    "Comfortable and pleasant" (108440402)

Excellent location - very good view of seafront; reception and general presentation of hotel was attractive. Room was clean and tidy. Breakfast very good.

Room and bathroom were small; would not be suitable for a stay of more than a few days. Mould in shower could do with being removed. No towel rails. (This was purchased as a superior room)

"Grossly overpriced for what was offered, over £100 I don't think we have ever stayed in such a small room" (108450522)

Pleasant lady checked us in and girl on breakfast was good The view of the sea from the room was good

General cleanliness needed attention. The room was so small and the "en suite" was a shower, toilet and basin in a "Cupboard"

"I enjoyed the break but only because of the family I was seeing." (107955130)

Lovely view, comfortable bed and nice clean decor.

The room was absolutely freezing - the weather was cold but it was warmer outside than inside. The windows were draughty and stuffed with paper. A lttle expensive for the type of accommodation.

"The hotel did not come up to what I would expect for a four star rated hotel. We choose this hotel because it looked very pleasing on the website and also because it was rated 4 stars. This was a holiday treat so we wanted to stay somewhere comfortable. The room we were allocated was extremely small, in fact the bathroom was almost bigger. The window sash had broken and so the window could not be closed but it wasn't obvious to us at first as the blind had been closed, and we thought that the window had been left open to air the room. We then discovered after unpacking that we couldn't close the room door properly, the latch would not close so the door just kept slipping open. We asked the receptionist to see if she could close it just in case we were not closing it correctly but she couldn't either. She offered to get somebody in to fix it however she couldn't tell us when it would be fixed as they would have to call somebody in to do it and as it was the Christmas period it could take some time. At that point we said that we did not feel happy about leaving our luggage unattended whilst away from the hotel, (we needed to visit our family) So we were moved to another room. This room was a family room at the top of the hotel that looked out onto both the front and back of the hotel. We were told that we could have this room for one night and that the next night we could have a sea view room. we were happy with this arrangement. Upon our return to the hotel that evening to retire to bed we discovered that the new room had more problems! The kettle did not work and and as the hotel was unmanned by staff after 10pm there was no chance of getting a replacement, we remembered that the first room was still opened so we managed to get the kettle from that room and make ourselves a cup of tea. Following that problem I used the bathroom and as I came out of the bathroom the lock on the door caught so that we couldn't get back into the bathroom. My husband urgently needed to use the bathroom and after fiddling around with the lock managed to open it again. this caused quite a problem and a few choice words from him as it looked as if we were going to have to call the emergency number that was displayed should we need any help when the hotel was unmanned which wasn't a happy prospect. The following day when we were moved to the next room and we discovered that this room was again a small room with very little room to move about in. The bathroom was this time a very small room (shower, toilet and tiny hand basin that was almost impossible to wash in). This room could not be called a bathroom because it was actually in the bedroom and was partitioned off by a badly fitted sliding door. The room was so small that I actually banged my head on the shaving mirror that was above the hand basin whilst getting up from the toilet. The final insult came on checking out of the hotel, I noticed the couple in front of me were paying their bill and it was a bit cheaper that what I was being charged. When we queried this we were told that sea views cost more, so we was being charged the sea view rates even though we didn't ask for this, and only had sea views because the original room was not secure. The only good thing about the hotel was the food, the breakfasts were good but again the dinning room was tiny and on the second morning it was almost full with guests, so felt very cosy indeed. The other thing I feel I should mention were the stairs, they were very steep and plenty of them. We had no offers of help with the luggage and had to lug everything ourselves up two and three floors. We are quite fit, the the hotel would not be suitable for anyone with even minor disabilities. The other of putting thing was when looking in the room for a information pack of the hotel the first page of the folder had in big bold letters Thieves will be prosecuted - very off putting!! We were both extremely disappointed with this hotel it cost us £190 (£95.00 per person) which was as far as we were concerned a very expensive B&B - definitely not 4 star hotel standard." (97452807)

    the location - sea front

Everything, the rooms were tiny (we ended up in three rooms over the course of two nights)

"THE COST OF ACCOMODATION IS A LITTLE HIGH COSIDERING SIZE OF ROOMS & RANDOM PARKING FACILITIES DESCRIBED AS FREE ON WEBSITE BUT ACTUALLY IF YOU PARK ON THE FRONT NEAR THE HOTEL YOU CAN BE FINED AS IT IS 4 HOUR STAY MAX ! " (107261517)

EXCELLENT SEAFRONT LOCATION, WONDERFULL STAFF, GOOD BREAKFAST.

POOR PARKING FACILITIES RELYING ON CHANCE & AVOIDING TRAFFIC WARDEN. ROOMS ARE VERY COMPACT & NOT SUITED FOR COMFORT. BATHROOM MIRROR LIGHT DID NOT WORK.

"A nice tasteful and restful hotel with very good room service menu, etc." (97516865)

Very clean modern hotel with tasteful furnishings. Nice buffet breafast with lots of choice.

Despite booking 4 months in advance was given a back bedroom while later bookings (week before) were given sea view rooms.

"Said it all already really, the room was very attractive but let down by the bathroom. Needs much bigger bathroom and upgraded plumbing." (97237936)

Lovely room with sea view, nice interior with boutique hotel design touches

Tiny bathroom and shower that seriously lacked power. Shower and basin plumbing allowed foul water smells to leak back into bathroom.

Our room was bright and beautifully decorated. The sea view made the journey worth while.

    Nothing

"Room 1 had single glazed drafty windows, the radiator did not work and the shower was an electric one with a very small amount of water comming out. the kids stayed in the family room on the top floor and were warmer but the headroom in the en-suite was very limited." (97431672)

    Location, sea view and breakfast

The modern clean look about the hotel and the position.

We had what i can only describe as a single room with a double bed in it and a tiny en-suite. Service was disgraceful, i had to phone the hotel from my mobile to get anyone to the reception even after ringing the bell repeatedly and waiting for at least 5-10 minutes, this happened at least twice!

Clean, fresh looking hotel, with a lovely view of the sea.

Lock on door was broken , which made it difficult to get out! The shower had very little power and a small bathroom considering the cost.

"This IS A GREAT HOTEL, I was very impressived with service and room. All facilities were readily available. I would recommend and definitly stay there again." (97427329)

    Room and Service was excellent

There are no lifts, but i was lucky my room was on the first floor, but when you are staying over business and have a fair bit of paperwork and luggage to carry. Car parking space although there s space on the road its difficult yo get a space late and then take two trips to get your luggage in.
