    "A good expereince" (108632948)

    Great location, clean rooms, welcoming and friendly staff, very good breakfast.

    A bit 'ricketty' in places and possibly a bit over-priced (we stayed in a Holiday Inn (with a pool) the following night for £30 pounds less?

    Clean, friendly and a great sea view. Breakfast was really nice but change the sausages!

    Parking on the seafront can be difficult, internal fire doors slammed shut loudly between floors and hence late guests would wake us

    Good location on sea front, clean, good breakfast,big room, bathroom.

    No evening meal available in the "Hotel". No shampoo or shower gel available even though dispensers were available but not filled. Long climb to top floor with luggage- lift small and not very reliable.

    "Generally good. In common with other similarly priced hotels and B&Bs in Aberystwyth, there is a general lack of attention to detail in some areas." (108932501)

    Hotel was comfortable and very clean. Breakfast very good (self service). Convenient location. Pleasant lounge. Pleasant staff. Plentiful hot water at good temperature.

    No hotel information found in room (facilities available, bar opening times, how to use phone, etc.). WC cistern filled with a dribble - took 30 minutes to refill. No shower over bath in room 1 (fitting was blanked off for some reason). Bar was open "on demand" and normally unlit, and was not very inviting as being used for ironing, although service was prompt and courteous. Not clear that bar closed when staff left, before 10pm. Website implied limited free parking at hotel, but did not make it clear this was on-street (although this did not affect our stay, as plenty of spaces available after about 4pm, but if arriving earlier might have to park round the back or a short walk away). Not enough sockets to plug clock, TV and lamp in at the same time.

    breakfast okay

    We booked a twin room as family members but this was not provided. Staff unhelful when we said we did not want a double room and argued with us at the desk. Changed our rooms twice as not adequate. Blamed it on central booking process and were quite abrupt with us. Rooms very poor value and no investment in hotel for many years. Window in room broken. Holes in wall and ceiling and lots of cracks and T.V had no reception. Very dark and opressive.

    nice location, good views over the sea

    the hotel is tired, electrical devices don't always work, lift was out of order and the room was unbearably hot.The food was poor.

    "Hotel standards are far, far higher(and cheaper) in a capital city such as Amsterdam and Copenhagen; with notable exceptions the standard of overnight accommodation/breakfast is for the most part expensive and largely indifferentin the UK and needs seriously examining. What was required was clean, comfortable, well-designed, basic accommodation with a quality (total self-service) breakfast all at a reasonable price. Strategic planning is required here in this lovely location to achieve a positive outcome." (97057737)

    Poor decor, badly set out, unsafe window; dimly-lit diningroom with no daylight;linen/rubbish in corridors; and safety standard of lift very questionable, with limited wheelchair access.

    "Out of season parking was easy on the promenade, but in season could imagine it gets a bit tricky to find a space close by, so would probably come by train." (97952624)

    The staff were very helpful and friendly. The window catch and 'bung' in our room were great - you could have the window completely open to admire the sea view, or semi closed where the bung stopped any rattling in the wind. The breakfast choice was great - I had my daily 5 helpings of fruit and veg in just the one meal!

    Overall too hot, we had to have the window open all the time, with the radiators off (mid March), which seemed a waste of energy from heating the corridors The curtain ties weren't simple to open/close
