    Clean & generally comfortable room. Good service & excellent breakfast

    Not serving dinner on Monday (only night we stayed) was a dissapointment & was not communicated on booking

    "This hotel aims to be a "country house" It succeeds in most areas but there are two aspects that clash with the aim. There are books in the rooms and the lounge that appear to have been transferred en mass from the 1920-1930s. Old stud books for foxhounds, law procedures for lunatic trustees, and other oddities which are just unsuitable, (and unreadable, as they are all long out of date, especially the stud books!) The second point is that the owner of the house is a high society party organiser and the decor includes numerous photographs of him with A, B, & C list celebrities and framed menus from "fashionable" events. These clash with the rest of the decor which is based on quality portraits of the owners family over the past 200 years! These photographs& menus are of no interest to guests and are more in the line of advertising his business, therefore do not suit the style that the house is portraying. These points apart, the stay was comfortable and the meals of a good standard, as one would expect at these prices." (108100445)

    Great hospitality.

    British plumbing is not spiffing. The pressure in the shower is one example.

    The hotel is small,in a quiet but accessible situation and has views of the Menai Straits. Very well furnished in a country house style with many photos/portraits of Lord Snowdon's family. The staff are charming and helpful.

    Not really a bad point more a disappointment! We were unable to have dinner the night we arrived, Friday. We had travelled a long way and would have preferred not to go out again BUT they did recommend a good restaurant nearby.
