    "Apart from the comments above we had a very pleasant stay." (108575875)

    The staff were very friendly and the restaurant lovely and the food was excellent

    The only disappointment was the coolness of the hot water in the taps and the coldness of the shower which was unusable because it was so cold both in the early evening and the morning.

    I was impressed overall with the hotel - very friendly and helpful staff, clean and comfortable. I would certainly use this hotel again if I was in the area.

    no hot water from the shower on the two nights we were there at time of use , diod heat up later on , but not much use at the time when having to have a luke warm shower.

    Friendly staff, helpful and courteous. Food very good and well stocked bar. Very well equipped room and bath and very comfortable bed.

    Hotel was very hot even though there didn't seem to be any heating on. The name change from Lakes Court Hotel to Hallmark was not communicated by Active Hotels so we had trouble finding it.

    the room facilities were ok, the check in staff were friendly

    we were woken by the person in the next room putting his TV on at 5am. Despite ringing reception they took over an hour to attempt to make contact with the person. When we complained to the duty manager he said all he could do was apologies. the food at breakfast was not topped up quickly enough resulting in customers having to wait 10 minutes for certain items included in the cooked breakfast. tea and coffee had to be requested and this service was slow. Also the lady making the tea/coffee rolled her eyes when we asked if one of the teas could be weak. there was no skimmed or semi skimmed milk despite having this printed on the menu.

    Hotel newly refurbished. Bar area and room excellent.

    Was initially given a single room when we had booked a double, this was rectified straight away. Although breakfast was good service was poor. Hardly any tables had been cleared. No plates available.

    "Excellent facilities and a warm welcome, inspite of our very late arrival. Although the hotel is located next to the railway station, the room was very quiet. All in all a good choice for our stopover to Scotland and excellent value for money, especially compared with our first choice of Premier Inn. " (107425339)

    The staff were very friendly and willing to assist when required. Breakfast 1st class. its a buffet but everything cooked in small amounts and regularly put out on the table. The public areas have been refurbished beautifully. The staff - excellent

    The nightclub within the hotel was on till 2am with the music blaring - no chance of getting any sleep if your room is anywhere near it.

    Excellent room with first class facilities. Hotel food was remarkably good.

    Took a while for extra requirements, e.g. bath mat to be delivered to our room. Lack of car parking space.

    The night manager, Angus, was excellent,nothing was too much trouble,and he was always cheerful.

    Good value for money, and helpful staff under the circumstances. Will be really nice when refurbishment complete.

    unfortunately, the hotel is still in the process of refurbishment which meant that no lifts could be used, and limited services available, ie, no proper restaurant or bar, and the rooms used were the ones still to be refurbished. The entrance to the hotel had to be up the back lane which was very dark, and there was no light at the entrance to the hotel, therefore was quite dangerous.

    Really easy to find, next to train station, but not at all noisy. Staff very friendly and happy to help

    Room was a bit noisy and slightly cold as secondary glazing didn't completely shut. As a business traveller i need to keep receipts so not great that they were unable to print one out for me on departure. Am waiting for the promised bill to arrive in the post.

    Food excellant - room clean and comfortable

    Hotel was fine, but because it is around the corner from the night clubs was very noisey at night - the noise coming from outside which you have no control over. Also both mornings we were left without having our breakfast order taken.

    Excellent service from the hotel staff when checking in and in the restaurant. The quality of the food was very good and was good value for money.

    Our room overlloked an alley where bins were stored and these were moved noisily at about 5:00 am disturbing our sleep. As can be expected in a central town location, there was also noise from late night revellers outside the hotel!

    Everything! Couldn't fault anything! The staff were friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and spacious. Breakfast was excellent, with a choice of full english, eggs on toast, fish and many more!

    The hotel was well looked after in every detail and the staff were friendly and helpful.

    Breakfast service was a little disappointing as we had to request everything individually from additional butter, orange juice and milk. The cooked breakfast could not be faulted but the buffet table for fruit, cereal and yogurt was very poorly presented.

    Good, comfortable accommodation, friendly and efficient staff, good selection of well-prepared food at breakfast. Good central position, handy for the station and the town - shops and places of interest.

    No light outside bathroom (by wardrobe); very noisy fan that automatically came on with the light in bathroom; room very warm and could have done with an electric fan in summer; couple of power failures (wall socket)- TV and hairdryer went off for a while; some noise from outside - people and police sirens - but not excessive.

    EXCELLENT LOCATION AS I TRAVELLED FROM BLACKPOOL ON THE TRAIN. FRIENDLY WELCOME AND CHECK IN. ROOM VERY NICELY DECORATED - LOVELY BIG BATHROOM. FRIENDLY BAR AND TV AREA - GOOD FACILITIES

    THE BAR DRINKS WERE A LITTLE TOO EXPENSIVE, AND BREAKFAST WAS NEARLY COLD.
