    "Will never stay here, will definitely tell others at the show how terrible it was. I was happy with how your company dealt with my booking but feel it is probably not somewhere you should be associating with yourselves." (107847840)

    This hotel was appalling. They tried to insist that we pay before we even saw the room which we wouldn't do. Once we saw our rooms we understood why; there were holes in the ceiling, holes in the bed covers and a couple of hooks to put your clothes on instead of a wardrobe. The rooms were so small that they were totally impractical. Needless to say, we refused to stay and found alternative accomodation. The owner insisted on the phone (because she wouldn't come to see us face to face)that the rooms would still be charged for which obviously we are unwilling to do. I stay at hotels for shows every year and have never been anywhere as poor as this.

    The room smelt as if there has been a smoker in it. For breakfast to finish at 9am on a Sunday - somewhat early. No one had told me of the time, there was not a notice in the room - that I saw.

    "We had some difficulty in obtaining entry into the hotel as staff are not on the premises. That said the rooms were nice and the receptionist was very pleasant. We had a good nights sleep in the comfortable beds but sadly breakfast was a disaster. We had to be away early so we arrived promptly at 8.15 for breakfast, nothing was ready. We hung around until 8.30 when a member of staff arrived and started setting the tables. No tea was offered, 'tho coffee was available. Our order for breakfast was taken at 8.35 and we waited and waited. Several breakfasts were served to others that had arrived after us but our still did not turn up. At 9.00 am the staff member came over to ask if he could take our order. We informed him we had already given our order but he did not seem to understand and tried to take it again. As we were now running late we had to decline and left without having any breakfast. As we had a long drive back to Devon, we were very unhappy with having to set off with nothing for breakfast, which was included in the price of the overnight stay. Very disapointing. " (108839934)

    "Excellent location for visiting Harrogate and surrounding area.Hotel was a minute walk to town centre.No complaints at all with accomodation.Breakfast good .Cleanliness of room very good .Would definately stay here again and would recommend.Good value.Really enjoyed the stay in Harrogate.     "Poor, the parking is dreadful, there is a prolem with the neighbor over parking, the toilet in the single room is way to small, the sheets were clean but the quilt had what looked like a blood stain on it. It is true, you get what you pay for........ Even for an overnight stay I would not recommend this hotel" (107458515)

    "This was a hotel which provided adequate facilities for the time we were there - we used it as a base and were out for 12 hours per day so its central location was a bonus for finding restaurants etc. when we got in.     "The B&B was a clean, comfortable and inexpensive base. Harrogate and nearby Skipton & Knaresborough were all beautiful and well worth visiting. " (107941975)

    The B&B was comfprtable, clean, in a good location for local amenaties and really reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

    The B&B did nit seem secure as the back door was never locked. The front door lock and the room lock were very tricky and needed updating.

    "Generally speaking I would recommend this hotel as it is very conveniently situated opposite the exhibition centre, very close to the city centre and all the shops, and good value for money" (107885895)

    - the Lady in charge of the hotel was very nice - the service was very good - everything was very kleen

    - the room was absolutely tiny - the television did not work very well - no double glazing so I could hear quite a lot of noise from the street

    Near town centre. Staff friendly when you could find them!! Clean sheets

    Checking in and out nightmare, could have walked out without paying quite easily although they had my card details or did they?!!. Staff communicated via mobile phone to get other members of staff to come in to check us in and out, hurried girls running in and apologising,friendly though.

    "I thought we were taking a bit of a risk on this one, considering the low charges, but all our party were happy with the rooms & breakfast. So all in all, pretty pleased!" (107371192)

    Strange booking on, no permanent reception staff, maybe no permanent staff on site. everything done on phone to another hotel. English speakingnot all that good with some staff members.

    I was upgraded to the sister hotel, and got an excellent double room, having booked a single. Lots of little extras in the room - toiletries, magazines and refreshments. The receptionist was friendly and attentive, showing me to my room rather than just pointing out where it was. Breakfast was very good and prompt. Excellent value for money.

    I stayed at the Aston Hotel and found the hospitality top drawer and would recommend it to friends and would long forward to a return.The staff were attentive to the needs of the guests and Full English breakfasts served promptly and well prepared.A spent bulb was repaired immediately in my Room on arrival.

    We can not comment on this hotel as we did not stay there. We were moved to another hotel in harrogate.No reasons were given for the move.

    "Good value for money - the food made this hotel worth it! The rooms are very very very small - but clean - service is slow but when it arrives its great - if you are coming to Harrogate for a conference and just need a bed and breakfast - this is the place for you. I would recommend the Japanese at this place the food is to die for! Great place at the price." (107586597)

    Very clean - the food was excellent - it was entertainment and a meal wrapped into one nice package - the full english breakfast was excellent! Lovely fresh food.

    The stairs - there is no handicapped access - the service was a bit slow as they had one poor girl working at the small hotel and the sister hotel and she had to be everywhere at the same time. The parking - really there isn't any parking - because the staff use the very small 6 car space. If you are in a wheelchair forget this place - they will have to carry you up the four flights of stairs.

    "We were e-mailed by Azalea House saying, because it was quiet, we would upgraded to their sister hotel - Ashley House. On arriving we were told we had the smallest room in the hotel but we didn't question it." (107761918)

    Lots of drawer space. Good lighting - especially above the mirrors. The breakfast was good and hot and cooked to order. Clothes accidentally left in the wardrobe were kept safely until collected later.

    The wash hand basin was in the bedroom and the shower room/toilet very small. See above for the good points which, in fact, were better than The Old Swan where we stayed the following night at considerably more money!
