    Nice comfortable bed

    "The beds and pillows were very very comfortable and I miss them already! We would recommend the hotel to anyone who needs to stay in Derbyshire. Unfortunately we didnt get a chance to use the facilities but would stay there again for a weekend just to use the pool and gym and enjoy the delicious breakfast." (108536320)

    Staff were very good. Breakfast was excellent especially the fruit puree to put over the fresh fruit!

    We were put in room 122,and there were spiders in the corners of the ceiling and of course associated cobwebs to go with the spiders! Just over the door there were cobwebs which hadnt been touched and also the ledge near the radiator hadnt been dusted for what looked like months! The shower although hot didnt have too much power in it.

    We had booked the accommodation as a stopover stay travelling between Buxton & Nottingham - we had also informed of a late arrival after midnight - when we arrived the lady on reception immediately attended to us - the next morning during breakfast the staff were extremely polite and helpful especailly when we asked directions to the nearest retail shops the lady went out of her way to esnure we understood the directions - quick check out - the only disappointment was that our stay wasn't long enough to experience the rest of the hotel and its staff.

    Very pleasant atmosphere. Clean,fresh and welcoming. Staff friendly and efficient. As vegetarians we thought breakfast might be a problem - we were wrong! Food and table service was spot on. Extending the welcome to our dog made it an ideal overnight stop.

    There was some sleep disturbance caused by inability to reduce room temperature sufficiently, coupled with external aircon fan noise if window opened.Wedding party stragglers a little too chatty at 3am.

    Very good service at breakfast - the head waiter in particular showed a very good level of quiet efficiency with the right balance of attention and restraint, but available when needed.

    Lovely girl on reception, but she spoke a "standard patter" very fast which made it difficult to understand, not helped by her accent unfortunately.

    The staff were very courteous towards us and polite, were eager to see if there was anything else they could do for us. The cleaner always did a very good job of our room.

    I cant really think of any really, but only one small bad point was that the air conditionong is a bit noisy at night time.

    Efficient check in and quality of the room.

    If breakfast is advertised as 7-11am on Saturday it isn't welcoming for the staff to be clearing things up and not replenshing things at 10am.

    A modern well decorated bright roomy hotel,well situated to the M1. Enjoyed the well cooked and presented breakfasts.

    Was not impressed having to wait for reception staff to appear from either the back office or another part of the hotel,not happy with the lack of cleanliness of the room,swags to curtains had not been dusted for weeks.Cobwebs hanging from coving around aircon unit could be grade 2 listed they had been there that long.I bought a necklace and asked for it to be placed on the pillow with a bottle of iced champayne between 7.00 and 8.00 while we were at dinner.Got back to find nothing.I marched down to reception,waited for a receptionist to appear,asked him to look at the diary,very sorry sir but we had not checked the diary,I returned to our room twenty minutes later the phone rang.I am so sorry sir we don`t have the champayne you ordered. Actually we don`t have any of the champayne on the wine list.MOMENT LOST! surprise evaporated!We would like to give you a bottle of house champayne to say sorry "cheap perrier".

    Good clean hotel. Manger was attentive, though reception not always staffed.

    More of a 3.5 than 4 star really. Breakfast expensive when bought separately. No free wifi - paying for wifi is becoming an archaic notion.

    Huge bed, attentive service, spacious room

    Restaurant food terrible - limited selection and very standard quality. Our room was a bit tired and dilapidated with stains on carpet, hook fell off bathroom door, marks on walls, bathroom fittings worn.

    Excellent in every way except the point I make below.

    No baked beans at breakfast one morning. The lady behind the counter seemed to think that "Sorry we've run out" was a satisfactory answer. The hotel was clearly short of guests that weekend so how they could run out of a vital breakfast component is beyond me. I would suggest that rather than running out, not enough was ordered in the first place.

    Good breakfast meal. Good gardening.

    Place an order through internet and got confirmation print out. When checking in the front desk cannot find my internet booking. They ended up giving me their own booking on the spot. The hotel internet bax was out of order, called but no fixing till the end of the day. No room cleaning after the first night. Complained to the front desk. But it takes two more room changes to get things right. The furnitures in the room is too old and the conditions need to be improved.

    Only 8 TV channels! Reception on 2 channels was poor, on 3 was attrocious, I was told that it was the same for all rooms. The air con was noisy, but when you switched it off another air con system kicked in that was even noisier. Bathroom extraction would not switch off.

    no internet access in rooms, bars expensive. Its more expensive to book online than via the phone this is very odd and a bit cheeky on you behalf as well.

    Hard to find any apart from location

    service in the restaurant was excellent food good and was quick in coming even thow it was busy.

    It was cold and drafty in bar lounge area.We were not the only ones to feel this problem.The only other problem was gym changing areas were dirty.The manager said he would look in to it.Pool was also not very warm.
