    "I would not stay in this hotel, unless really need to be visit client near next day. No 24-hours reception, so not sitable for late arrivals (latest 22.30), hot water in the bathroom leaking, and was not able to open cold water,so not possible to take shower. " (108337958)

    Clean, adequate value for money you pay, but this is the only good points.

    Very clean and working order facilities. Room with a view to the river was exellent. Totally value for money. Would definitly recomend to friends and family.

    The staff at the pub/restaurant very unfriendly.

    The staff were excellent, friendly and efficient. The evening food was very good, plentiful and extremely good value.

    The room was very 'tired' with one window catch missing and the safety lock on the door not working. There was no remote control for the TV and you had to ask at reception if you wanted a safety mat for the bath/shower which was difficult as there was no telephone. The whole annex desperately needs a revamp. The continental breakfast really wasn't worth the money.

    "The location was ideal for my purposes but I think I would pay a bit more next time for a newer hotel." (108587437)

    Staff were very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was good (continental) and the room was very big.

    The room has seen better days (it smelt damp and musty and the carpet was a bit sticky), although the bed was very clean. Unfortunately the shower didn't work.

    Quite room, delightful view, associated pub offereed good range of reasonable food. Cheaper than travellodge.

    Friendly staff

    Bathroom and sofa in room old and warn. Car parking.....no room for guests who arrive while bar and resturant is busy.

    "Since our stay last year (we've been using your hotel for years at least once a year back to the Travel Inn days)you have made some improvements (bed linen and menu for instance), but still your hotel is needing a good clean and facelift, and attention needs to placed on the failings detailed above."     The evening curry meal £9.99 sharer was good value and tasty. The restaurant staff were bright and cheerful.

    No plug in washhand basin (Room 1). The bath was overflowing through the overflow, but couldn't discover where the water was coming from. No chain on the bath plug so very difficult to unplug. The bath drained away very slowly. The handles on the top light of the window were broken and the double glazing had 'pinged'. The door to the closet looked as if someone had punched it and the paint was flaking off. The tables in the restaurant were sticky with old beer, I think.

    "This hotel appears to be an old Travelodge/Premium Inn and is in dire need of refurbishment along with the attached pub/restaraunt. Even at 44 pounds for the night, it really isn't worth it. " (107641807)

    Attached restaraunt has varied menu and staff are all pleasant/well mannered.

    Whole accommodation is in poor condition. Carpets worn out and dirty. Bathroom dirty, mouldy with shaving light not working. Shower plumbing leaked. Room door didn't close properly. Wall heater didn't work and on/off button smashed and electrically unsafe. Window glass in corredoor cracked and unsafe. Overall, a very tired hotel which appears to have had ittle investment in maintenance since acquisition.

    the bed was comfy and the room was clean. It was close to train station (with access to central london). The staff were friendly, and a great restaurant.

    "If I had not needed to be in that location I would have gone to the Thurrock hotel (about two miles away) which has proper hotel rooms and is no more expensive. I had been told that the Royal hotel had gone downhill so I knew before I went that it would not be pretty. I was not surprised." (107716497)

    Location, is close to station, and whithin walking distance of where I needed to be.

    Bathroom had mold, the shower did not work properly and so we were up to our knees in cold water while steaming hot water came out of the shower head. When we complained we were told that the Royal advertises bathrooms en suite, and that if we had gotten a working shower that would have been a bonus. I have never heard of such a thing. They did offer to change our room, but the shower in the other room was the same as the one in our room so we declined to move. Luckily, we managed to work out a way to make the shower work reasonably by the third day.

    "Nice place to stay for a short break. The all of the public areas need updating, and the carpet in the room is a little shabby. The view from the room was excellent over the river. Everything was very clean & the bed was comfortable. I would stay here again for a 1 or 2 night stay." (107471481)

    Staff were very helpful, we were locked out at 12.45am. The key for the front door was missing to our room. The night porter came downstairs within 5mins & let us in, he was very cheerful & helpful for that time of the morning.

    Room was freezing when we got there, and the window had been left open. Couldn't get the heater to work without assistance. However the room heated up really quickly. No blind at the bathroom window, although our room overlooked the river there was a footpath by the river.

    Basic room with good view of river (although this is industrial end of the river Thames and the Dartford crossing, so what are you expecting ?). Staff were friendly and courteous. Good location for Lakeside shopping complex. We went to Henrys bar and restaurant (about 10 minutes away) for evening as I was DJ'ing but food in hotel looked good

    Bit awkward to find, but maps were good. Window in room, although double-glazed, had condensation between pains and was smeared making it difficult to see through. Heater was too small for room for this time of year - would easily be got round if extra blanket had been provided in room - however we didn't need to ask for more

    Bath water was hot

    Unhygenic mattress on childs bed, stained carpet, rooms poorly maintained, electrics unreliable, hotel is in shabby condition, needs attention paid to it desperately.

    Being outside and walking over snow covered carpark in the rain. Several items on menu were not available.

    Staff excellent and helpful

    Hotel could do with a handyman to do repairs or it will quickly become very shabby. eg Heater now working - changed rooms to one with hole punched in wardrobe door and edge of entry door hanging off. Place seemd to be understaffed.

    The fire alarm was set off by a group of boys about 3 times and was left going off for atleast 20 minutes per time I had no sleep at all and had to drive the next morning!!

    "Not unpleasant - I've known this hotel/restaurant since I was a child as I used to live in the locality, so I'm aware of its limitations. However, it could be much improved and offer its guests a much better experience than it currently does - a wasted opportunity." (107528959)

    Friendly Manager. Timely and effective room servicing. Good selection of complimentary hot drinks and biscuits. I was given an electric halogen heater for my room when I informed them about my broken heating. Bed was comfortable and warm. Linen was spotlessly white & clean.

    Room was very cold as wall-mounted electric heater was broken. Management were unaware of this. Toliet tank was overflowing into the bath as the refill valve was warn out. This made a constant noise during the night. Rooms are all in need of refurbishment. This was admitted by the hotel staff.
