    "For the area the price was reasonable so although I was disappointed at the general state of the building overall it was acceptable and would use it again in the same circumstances. " (107910146)

    Staff attitude and responsiveness. Breakfast very good and with a variety of options. Quiet and view from our room was very pleasant.

    Very tired looking, in need of a lot of TLC on the infrasructure and parking limited.

    Excellent location with marvellous walk to Devil Bridge. Staff were very friendly and relaxed atmosphere

    Rooms are rather tired, could do with a light redecoration or deep clean - new paint, regrouting.

    location far outweighed everything else.staff were all very friendly and helpful

    badly needs refurbished and bar was very smelly hence we didn't drink in it.

    "This hotel is in a beautiful location, a few miles out of Aber yet easy to find. Car parking is available. The food is delicious and freshly cooked. The staff are chatty and helpful. My bedroom was very comfortable and at the front so i had wonderful views. It was clean, warm and cozy but the bathroom needed refurbishing. However, everything worked and there was plenty of hot water (very important!) so that would not stop me visiting again or recommending it. The whole hotel is spacious, it has a separate dining room, bar (that also serves food), living room with books, games, etc. Although I was a solo traveller, this hotel would be good for families. It also has free wifi coonection throughout, definitely a bonus." (97722123)

    The staff were very friendly and helpful, this is a family-run hotel and that comes across, you don't feel like a visitor, even the locals were welcoming.

    Bathroom needs updating but as current owners have only been in the property for 18 months, they are carrying out a probgramme of refurbishment as and when time and money allows.

    "day of arrival, check in brief but ok.taken to room 18 freezing cold no heating on,this is winter!!! there was no heating in the en-suit there was no way anyone could wash or shower. we noticed the huge amount of black flies, we killed most. went for dinner-drink, came back to room turned light on hundreds of black flies. it was reported to the owner who offered to move us to room 14 moving another guest, this was 23.15 this room was slightly warmer not so many flies, but enough,mouldy curtains wet windows flies but we survived the night.moved to room 1 little better.NOT HAPPY!!!!!!."     "Our stay was generally ok, just a few niggles here and there, mainly the cold and uninviting room on our arrival made us more judgmental about the other issues - first impressions are important." (97901398)

    The hotel was pleasant and staff were helpful. The Breakfast was excellent with good portions, with bacon, sausage, egg, mushrooms, tomato and a potato waffle. It was served on a nice hot plate which kept the food warm. Locally sourced produce was used.

    The room was cold on arrival, with electric wall heaters used for heating. The socket on the wall was loose and could pose a danger. The signs around the room were attached by drawing pins, or adhesive tape which seemed too amateurish. The shower area was clean but gaps in the edges will become a grim and grunge trap. Lighting was low wattage but using old style bulbs, use of modern low energy lighting would have increased the lighting at no extra running costs.

    "Felt a little unsure when entering the hotel, but greeted well and given help to carry bags etc (nice touch). Rooms very clean and clean bedding etc. Children made welcome! Excellant bar meal and breakfast. The information in the room explained they are new owners (2006) and are updating, with this and the service given it will be an exellent hotel!" (97490366)

    "Excellent, i have already recommended it to friends an family. The new years eve party was alittle pricey, but we still enjoyed it nether the less.i thought the web site was well informative, giving us the option to print out a few walks before hand which were really lovely." (97872017)

    the old victorian style feel, and the warm, friendly atmosphere, generated by the staff, eg fireplace, bowls of fruit ect. room lovely warm,and cosy.

    there was only one concern, was the walls were a little thin, you could hear next doors conversation.

    "We have a very pleasant stay at the Haford Hotel where we were made to feel most welcome. The food was enjoyable and they cater for vegetarians. A couple of minor points: I was confused by the photo on the website and had not appreciated it was such a big hotel. The (old) name of 'Haford Arms' on the building didn't help me either" (97663432)

    "When the manager found out it was treat for a birthday we were upgraded to a better room. The hotel was relaxed and the staff very helpful and friendly. Our only comment would be that we would have liked an a la carte menu - the set menu of 3 courses and then coffee and petite fours was a little more than we wanted." (97379300)

    The staff was outstanding, and did everything they could to make our stay memorable.

    There wasn't any space available to dine in the nice dining room, so we had to order a pub meal.

    "The Hafod is a nice hotel in a beautiful location - perfect for exploring the mid-Wales area. It's right on the roadside, but the road is small and not that busy - this may be different in the summer. I would certainly try to stay there again if the opportunity arose." (97393481)

    A fantastic hotel in an extremely pituresque part of Wales. Friendly staff, good range of walks in the area and one of the nicest looking hotels you'll ever see.

    There's not too much to do at Devils Bridge in the sense that walks aside there's not much there!

    "A hotel with friendly, family atmosphere - efficiently run. Breakfast & bar meals were excellent with unobtrusive, prompt service. (Did not try restaurant menu however) Hotel a little isolated - perfect for scenic drives and walking.(Narrow gauge railway, nearby, to Aberystwyth) Excellent value for money." (97578963)

    "This hotel is in an excellent position to take the interesting, if rather precarious, walk to view Devil's bridge(s). The hotel is in very good order, being clean and welcoming. The restaurant was fully booked but we had an excellent bar snack. The sirloin steak was cooked to perfection and was one of the best we have ever had." (97288873)

    The staff were very freindly and the hotel itself was in an excellent position. We fully intend to return at a later date for a walking week-end and to explore the area further.
