre.

    Came to check in at 2pm owner with keys to room wasnt available after trying to reach him through calling his mobile phone and also text messageing him aswell. Also in the morning, The chef was also unreachable after even the cleaner tried to get hold of him, therefore we did not receive breakfast which was unsatisfactory and poor customer relations. Younger staff unfriendly towards guests!

    location

    This is not a hotel, requested an en-suite room, room only had a wash basin; no breakfast; facilities are in a poor state of repair, the communeral show offered was needing replacement.

    "At the time of our visit credit cards were not accepted but a bank is located directly opposite.The rooms are situated on the upper floors of a pub and it is obvious that a lot of money and effort has been expended into the refurbishment of the 200 year old building. There is still a lot of work to be done but the friendly, helpful manner of the owner and also the locals made this an interesting and relaxing stay. We would certainly return." (97863616)

    "In general I would not sta at the Douglas Vaults ever again . The rooms were too basic . The services specified were not given and the staff were no where to be found the next day !!" (97386286)

    The fact that breakfast was supposed to be served on the Sunday morning and wasn't and that all the guests were left unattended in a pub without a single member of staff . The guests were the only people present in the building !!!!
