    "Me and my boyfriend really enjoyed staying at The Imperial Hotel. We chose to stay at that particular hotel because we were going to concert at the Manchester Academy and we also wanted to spend a day in Manchester town center. We arrived by train and would be finding our way around by public transport for the rest of our stay, so we were happy to find that at the end of the road buses were constantly coming and going to Manchester town center (via Manchester Academy AND the train station). So we were very pleased with the location. We were also very pleased with the hotel in general. Deffinately good value for money." (108315558)

    Nice quiet hotel. Friendly staff - especially the woman who appeared to be the owner. Room was clean on arrival. Breakfast was really good and the service was fast even though the woman that I mentioned before seemed to be the only one cooking and waiting on. The hotel is also in a good location. Oh, and in our room the windows in the bedroom and bathroom opened all the way out.

    The only bad points I can really think of are the small TV that is barely watchable (which didn't actually bother us because we kind of expected it and bought a laptop and some dvd's with us), our room wasn't serviced even though we were there for two nights (which didn't bother us either, I just thought if anyone was reading this and actually looking for some useful information they might want to know that), and also the shower pressure was quite low. Which was kind of annoying. But fine really. Oh yeah, and the decor is quite bad, if that actually bothers anyone.

    breakfast:- no bacon on the menu. sausages were obviously very very very cheap. an option of tomato or beans. car park being allowed to be used by public was FULL of local contractors vans. shower did not work correctly, which was stated on a very old looking sign on the wall in the bathroom. TV was not tuned in (no remote control either. upgrade may be wise)

    Bed Bugs!!! This is not a hotel it is a doss house. Dirty room, no curtains, broken chest of drawers, fraying carpets. Old beds, old blankets, divans not covered. TV with only 3 channels working badly (despite the boast of 6 channels. 1 small towel between two people, side lights not working, hole in wall, electric wires uncovered in cupboard, no refund despite collecting video, photographic and physical evidence (30 bed bugs collected and drowned). No sleep due to BED BUGS. Fire doors propped open, didn't stay for breakfast as we didn't trust the sanitation of the property.

    "I am not pleased at the state of the room, and am writing a formal complaint to the hotel. My partner and I chose not to stay for the free breakfast - afraid of what condition the kitchen and food prep areas would be in if the guest bathrooms were considered acceptable in that state! I will not stay here again and would not recommend it." (107614503)

    There was stagnant water in the kettle, the bathroom had a mildewed shower curtain and mold on the ceiling as well as silverfish in the shower, and there was trash (bottle caps, old cigarette butts) and extensive dust under the beds. Very unclean.

    none an absolute filthy joke of a hotel no bar ,bed linen burnt tv out of arc and not working noisy tenants, old and delapidated bath room, bed side light exposed.absolutely filthy and disgusting grounds crap everywhere!

    poor quality breakfast,mould and paint peeling of dingy dinning room walls ,hotel should be shut down.

    Booking error or error in reading the paperwork by staff almost led to me having to miss out on a room,staff were shall we say less than ecstatic to see customers, no real attempt at a welcome,toilet seat was loose,shower flooring showing signs of wear & tear plus shower itself had problems and the room was cold because they had left the window open all day (its mid december not June)

    Staff are plesenat and cooked Breakfast was ver nice.

    En-suit in need of refurbishment and a lick of paint. Matresses very lumpy and not al all comfortable. £3 for parking over night which is not stated on Hotel information before you book. I feel this should be free for paying guests.

    The hotel was only five or six minutes walk from manchester academy, which was why I booked it.

    The hotel decor was a bit tired and shabby. Breakfast wasn`t all that warm.

    it was close to all ameneties

    the rooms were freezing,the heaters didnt work in the main room and there were not enough blankets for the bed.The shower space was dripping and had soaked the floor when we returned at night.

    Bed was clean, breakfast was good

    Had a bar but was not stocked and was closed, all electrical equipment in rooms faulty and in mt view dangerous, kettle not present had to ask for one. The base was not compatible with the kettle so could not use it.Stair carpets leading to dining room torn and dangerous on top step. Whole place needs re decorating, bathroom had mouldy grout and dirty shower curtain, unable to use. |God knows what the pipe from the toilet to the shower was for!!

    Cheap tariff compared to others in Manchester. Was able to regulate heating so was not cold.

    Staff were not particularly helpful, only conversation was on check in to pay and to hand over keys and state what time breadfast was. No-one asked if everything was ok and had we enjoyed our stay. Room did not look as though it had been decorated for about 30 years and was not particularly clean. With regard to the bed, I have never slept on such an uncomfortable mattress in my life. I was awake all night due to the huge springs protruding everywhere. Walls were very thin and toilets and water running could be heard throughout the night. Full english breakfast apart from the fried egg apppeared to have been re-heated as hash browns and fried bread were rock hard and saturated in fat.

    The hotel was generally dirty, unkempt and shabby. A combination of dirty shower facilities, a bathroom window which wouldn't close leaving the room cold, a heater filled with dust and releasing a burning smell, scorch marks on plug sockets, a lack of staff when checking out (a box for keys provided at front door - the reception area was locked)... the list goes on.

    location cooked breakfast good...when they get your order right.

    car park was disorganised, cramped and very muddy. room was extremely dusty and bathroom very mouldy...not good if you are an asthma sufferer. no remote control for tv. had to ask for small cartons of uht milk...sign in room says to ask at the bar...are guests not to be trusted with them in their room??!

    Staff at breakfast were welcoming and provided a prompt service.

    Old furniture,including the bed with springs coming through mattress and dirty headboard. Dull surroundings, ensuite had cracked tiles and no curtain on window. TV had no remote control and only had 3 available channels. Very limited choice on breakfast menu.

    "this is VERY budget accommodation I'm afraid. The double room was tiny, the bar wasn't manned or stocked. Good breakfast though. Beds were comfortable, but spoilt by the cheap, flat pillows. OK for 1 night 'on the town' (we were going to a gig at the apollo) if you can't find anything better, and parking is included, which it often isn't in city centre hotels.
