    Really helpfull and friendly staff, a relaxing atmosphere and excellant value for money

    The bathroom had no door no matter how much you know your partner privacy when 'using' the bathroom is important.

    Very nice location and grounds, very clean and tidy interior hotel, staff plesent and smiling.

    Room in maim building very small, bed side tables very small and cheap with handles on draws missing, no wardrobe, bathroom small shower adjustment broken. Morning beakfast was very good but evening meal very poor.

Given the distance and location relative to major roads and tourist attractions eg Alnick, then it becomes essential for everything to be spot on otherwise the chore in getting to the hotel overcomes its attractions."     Willingness of young, but poorly trained, restaurant staff. Food quality and presentation was excellent.

    Location, outdoor facilities and acccess to Hadrian's wall. Decent breakfast.

    Saturday meal service was surreal from friendly but inept serving staff. Warm white wine sparkling wine not served in flutes, warm sparkling water, attempt to drop tie in soup, lack of attention to order (i asked for soup, i expected not to have to ask for associated cutlery to eat it with). Generally disorganised at the meal. Didn't clean rooms on between days.

    Lovely surroundings. Hotel has great possibilities but is at present being let down by poor staffing, particularly at reception.

    Given key to room 31 which hadn't been cleaned when checking in at 3.30 pm Then given key to room 48. When we went for dinner this was not recorded as being occupied - caused several problems. Reception at fault. One night booked a particular table through reception at 9.30 am for 7.30 pm that evening. This not passed on to restaurant - table double booked. Young waitress did her best but this should not have happened.

    Room was a good size, very light with 2 windows with also a window in the bathroom. High quality furnishings. Beautiful location and grounds

    We prefer a carvery style breakfast but food was good and hot. Not a huge choice if only continental breakfast required and pastries etc were not covered. Two table cloths per table is excessive in this day and age. This is our third visit and third request for notices to be displayed in the bathroom requesting guests to save a towel for the environment.

    The room was excellent, we loved the decor, we were warmly welcomed.

    No bad points but having worked as a waitress in a hotel we thought the waiter service in the restaurant could have been a little more proffessional. We didn't want a dessert but would have enjoyed chesse and biscuits but there was no alternative, just a minor point.

    Clean, lovely setting

    No cold water in taps in my room - had to request a glass of water from reception in the night. Hard to have a shower if didn't want to wet hair because it was directly over the middle of the bath and very high up. No vegetarian alternatives offered for cooked breakfast so not very good value for money, and in all honesty I thought the quality of the breakfast and how it was cooked was very average and table service was slow & negligent which was a real shame. I think I waited 15 minutes for a cup of tea even though not many guests were seated.

    "The setting and welcome was excellent, but it was really let down by an extremely poor performance in the kitchen and dining room! In sum we won’t be going again!" (107443472)

    The receptionist was very friendly, quick and efficient. The Setting of the hotel is really good and the rooms fair for the price.

    The food was appalling and the service not much better. The meat that was served was dry as if it had been under a hot plate for hours, orders were confused across the entire room. It was a clear that every thing was too much trouble for the young waiters who really did not have any manners or even the first clue on how top wait on tables. We definitely had the B-Team on in the kitchen and on service, hopefully the hotel has an A-Team as the setting and building deserves it. The value for money when eating in is poor we paid £25 per head - a rip off for the stuff we were served. The advertised WIFI was not working and we were informed that it would take 24hrs to fix as it was the evening- longer than our stay!

    We found the whole experience of staying in the hotel exceptional. The staff were fantastic, so helpful and friendly. The room was beautiful and incredibly clean. Food in the resturant was lovely. I couldnt fault anything at all about the stay just wish we had had longer!

    lovely position and decor

    hardly any staff, no management present, ran out of beer during wedding, room that we booked not available, had to wait 20 minutes for tea and coffee whilst we ate breakfast. not enough staff at all.

    "We had a very nice two nights at the Otterburn Hall Hotel. It really was a very nice hotel with very frendly staff. We had a jacuzzi room, the jacuzzi was excellent, very big and no shortage of hot water. The only draw back was that there was not door between the bathroom area and the bedroom area, just a flimsey fly screen type curtain. I would stay there again if I was in that area." (107893294)

    Very nice setting, very nice building. Staff could not of been more frendly or helpful.

    Could of done with a bit more privacy in the bathroom, no door, just a fly screen type curtain. There are times when you need a little more privacy!

    Lovely room and setting, very clean rooms, friendly staff

    Very poor service at breakfast - had to chase for service. When toast was brought no butter was delivered and with a pot of tea no cup and saucer!

    Very relaxing and quiet, left to enjoy your stay with minimum fuss. After small mishap with residents staying above our room we were promptly moved and upgraded to a full suite and a bottle of champagne for our trouble. Very much appreciiated.

    Main car park was closed with no direction to actual check-in desk as hotels main lobby is no longer used we were floating in limbo as to where we should check-in only to find a small desk in the dining area apart from that excellent.

    every thing new in room. very comfortableand well equiped .staff great. quiet serene setting in woodland and beautiful building.although bedrooms modern they had kept old character which was good
