    Only one Very small window in room making it dark, front top floor (attic)room = VERY bad road noise resulting in very little sleep and rest.

    The room overall was pleasant, the bed comfortable.

    The toilet in the bathroom was really badly scaled up (black!), and was not a pleasant sight. The chair upholstery in the room was very dirty, especially the arms.

    "This is a budget hotel that is actually very good value for money. It's basic and simple - but you don't expect opulence and haute cuisine at this price. I've already booked to stay again" (107586871)

    Clean, warm, good shower, hot water, parking - everything worked. Seven minutes walking distance of station - 15 to 20 minutes walking distance from town centre.

    Parking limited - might be a problem if you arrive late.

    "Stayed the night prior to job interview - very comfortable, and noise and stress-free so could prepare and chill. Would stay again although prob would not recommend for romantic getaway etc. Overall good experience." (107354905)

    V friendly and helpful staff, v spacious and comfortable room and bed, sparkling new bathroom. Good breakfast (we ordered haddock and poached egg and full English - both very nice). Location. On staff response, we had a problem with the shower. However, this was not too much of a hardship as there was a lovely bath and plenty of hot water. Mentioned shower problem to reception staff when checked out, man was v apologetic and I got the feeling that the problem was to be looked into straight away.

    Shower and bathroom fan didn't work - think connected. See above for staff response. Room smelled of smoke but I'm pretty sure it was not hotel at fault, more likely inconsiderate previous guests. Did not complain as didn't feel it would spoil our stay.

    Friendly and helpful staff, excellent location. We had a very comfortable Reading Festival weekend.

    "very disappointing, stayed there 6 years ago and it was great - had no hesitation on rebooking. would not stay there again unless things change for the better." (107111716)

    Hotel had a room in a good location in Reading Bathroom clean and well looked after, looked new. furniture of a reasonable standard, rooms a good size staff friendly

    Slime in kettle, disgusting state of appliances. a cup of tea or coffee was out of the question as there was a funny goo in the kettle. not sure if water in rooms was drinkable... there was a funny taste, decided to wait until able to visit shop to buy water. Suspected rodents in the room in the night, was awoken by rustlng and squeaking at 6am. Road side rooms very noisy in morning (and at night for that matter)

    Very Clean, plenty of towels, my room was very quiet.

    Parking. This hotel has a tiny car-park which is always taken up with two or three large vans.

    "The staff put themselves out to meet my needs. (The hotel was in fact closed at the time but they nevertheless honoured my booking and made alternative arrangements for breakfast etc.) The hotel is only a few minutes from the Thames so would be ideal for guests who want to enjoy the river."     "A pleasant little hotel close to the town centre and main amenities. I stayed there on a Friday night, and, somewhat unusually in my experience of British town centres, both the hotel and the surrounding area seemed very quiet. For those who prefer noise and revelry, you are only about 10-15 minutes on foot from the main shops, bars, etc, (there are also reasonable facilities in the immediate area)." (97791368)

    "The hotel layout is slightly strange, although there does appear to be some work taking place. The room was actually an apartment and was clean and tidy. The main drawback was no windows other than one looking into the boiler room. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent." (97473710)

    "It hotel was basic and good value as such. However the TV was not working correctly, when i reported this in the morning i was told that i should have called down and they would have sorted it. This was OK however there was no apology and the responce was curt." (97485884)
