    Service and attitude of staff

    General maintenance of rooms - the first room I was allocated had no heating. I was moved to another room without any fuss, but this room had a faulty TV and a broken shower. I reported these at checkout time ( I was only there for one night otherwise I would have raised it earlier ) and was thanked for telling them but they already knew about these problems!

    Room was clean and comfortable

    The Toilet in the room leaked via the cistern. This should have been highlighted by the cleaning staff prior to any customer staying. WHEN ORDERED A STEAK FROM THE BAR I ASKED THE BAR MAN TO ENSURE THE STEAK WAS MEDIUM TO WELL DONE. tHE STEAK ARRIVED WITHIN 5 MINUTES OF ORDERING WHICH IS OBVIOUS THAT IT WAS NOT FRESH COOKED. THE STEAK WAS RARE ON THE INSIDE. WHEN I REPORTED THIS TO THE BARMAN HE SIMPLY SAID 'SORRY' NO OFFER OF REPLACEMENT OR REMOVING FROM MY BILL. I ALSO MENTIONED THIS TO THE RECEPTIONIST WHEN CHECKING OUT, AGAIN ALL WAS SAID WAS 'SORRY'. I WAS NOT IMPRESSED AND WULD NOT ENCOURAGE ME TO USE THIS HOTEL OR ANY OF ITS CHAINS AGAIN. VERY DISAPOINTED.

    Room was nice, clean and spacious and i thought it was good value for money.

    none really, other than having to wait a bit to check in whilst the recepionsit did something on the computer, but not a huge problem.

    The staff tried to help with the problems. The lone waiter in the restaurant did a heroic job of dealing with all the diners.

    We were initially allocated a room on the third floor. The light above the work area was not working and other lighting in the room was not good enough to enable me to do the work I needed to complete over the weekend. When we complained, we were told that the "special" light bulbs were not in stock. We were offered a handheld torch; not much good for someone needing to work on a laptop! More seriously, the room reeked of paint. Within a short time, I had developed a severe headache. I was already worried about the paint being a trigger factor for my asthma. Admittedly, when my partner informed the staff that I had nearly died of an asthma attack earlier this year and that we would consider legal action if the paint induced an attack during our stay in the hotel, we were given a different room on the first floor. However, in my opinion, the rooms on the third floor should not have been let out at all while they were still stinking so strongly of paint. The cooked breakfast was advertised as being freshly prepared and brought to the table. However, we were shown to a buffet area containing repulsive-looking oily sausages and bacon and dried out scrambled egg (no other types of egg were available). I had to content myself with some tepid baked beans and cold ham and hard boiled egg from the continental buffet. Had we known that a proper cooked breakfast was not available, we would not have had breakfast in the hotel at all.

    All staff were excellent and polite, very helpful as we had to leave early and breakfast was arranged for us. Have stayed at Campanile whilst abroad but first stay in uk, will revisit.

    None experienced, building work was not a problem as we stayed at the weekend

    The window would not open, 1 member of staff very polite, friendly and helpful.

    The room was very cramped, the room was meant to be a twin room and the room was so small the beds were pushed together, the cleanliness of the room was not up to standard and when we checkout there was soiled linen from another room thrown on the corridor floor, and it was very soiled! the linen for the bed was not as clean as it could be, and only a hand towel and a bath mat were provided in the room, obviously not enough for 2 people. The waiting staff were not helpfull, and did not appear to know what meals included what, my colleague asked for some bread whilst we waited for our meal, the waitress did not know what a bread roll was!! After an 18 hour day, wanting to have a meal and relax for the rest of the evening we found ourselves very disappointed.

    Quite, clean, functional, nice bar good food at reasonable prices

    Why oh Why don't hotels all offer free Internet in the rooms? As with all lower cost Hotels the pillows are desperately uncomfortable!
