    room wasnt cleaned daily, breakfast was never actually available, room was cold, toilet roll not replenished regularly, no staff available to talk to at anytimes

    "The stay was pleasant and it wouldnt put me off staying again if no other hotel was available but i would look somewhere else before choosing this one only because nobody was there to greet us on arrival which was very poor i could have been anyone. " (108122291)

    plenty of choice for breakfast and i wanted brown toast which they did with out question.

    When we arrived at the hotel nobody greeted us and the key was left on the reception desk with my surname with it. They then wanted me to fill out a registration form with my address on which i didnt because anyone could have seen it

    Very clean and comfortable and well appointed. Nice to have a hairdryer.I appreciated being able to have access to my room a little earlier than the normal time.The traditional English breakfast was very tasty.

    The shower was fine if one rose early but by 8.15am it was only luke warm and it could do with a shelf in it for soap/shampoo etc. The TV is placed at an awkward angle and so high that it is not very user friendly. The strip light above mirror above the chest of drawers in room twelve isn't working - forgot to mention it before leaving - but apart from the shower being luke warm none of these points were major.

    Strange layout of room with basin completely the other side of the room from shower and WC.

    Location was handy and lovely surroundings

    The room was too old fashioned, horrible decor, carpets in toilet and bathroom, the heating didnt initially work and when it did the room smelt of burning dust, The TV was extremely dated with half the buttons missing. The breakfast staff were rude, and when i asked for a youghurt of which they had cleared away, They spoke to each other in a polish language clearly moaning about me asking for a yoghurt, The atmosphere was cold and uncomfortable, serious lack of organisation and communication!

    There was no one at reception when I arrived,after waiting for 10 mins a girl showed up,to be fair on her she did say they were short staffed and she was efficient and helpful

    I was told I could have an early breakfast(7am) but I waited until after 7am and had to leave as I had an early appointment. The room rate in the hotel was cheaper than yours.

    coming down to breakfast on last morning to discover we had to phone to order our breakfast only to get the wrong food & day old toast.once we got breakfast the girl disappeared out of the guest house leaving us on our own.my husband had to let another working in as he had no key.

    Breakfast good. Towels changed every day.

    Room VERY small. Shower not cleaned every day, old toiletries left on soap dish. No headboard on bed. Head of bed against window.

    Very good value for money and the breakfast was brilliant!

    The only problem was the inconsiderate people renting the top floor flat next door, who played music full belt all night! It wasn't young people either as it went from bon jovi to the carpenters!!!

    "We have stayed in this hotel before and have noticed an improvement from last time. It wasnt our first choice, but again we left it late booking so it was all that was available. I would stay here again if we couldn't book anywhere else!" (108588926)

    Breakfast was very nice, served quickly and hot.

    Although clean and tidy, the hotel is very dated and needs a lot of TLC. Also needs new locks on the rooms!!

    Value for money breakfast was very good. Rooms were clean.

    Had to wait awhile when booking in for someone to book us in. We had ordered a family room and they had no family rooms available so had to go in two rooms its a good things my kids were a bit older.Staff very unfriendly.

    the lithuanian staff were excellent, helpful and did their best in a horrible hotel. they cooked an excellent breakfast.

    the place was shoddy, cluttered with very old furniture and equipment. very noisy as they made the attic a flat but did not make sure the floors were fixed. the upstairs toilet leaked onto our toilet. a horrible place for the money they charge.

This year we recomended to friends and will continue to do so as not only isthe hotel is within 5 minutes wslk of both Grove House (where our event was being held) and the town centre but also offers reasonably priced, clean and 'value' accomomodation.     The Hotel was very clean and obviously cared for by the friendly staff.It is in a nice quiet area which led to a peaceful nights sleep.Breakfast was as good, if not better than some of the more expensive Hotels we have stayed in.

    I think of this as more of a nuisance than a bad point but the position of the TV made it awkward to watch from the bed.I know this is only a minor point but I do like to relax whilst watching and this was not possible.

    Room was ok if a little old fashioned but hey what do you want for that money!! Very clean and tidy Near to town centre - only five minutes walk.

    The key they gave us for the outside door did not work and nobody answered the intercom (and it was only 10.30pm!!). We had to wait over 10 minutes to get in. Little personal contact - when we wanted to check out nobody was around so they just asked us to leave the key and go!

    "We enjoyed Harrogate but wouldn't choose a Hotel in the town ever again as they are not value for money. We have had much better stays in country B&Bs in the area. This hotel was in no way value for money and we fail to understand how it has been awarded two stars by the AA! It doesn't say much for their standards" (107710673)

    Close to centre of town, water was hot, bed linen and towels OK

    Very Noisey as you could hear people using their bathrooms. Extractor fan noisey; plug in washbasin didn't work; breakfast times were most unreasonable eg Monday 8.30 - 9.00! We missed breakfast and was not even made a cup of tea. Half an hour slot for breakfast is extremely unreasonable. We found the front door wedged open on Monday evening and when we returned to the hotel it was still wedged open by a chair - very unsecure. Two Japanses guests arrived on Sunday a'noon when we were returning and they couldn't get in the hotel. We let them in and tried approximately 4 times to contact owners as no one was in charge at the hotel. It took an hour for someone to turn up to register them and give out their room key. There was no one running reception and it was very impersonal.

    1. All basic amenities (towels, toiletteries, breakfast, linen etc) included in the room-rent. 2. Very clean and very good value for money.

    1. Room-heater was not working in one of the rooms we had occupied, but then that was manageable.

    There are no good points about this hotel

    If we had wanted to stay in a hotel that had'nt been decorated for 30 years we would have gone to fawlty towers,but perhaps we did.I suggest you send an inspector to this hotel.

    Check in staff unable to direct us to room as she didn't know where it was. Bathroom very cramped. Difficult to lock bedroom door. Room very cold to start with and radiator main power switch outer casing broken. Vents for fan in bathroom taped up.

    Breakfast was good and there was PLENTY of HOT water. Parking provision was much appreciated. Staff were friendly and helpful. The location was convenient for town centre.

    This was a VERY TIRED HOTEL and it was COLD which the sad little radiant heater did little to resolve. Furniture bulky and old plus my wife's bed actually collapsed with broken leg on night 2.The TV was Logie Bairds prototype!

    room freezing,on arrival small room attached to ours was full of take-away packets and room stunk of curry,asked for toast for breakfast,20 mins later i had to go to kitchen and ask/staff were outside backdoor having a fag,they said they had forgotten.room not cleaned (cups,towels, trashbin etc )staff didnt speak good english(except for new zealand girl on 1st day,she was ok)

    The room was quiet, clean and warm. Breakfast was freshly made and wholesome. Disk parking was sorted for us quickly and without fuss.

    No high chair for our baby.
