    Staff very friendly, made to feel very welcome

    First room was close to the water system, dripping water all night. Moved to another room with no fuss or bother.

    Excellant variety of food and well presented.

    Due to my late email booking of the room (3hours before arrival) the staff were not aware of my plannned arrival, therefore it would have been possible for the room to have been taken by another person before my actual arrival. Again, due to the late booking the central heating in the cottage had not been turned on prior to my arrival and it took three requests before this was attended too.

    All staff extremely helpful and polite and the meals and service were excelent. Much better in fact than the last Hilton I stayed at.

    Nice breakfast selection. Wetherspoons within easy walking distance. Yippee!

    Our ATTIC room had no views. After all it IS called Castle VIEW Hotel! Stairs and firedoors incredible difficult. NOT a place for the elderly or disabled to stay! No car park! Manager could be heard using the 'F' word on the phone from the breakfast room! Never had our towels changed.

    A very nice hotel with a friendly atmosphere. We didn't eat at the hotel other than breakfast but the menu looked interesting

    We got back to the hotel at just before midnight and would have enjoyed a night-cap but the bar was closed and the area roped off.

    Staff very friendly and helpful, excellent food

    Cracked and old sink with lights not working in bathroom over the basin therefore poor lighting. Window with no blind in the bathroom. Room floors dirty. Old furniture. Ill fitting and insecure room door. I know this is an old estabishment and we didn't expect modern rooms however I did expect a higher standard of cleaniness.

    Excellent food, very good service.

    Third floor room, very narrow stairs which were hard to negotiate when carrying cases.

    Dogs are allowed to stay in the rooms with guests. Walks were in easy reach of the hotel. Excellent location near the river wye bridge and town centre all within walking distance.

    No parking facilities at the actual hotel. The location of our room would have benefited from an umberella during the down pour.

    Friendly staff, character building (no steel girders!) and excellent breakfast. Room very clean and with all necessary facilities.

    Staff were all a bit airy fairy and in one instance rude "are you two still here," Lack of breakfast menu, hotel had a slight run down feel - bulbs out in dining room. My partner noted that it had a "fawlty towers" feel to it

    Hotel room very clean,

    Hotel did not have copy of booking, it was locked. staff member was not understanding of on-line booking process, and insisted on taking credit card details again. En-suite door not not shut properly.

    "Very enjoyable, we had elderly parents with us who really enjoyed their stay. A comfortable and convenient place for an overnight stay." (97965895)

    The hotel was in a good location, parking across the road. Restaurant good, food good quality. Rooms comfortable.

    Breakfast was a bit poor. Staff a bit thin on the ground. We had a problem with the bed but this was compensated for in the bill.

    The hotel manager was very nice, friendly, and made our stay more fun than it woudl have otherwise been. We enjoyed his humor. The room had an excellent view and a very homey feel.

    "The hotel looked clean & tidy its just a pity that the one meal we had which was the inclusive breakfast which was spares to say the least and seemed to have been cooked by an amatuer and the attitude of the young waitress spoilt the whole stay " (108017060)

    The staff on duty on the saturday afternoon were very helpfull

    Full English breakfast consisted of 2 rashers bacon, 1 over cooked sausage, 1/2 tomato, & 1/2 slice of fried bread I had to ask for our fried eggs after the breakfast arrived.(The breakfast was very sparse) The attitude of the waitress was that of everything was too much bother with tuts when more Tea was requested

    We found the hotel to be perfect for our short stay and should we be in that area again I would use your hotel.

    The only negative thing I can say is, on the second morning for our stay we were put at a rather small table and it made it difficult when the three of us had full breakfasts - a minor point and in hind sight we should have asked to be moved as there turned out to be plenty other tables available.

    Very welcoming, staff friendly and helpful. Food interesting, well priced. The public car park is straight across the road (literally a one minute walk!) and is cheap compared to city prices, and there's no fee after 5pm until 9am the following day nor all day Sunday).

    For the unfit, the town centre is up a fairly steep hill!
