    Location good, parking good, breakfast good

    We were locked out when we returned at 11:30pm (even though we were told that reception was manned 24 hours) and staff did not respond to the intercomm bell. After quarter of an hour another customer finally let us in (he was also looking for a member of staff) by opening a fire-door - which set off an alarm.

    I wanted to change my room as it didn't have en suite and the staff were very helpful.

    It was a little noisy as so many men stayed outside the bar door smoking. This is not the hotels fault.

    it was easy to book

    did not realise it was a communal bathroom and they were absolutely filthy and the shower did not work properly. they were doing reservations and started at a ridiculous time of 8.30am outside my bedroom, there was constant banging, drilling and hammering against my wall it was a joke.

    We had a place to stay after our evening out. breakfast was hot and prompt

    no suitable mirrors, plug sockets coming away from the wall, shower didn't work also not attached to wall correctly, room floor very uneven (dangerous). window catch not attached to frame couldn't secure room. noisy all night

    nice park opposite

    the bed springs stood out. sleep was impossible. The hotel smelt awful. the decor was very tired - as were we after no sleep!

    There are no good points

    Hotel was smelly, not very clean. Room was terrible, no bathroom, had to share a toilet which was not made apparent at time of booking

    "ok for price paid, but basic room is VERY basic. Quite a long walk from my room to the (shared) toilet and shower room. seemed to be some confusion with booking at first but was quickly sorted. overall OK though." (107472036)

    quite friendly staff, not too far from town centre, and very good breakfast in the morning.

    Would have preferred on suite facilities, room was VERY basic, bed (mattress) was very uncomfortable with only a single pillow. Would suggest fitting double glazing on windows as there was alot of traffic noise from main road. Also lots of noise from other guests leaving bar late at night.

    TV did not work (limited to 5 channels but poor reception), no remote control provided, no iron facility available, no internet, mattress was poor (springs had come out)

    Rossmore hotel was full so stayed in sister hotel, the banks hotel. The hotel was clean and well presented. The en-suite shower room was great with a good pressure shower

    There was very little parking so ended up parking on road, The rooms were small and had a very small double bed which was hard and uncomfortable,No chairs in the room so had to sit on bed against headboard that was not connected so it banged against wall, there were no bedside cabinets so nowhere to put mobile phones, cups of tea etc. also had to ask for additional milk & sugar. The T.V. was a small portable with indoor ariel and I could not get a reasonable picture on any channel.

    "absolutely appalling. I understood that I wasn't paying a huge amount, but the least i expected was a clean room. When I complained the staff didn't care and i was offered no apology or alternative. Would not recommend - you have been warned!!" (108012622)

    breakfast was ok, free parking - nothing else at all rateable

    couldn't stand up in the room due to slanted ceilings; very dirty floor, surfaces etc; supposed to have en-suite facilities however had to go 'next door' to use a broken shower as only toilet and basin in room; general bad smell in room as if unclean; all beers in hotel bar tasted 'off'; sky not available in room despite it being advertised.

    GOOD LOCAL AMENITIES,ALTHOUGH THE AREA IS GENERALLY RUN DOWN.GOOD PUBLIC TRANSPORT SYSTEM.

    THE NIGHT STAFF WERE NOT VERY COOPERATIVE,AND SEEMED UNSURE ON WHAT TO DO.THEY HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE ON LINE BOOKING VOUCHER,THE ONSUITE BATHROOM WAS VERY TATTY.AND LACKED VENTILATION,ONLY ONE SINGLE TOWEL WAS AVAILABLE(THIS WAS RECTIFIED LATER) THE BACK CAR PARK IS SHARED WITH A LOCAL BUILDER OF SOME DISCRIPTION,WE WERE WAKENED AT 7.10AM TO THE SOUND OF REVVING MACHINES,AND SOMEBODY USING A LEAF BLOWER OUTSIDE OUR GROUND FLOOR ROOM.THERE IS NO NIGHT TIME SNACKS AVAILABLE,BUT A LOCAL TAKE AWAY IS ADVERTISED ON THE NOTICE BOARD

    It is fairly cheap and the breakfast is excellent. So are the friendly staff. Location and parking are an excellent feature

    Room needs to be decorated because it looks old and tatty. TV doesnt work properly.

    The Breakfast was excellent and the room was clean. Staff friendly.

    Very noisy hotel. every footstep outside the door made the door shake, I could hear people talking in adjacent rooms and couldn't sleep.

    The matress was the lumpiest and most uncomfortable i have ever slept on anywhere ever including camping on bear ground
